Come for the Safari stay for the atmosphere!
Our first time visiting Shaba and it was everything we hoped it would be! The place is beautiful and calm, It immediately makes you forget reality. As you approach the main entrance of Shaba you are welcomed with freshwater flowing from the springs. this indeed was breathtaking! Situated on an oasis next to the Ewaso Nyiro river it’s the only lodge in the Shaba national reserve where wildlife abounds including the rarely seen cheetah. The staff and the manager, Alex, were more than helpful to us. He even arranged our special dinner on the island in the pool, complete with a charming guitarist serenading us. It was perfect! You hear the water from the many springs as you walk the grounds while enjoying a drink in the expansive bar with a pool table, dartboard, and multiple beer taps. The manager Alex. made us try the resident tilapia, trout & catfish fish pedicure and it was the highlight of our trip. The room was cozy and spacious too. The dining area was also a favorite for me, especially our spot where we could hear the river so close by. Steven cared about your day and how you like the food he prepared. Jackson and Collins were always there with a smile to talk, make you a coffee, or pour you a drink. These are just a few of the wonderful folks there, investing their time to take care of their guest. After having dinner we could always go and watch how the crocodiles were being fed. What a gem Shaba is! We desire to go back to Shaba, as coming home to a group of friends and family!
