Proactive Merit is an early stage agribusiness engaged in packaging and selling of raw honey from Makueni-Kenya. It is a partnership between entrepreneur – Catherine Mbondo and her mother – Asha Mbondo, a veteran farmer in Makueni. We engage small holder farmers to produce premium raw honey for sale in Kenya. The team currently comprises 40 contract farmers collectively producing 1 tonne of honey annually. Our long term vision is to have beehives suspended on all acacia trees in the region through the project Every acacia for a hive. This project purposes to eradicate charcoal burning activities. One acacia tree burned down generates 10 USD while 5 hives suspended on the acacia generates a recurrent income of 300 USD per annum.
