Biblica’s mission is to provide the Bible in accurate, contemporary translations and formats so that more people around the world will have the opportunity to be transformed by Jesus Christ.
Since its formation in New York in 1809, Biblica has helped people beyond the reach of God’s Word discover the love of Jesus Christ. Biblica’s ministry operations in Africa launched in 1976 as Living Bibles. Since then, we have undergone several name changes. In 1992 the merger of Living Bibles and International Bible Society christened the organization International Bible Society. Today, we are Biblica: The International Bible Society. The Biblica Africa office is domiciled in Nairobi, Kenya and acts as the coordinating office for ministry across Africa.
There are 4 regional hubs charged with carrying out the Biblica Africa mandate centered on Gateway Translation, Rising Generations, and Frontline Church. These hubs are Southern Africa, West Africa, East Africa, and North-East Africa. Out of these regional hubs, Biblica trains and equips partners to deliver ministry throughout the continent. So far, we are partnering in ministry programs in close to 30 countries in Africa.
