Diamond Plaza

Diamond Plaza is a popular location for a lot of people in parkland. It has hundreds of shops for almost anything. It is located in parklands some 15 minutes from Nairobi CBD and a cab cost about kes 200. I used to frequent the plaza in my second year of campus because of two things. One, I had guitar classes there. I don’t recall the name but my tutor was amazing. I made a lot of progress in one month, it’s baffling. This is the go-to place for music classes. The other reason is the shawarma and at times mishikaki from shawarma corner. It’s the best I have had in Nairobi. The right balance of spices makes the flavor in every bite heavenly and it goes for kes 200 per piece. You should visit diamond plaza and discover those hidden gems.

I usually visit Diamond Plaza to attend my yoga class on Saturday mornings but I decided to try out their ANGA cinema one Friday evening. The cinema at diamond plaza is located on the 11th floor of the building. Until just recently, I had absolutely no idea that Anga Imax had a branch at Diamond Plaza and I am absolutely glad that I found this hidden gem. Right from the second you step out of the elevator on 11th floor, the entire floor is a vibe! The reception is magnificent with a plush maroon circular couch sitting at the center of the floor and a huge chandelier hanging over it. There is a massive mirror on one of the walls, that in a manner I cannot explain just adds onto the aesthetic. There is a beautifully decorated corridor with flower pots and miniature bicycles, stools and park benches giving you a serene outdoor feel and is great for taking pictures. The staff at the reception were extremely friendly. The tickets were cheap in comparison to the other imax branches that I had to confirm whether there was on offer but the lady at the reception affirmed that those are indeed their regular prices. In addition to this the 3D glasses are absolutely free. I had large sized popcorn that was delivered to me at my seat. At first they were extremely salty so I took them back and they promptly made me another and brought them to my seat. It’s a cinema experience you definitely want to try.
