Christ’s Co-Workers Fellowship (CHRISCO), was founded in 1978 after Apostle Das first visit to Kenya accompanied three Afro-American ministers of the word, God used him in this mission and gave him a vision for the country. He was later on compelled to come back in the country in which he began meetings at the All Saints Cathedral balcony; with emphasis on Biblical and divine-inspired teachings and emphasis on prayers. As God’s will always prevail, Apostle faced stiff opposition in his bid to set-up a five-fold with true Biblical based teachings.

After few weeks in 1978 close to 90 brethren looking for a place to practice their faith committed themselves to this cause which gave Apostle Das backup. It took couple of years to erect the first building for the church; however that is still the base for the ministry. But the vision of Apostle Das including his deep teachings esoecialy on five-fold ministry was not well received by many in the Lord’s vineyard.

Apostle Das and entire church members of Chrisco has realized that the love of Christ can energize the Church and give her motivation for reconstructing the waste places like Kibera slums in the in Nairobi City, Kenya which hosts Chrisco Church Headquarters.

By manifesting the love of Christ to the local community, the Church has the power to change hearts as CHRISCO has done over the years it has been in existence. We have seen that the Church can be the extension of Christ’s hand, reaching out to touch the lives of hopeless children one heart at a time. We have the identified spiritual resources that God has given the Church to rebuild the waste places, therefore the Church is under divine obligation to start the work immediately. It’s time to get up off our knees and roll up our sleeves. The wave of change in the newly ushered 21st Century has made the Church (body of Christ) to live in fear of the community surrounding them. They are more concerned about the community breaking in to their beautiful facilities than about breaking out into the neighborhood with the power of the glorious gospel of our Lord. The Church must move beyond her self-created walls and rebuild the waste places.

With each challenge we have encountered, we became stronger in our faith. We may provide links to other sites that provide more detail on our church history or particular events in our past.

We invite you to become a part of the Chrisco church today and a piece of its history tomorrow. Mbita brethren have adopted the vision and today we are experiencing the love of God in this community here poverty has been the order of the day/ God is doing great things in our midst.
