Scenic, Peaceful, Lovely Lodge with Superb Hospitality!
The lodges along Lake Elementaita provide a great jump-off point for either Lake Naivasha or Lake Nakuru. We managed to secure two rooms at a reasonable deal at Pelican Lodge in spite of the fact that it was the Labor Day weekend, and we did a last minute booking when many of the accommodations in the area were fully booked. The lodge itself is situated just beside the lake, making for great sightseeing opportunities. Access is very easy from the high way once inside you leave the hustle and bustle of the world, it is a very quiet well-organized hotel and the only noise you will hear is of the birds singing Swifty on the trees, a short walk takes you to the lake where you have a wide array of birds without any interruptions or distractions, Unfortunately though, when we were there, there were not many birds to see on the lake, though the staff assured us that there were more birds at other times. We spent 2 Days at Pelican Lodge and the experience was amazing! Rooms are spacious and magical and the Beds with African design were admirable! the whole lodge interior design is to die for!! Very vibrant and unique pieces. We learned that most of the furniture was actually locally made. Even the complex itself – kudos to the owners for giving the local people jobs and an income by using their skills. Seriously I wish I could take the room home with me, the bed was SOOOOOO comfortable and the outside showers were amazing!!! There is a first to everything here. The food was lovely and the drinks prices were actually affordable, unlike other lodges I have visited near that area. OHHHH how could I forget the breathtaking sunset – warm lavender, the orange glow, and the blushing clouds canvasing the sky. We were serviced excellent food throughout our stay, and the Chef got every special request right. We had absolutely no problems. The staff is very friendly – Mildred, Martha, Samuel, Michael/Mark – 4 staff who all provided exemplary service! There are 4 outdoor tables very close to the lake – very serene for breakfast & lunch! In the evening, guests can enjoy lovely walks to the lake with guides – enjoying the great Acacias, various birds & the lake itself. Sundowner service is also available. The swimming pool is also well maintained. Perhaps not a place for kids’ enjoyment as few activities, but more for couples & those seeking peace away from urban noise! The woodland habitat is kept intact here allowing other species to thrive and thumbs up for that! I cannot forget the high-speed WIFI
