Sundowner Lodge

This is a really old hotel near lake Nakuru that has now become a household name for many. It’s located some 15 minutes from Nakuru CBD. A cab costs about kes 250. I have been there a couple of times with my folks. They like the place especially on Sunday afternoons when they make amazing nyama choma. The architecture is old, nothing fancy but it feels cozy. One thing about places that don’t look so good is that their food is usually very tasty. Compensation maybe? The sitting area is tiny and you are likely to miss a seat at peak hours. I like that the staff always ask how your day has been before handing over the menu. There is also a view of lake Nakuru and if you want, you can stroll to the fence of lake Nakuru national park.
