El Karama Lodge

It’s hard to summarise our magnificent experience at El-Karama. We have experienced safari-goers, used to high-end lodges; El-Karama is up there with the very best. The lodge itself sits on the banks of a river and is large and open, with beautifully kept grounds, gorgeous rooms, a lovely pool, and at least three mess areas all built from local stone and reclaimed timber, with thatch roofing. The care was exceptional; Gabby and his team are something special. The food is outstanding; every care is taken to ensure you have a great experience. From surprise bush-breakfasts to overnight in the bush under the stars. This is a professional team that made our family trip feel like a honeymoon. The game is abundant in El-Karama and we had superb sightings. As it is all private you can drive off the track as much as you like- a great privilege. We will come back to this beautiful part of Kenya and stay in El K again, and recommend it without hesitation. Our sincere thanks to Gabby, Robbie, David, Michael, Lovey, Johnston, and all the other staff whose names I cannot remember but made us feel welcome and special!
