About us

Inooro means “the sharpener”. The station aims at sharpening the listeners’ minds to empower them in facing their day-to-day challenges. Inooro TV (with 17.2% reach in Central province and 5.1% national reach, based on the latest KARF report) is the leading vernacular television station by reach and market share in Kenya.

Established in October 2015, the vision of Inooro TV was to tell local stories in vernacular by International Standards and through such a vision keep the Gikuyu-speaking audience up to date with local and international news and events as they happen, entertained with high-quality programming which leaves them educated.

In the short four years since launching Inooro TV, the viewership has kept rising signaling satisfaction by the audience. We have won several national awards the latest of which is the Media Council Journalist of the year where reporter Waweru Nyambura was runner-up in the Governance Category and a plaque of recognition from YouTube.
