Thrift Social

This is an annual event held at The Alchemist in Westlands Nairobi. As the name suggests, it’s organized for thrift merchants to display and sell their products while the crowds indulge in food, drinks, and great music. The thrifting happens during the afternoon and then there is the main concert from 6 pm. I went for the most recent one. The ticket costs KES1000 and there is usually a dress code. The event starts at 12pm but I got there at around 4 pm. There was already quite a number of people there. Past the entrance, there are already thrift merchants displaying their products. This event usually highlights the best thrift products so you should come prepared to spend. I got to buy my current leather wallet. I love that wallet. There were also a number of joints selling fast food. Once the sunset, the Nairobi nightlife came to life. There were joints selling all kinds of alcoholic drinks. The performance was also great. This event is worth the try at least once in your lifetime.
