Millennium Restaurant

Unfortunately, this restaurant is a total disappointment. They called me for an interview on a particular day, and I showed up in the morning as agreed. When I got there, I met four other ladies who were also waiting to be interviewed. The restaurant’s supervisor arrived one hour later, and contrary to what we expected, she didn’t give us a formal interview. Instead, the supervisor told us to start working, and she specifically asked me to wash the gent’s toilet, which was a big deal for me considering I had direct contact with the food and guest, and I had applied for a waitress position. She didn’t even assess us as she had said; she just left for the salon almost immediately. After eight hours of working, she told us that our training was almost over. We felt very discouraged because she had not said that we were training; we felt used. The restaurant and the kitchen are dirty, and pests like rats are all over the kitchen. The washrooms are very outdated, and they even gave staff deep-frozen Ugali. Imagine deep-frozen Ugali, who freezes ugali indeed. After working on our Stations, she came for us and asked us to peel potatoes in the middle of the service. Again we were very disheartened. The supervisor was very rude to us and made us feel less of humans. When we were leaving at around seven at night, we expected to receive our pay for the day as it’s their custom to pay their staff every night, but they didn’t. She just told us to leave our telephone numbers and that she would call us to confirm if we had qualified for the job. Everybody was very upset as it was clear that she had just used us for free labor. As soon as I got home, I received a text from the same supervisor telling me that I was the one who had qualified for the job and I should report the following day. I thanked her, gave her my review, and told her what I felt should be improved at the restaurant, considering I have worked in several restaurants and know what needs to be done to improve the restaurant’s performance and attract more customers. But she just sent me a hostile message saying I am full of rubbish; she made me so angry. I also realized that the staff is overworked and underpaid. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a job, dining, or takeaway, but I would recommend the restaurant to change its management.
