Chicken Inn

Having done The Junction Mall, eaten at the restaurants and spent a wad of cash, we just wanted something more homely. What’s better than roast chicken and salad? Chicken Inn tries to cater to everyone. They sell roast chicken, pizza, burgers, fish, schnitzel, Chico rolls, chips, salads and pretty much anything else that can be prepared on a grill or in a deep fryer. The girls behind the counter are polite and busy. We ordered chicken and salad and schnitzel and salad. at Chicken Inn next to Junction opposite the University Of Nairobi . My chicken was good, I had a choice of two salads (6 available). I went for the garden and potatoes. Both good. The schnitzel was deep-fried. Tough leathery. Everything came with copious amounts of chips. Unfortunately due to the way their system works another customer took our order so we had to wait a bit longer to get everything re-prepared. We made no fuss, this can happen. In case you like non-vegetarian fast food somewhat similar to KFC, then it is the right place for you. My favorite brunch is Chicken Inn Westgate Mall, for some reason their portion is better than any Nairobi brunch. If this place sticks to its name I would rate it 4/5.

You know those days you get home after a long day. You don’t have the energy to cook so you order from your favorite fast food joint. I used to do this a lot while in Nairobi but since I relocated to Nakuru, the options were limited. So when Chicken Inn announced that they’ll open a branch in Nakuru, I was excited but mostly relieved coz I’ll have several options to choose from. They had a grand opening last year and for a month or two, the place was always packed. The branch is located in the CBD, along Kenyatta Avenue. It helps with accessibility but it’s a nightmare to get parking. They have the counter on the ground floor and the dining area is on the first floor. It’s a huge dining space considering they’re sharing the space with Pizza Inn, Galito’s, and Creamy Inn. There’s also a terrace with a street view. It’s a cool space for dates, meetings, or group hangouts. To be honest, my favorite item from Chicken Inn’s menu is the sweet and sour sauce. It goes for 30/= and it makes your meal so much tastier. Even when I get just a two-piecer (goes for 300/=), I get two of those sweet and sour sauces. Also, you can order from the various food delivery services and get their food right at your doorstep. I hope more franchises come to Nakuru and I also hope guys from Nakuru enjoy the ones that are here. You got to luv that chicken!
