Selection and Training The selection of our security guards is carefully conducted by our personnel department, in a clearly set selection process, who ensure that only individuals with records of good conduct, literate and fluent in both English and Kiswahili among other specific requirements are picked for training. The recruits must posses a certificate of Good Conduct from C.I.D Headquarters. After selection, they undergo a vigorous training under our experienced training officers for a minimum of 3 weeks under direct supervision of Managing Director. The training covers areas such as – Criminal detection First Aid skills Drill Company code of conduct Fire fighting skills Self defense Patrol Search Techniques Environment and social responsibility VHF Radio and Telephone Communication. At the end of the training, they undergo some tests in the various areas of training, both written and oral to ensure their level of competence. The guards assigned to a specific client are specially selected to meet the clients specific needs. Additional training is provided at no extra cost to ensure the guards meet the requirements. Immediate and regular relief of duty personnel as necessitated by leave, sickness or other absence is provided at no extra costs to our customers. Only additional requests for guards by clients over and above the signed contract will be charged. b. Uniform and Equipments Our guards are issued with complete uniform (trouser and shirt) which are issued free of charge. It also includes a free pair of military boots, pullovers, raincoats, J-Cap, whistle, lanyard, baton and a torch. We also supply them with bar of soap and shoe polish for their personal cleanliness to ensure they are neat at their office of duty. Batteries are also replaced at our cost. Uniforms are regularly checked and replaced to ensure that our corporate image is maintained. d. Patrol The company management emphasizes on high standards of discipline among its personnel to ensure they maintain high standards of service and that clients gets value for their money. Our supervisors are in contact with the security guards who have portable ( hand held) radios and are also in contact with the Kenya Police in case of emergencies that require Police assistance. Our guards are also required to record in our occurrence books (OB) any incidents encountered during performance of their duties and with this information we are able to advise and serve our clients our better. e. Handling of complains Clients complains regarding our guards is channeled to the office and the Manager-in-charge will ensure that the complaint receive the attention it deserves. 3. DOG SERVICES For clients who wish to secure dog services over and above the guard services, FORMULA ONE SECURITY offers mature and well-trained dogs. The company provides the dog which comes with a dog handler (as a package). The dog handler is a security guard who has received more specialized training in dog handling to ensure such a dog does not become a hazard to other innocent persons and property in its area of deployment. At no time will such a dog be handled by an inexperienced guard. The dogs are dropped and picked from the clients site at the company cost for and after the assignment. 4.
