Bistro Lounge – Kitengela

Looking for the perfect nyama choma and drinks joint accompanied with amazing rhumba music? Bistrol lounge in kitengela is just the place to be . Located in kitengela a few metres away from club 36 and right beside muigai estate, trust me when I say this is the perfect nyama choma spot. One thing about kenyans, and Africans in general is the tendency for guests to pull up at any time, warning given or not. And when guests come, good food has to be prepared..in plenty whether your pockets are deep or not. So a while back we got impromptu guests at our home in kitengela, unexpected and unplanned for. As is custom guests have to be ushered and fed well. Naturally, considering the stature of the guests we opted for nyama choma, a quick but classy meal for them. We normally get our nyama choma from a different joint in kitengela but on this day we opted to buy from bistrol considering it was closer to home and it was an emergency. My cousin and I headed there and we were well received from the entrance. We were shown where to park and ushered s into the lounge. A waiter immediately rushed to us and requested to know whether we were comfortable and asked for our order. We placed our order of 4 kilograms of nyama choma to go. rhumba music played softly while waiters walked around catering to the needs of several customers who were having a good time there. We were offered drinks as we waited. Our order was ready an hour later and we paid and left. The meat was great, a little too oily but perfectly cooked. You could taste the rich flavours in the mbuzi and our guests loved it. We actually got amazing compliments from the old men in the room about the rich flavours in the mbuzi. That was the highlight of the day and enough to let us know that bistrol lounge would be the new nyama choma joint. From then we became loyal customers to bistrol lounge. I haven’t had the chance to say this to the amazing staff at bistrol but I hope this review let’s them know how we felt about their services and that we’ll be coming back anytime we need their mbuzi. I’d recommend this joint for nyama choma needs any day any time. They are affordable as well and worth it. Chef’s kiss.
