Havana Restaurant & Bar sits on Westlands’ “electric avenue” — a strip of bars with so much weekend traffic that the streets are as busy at 3 a.m. as others are at midday. This venue is small, with two floors and great DJs that spin club music. It’s the perfect spot to experience Kenyan nightlife.

If you’re not one for a late night out, head to Havana at around 6 p.m. to take advantage of the more relaxing music and great food. Try the pressed pork belly or a chicken burger with a side of crispy onion rings.

I don’t know much about cocktails but my girl assures me that Havana has the best cocktails in town. It’s located along Mpaka rd some 15 minutes from Nairobi CBD and a cab costs about kes 250. There are plenty of clubs within that vicinity. Regardless, Havana stands out because its clientele knows what to expect every time they pop by. I have been there once with my partner. They have ample parking and the establishment is specious. They also have offers on happy hours. I liked the music they played throughout the time we were there. One thing I did not expect was to get that drunk on cocktails. Their prices a fair ranging from Kes600 to kes 1000. I had three glasses of Long Island and I don’t remember the rest of the night after that. It’s an amazing place. 10/10 would recommend.

HAVANA OH NA NA NA!

4.6/ 5

I don’t know about you but I love my cocktails strong and Havana’s cocktails are just that. They serve some strong, exotic, and pocket-friendly cocktails. The kind of cocktails that comes to mind when you’ve had a long day and would love to be knocked off to sleep in a sweet but solid way, the kind that you sip as you catch up with your people, polite drinking that ends up with a few falls, a laughing fit, and memories too dear.

COCKTAILS:
Havana has a short and manageable cocktail menu. All of which range from Kshs. 400 – Kshs. 700 1.) Long Island (Kshs.650) made of iced tea, tequila, rum, gin, and vodka all carefully balanced to birth this badass cocktail. Long Island is FUN in a long glass, it goes down so well and the first sip sends you straight to the zone. I love to describe it as a ‘cant-walk-straight’ drink. 2.) Pina Colada (Kshs.450) one word for this drink, YUM! It has pineapple juice, rum, and coconut crème all perfectly mixed, it’s so damn good. 3.) Lime Margarita (Kshs.440) margarita, tequila, and lime. Margaritas made with fresh-squeezed lime with all the citrusy aromas and the peppered salt on the rim are just a hit. Highly recommend this drink. Truly and hands down the best cocktails in town.
