Beautiful prints at affordable prices

The first time i saw this logo i was actually scared to enter and shop because i assumed everything would be expensive. I've been a loyal customer since 2011 when they opened their first branch in Nyali centre Mombasa. Those days their tags read RT not like nowadays MRP. I remember I was heavily pregnant with my first and my mom is the one who took me to shop from their maternity section. Their style and variety was simply out of this world 😍. They have a couple of branches in Nairobi especially in these big malls. I frequently visit the one at Sarit centre or junction. All their branches are easily accessible by mat. I love that their price points are very affordable with Prices ranging between Ksh.150-4000. All their shops are well lit, clean changing rooms and friendly staff if you need help with something. I have to say I am quite sad that their quality has really gone down over the years. The clothes they produce now are not the same as from way back when. The clothes are not durable as they start tearing very easily and the color fades quite fast. Me I used to finish all my coins here when I used to shop for official wear 3years ago..they were so on point and unique. Not like nowadays where you can find everyone in Nairobi having the same style. Then their trousers dont cater to us girls with curves🥲 My mans used to love their shirts and t-shirts but since the quality went down he'd rather shop from Lc Waikiki. I don't even shop for me nowadays instead I shop for my kids especially the girls section has such cute clothes. Whenever i shop for my kids i start with the clothes that are in their PRICED TO GO bcz they are heavily discounted and you can never miss something to add to cart. And has anyone noticed that nowadays they don't even have flat shoes or cute sandals anymore 😔. This was my one stop shop for ballerina or official flat shoes because of how affordable they are....the most expensive would be at most Ksh.1100. Even their jewelry selection has just been very boring of late. I would say their store is no longer family centred like the good old days. Their target group market is from age 1-21years. And you should note that they no longer give out bags to carry your shopping..you have to buy. The small bag is 10/=,medium 15/= and large 20/=. They are trying to encourage guys to recycle. Don't get me wrong I still love Mr. Price but I just wish they would pull up their socks and cater to all age groups.

Best affordable salon with unique braiding hair styles

This has always been my go to for anything that has to do with braiding. They are located off Ngong Road on Menelik road a building by the name Menelik suites. It is easily accessible by mat (50/= from town to Adam's acarde) or Uber. Though, when you go by mat, you'll have to walk for approximately 15min or you can panda boda. The salon offers a variety of services from braiding, weaving, nail manicures and pedicures plus barber services for the gents. I would say this salon is very affordable with a price range between Ksh.500-5500. They operate between 9am-6pm everyday except Sundays. Services are on appointment basis, so I made sure to book a 9am appointment 2days before. I noticed they already had 2 customers by the time I was getting in...meaning they are flexible with their time. I have to say i love the new revamped space..it looks more chic and beautiful. They have a wall dedicated to different braid sizes and colors for you to choose from. I love that their braid prices are very pocket friendly (Ksh.70-400) so you don't need to buy braids from supermarket. Whenever i go for braiding i always make sure to have washed+treated my hair the day before just so i can save on time and money. They charge 1500/= for treatment and when i go to my local salon i pay 300/=. Sarah was the person braiding me and she is very kind, fast and gentle on the scalp...I didn't even get that headache you get after braiding. We were done within 1.5hrs. I paid 2080/= for the cornrows inclusive of braids. The owner of the space loved the design so much she decided to post my look on their Instagram page. I would recommend this salon 100%. They cater to young children too so please don't miss out in bringing your little ones to get bomb hair styles. I am looking forward to getting River locs for my birthday in June

Unique menu with Café style Asian food

Stumbled upon this place thanks to New years shopping for my kids. What drew me was the perfect lighting and cute aesthetics...gosh just spectacular! And don't get me started on their food presentation 🤩 so artistic you'd just want to stare at it all day😄 This is a boutique Japanese bakery. It is located in Sarit centre, level 1 phase 3...just next to Woolworths. Their menu is affordable with prices ranging between Ksh. 200-1300. Very friendly staff and the ambience is just perfect for hangouts, reunions, long talks. Not knowing anything about Asian food I just ordered with my gut. I had the mixed berry cold pressed juice (550/=) to refresh my palate as I was waiting for the Mushroom bao 1000/= (stir fried mushrooms and pak choy served with hoisin sauce). I loved the freshness of the ingredients and the seasoning was balanced. I would say it was okay considering I've never tried vegetarian meals before. The portions were small in my opinion....considering I've paid all that,I'd rather go buy pizza. I have also tried their brown sugar cookie Latte (450/=) and it tastes like a fresh batch of cookies paired with a warm cup of coffee on a misty morning. And the size of cookie it comes with is huge. Their lattes can come hot or cold depending on your preference. You should know that their menu is strictly vegetarian so if you are a meat lover keep that in mind. Recently I've been seeing hype on their Souffle pancakes and that is definitely next on my to-eat-list.

Real Italian pizza!

In the 4 years I've lived on Waiyaki way,not once had I bothered to enter 360° pizza🤣. So early January I saw they had a BOGOF on all their pizza and I said why not! They used to have 2 branches but the one in Rosslyn Riviera was closed. Business hours are between 11am-10pm. I would say their restaurant gives me Java vibes but minus the beautiful wall art. Prices are affordable ranging between Ksh.400-1600. When you get in you have the option of where you'd like to sit so me+my friends decided to sit in their terrace. We were immediately handed our menu by Maya and I noticed the pizza is divided into 2 categories: Pizza rosso (non-vegetarian) and Pizza Bianca (vegetarian). We are all meat girls so we went with Spicy lamb Sausage (house-made spicy lamb Sausage, mint pesto, mozzarella, roasted zucchini) and Memphis chicken (house-made bbq sauce, mozzarella, roasted chicken breast, red onions cilantro). On a normal day we would have paid 1350+1450 but since it was BOGOF we paid 1400/=. The wait time was long because of the many orders. We had to wait a good 40min. Then when the pizza came the toppings were so scarce mpaka I asked Maya kwani why was the chef shorthanded on the toppings. She of course gave the excuse of too many orders and if I wanted more they would have to charge me extra 🙄. Anyway, I still enjoyed the thin, leopard spotted crust and blistered cornicione😋 with the fresh and natural toppings...it's literally an authentic taste of Italy in Kenya. I've had Italian pizza before in Whitesands hotel msa and they taste literally the same. Its smokiness from the wood that elevates the taste for me...sooo yum!! The taste is unlike any other pizza bcz it comes from wood burning oven...wachana na hizi modern ovens that use gas. I would highly recommend you try them out though avoid days where they have offers.

It was both good and bad

2 years ago,my cousin gifted me a human hair wig. I needed a specialist bcz this hair was worth a lot and I didn't want to install it at just any other salon...what if they ruin it. So as I was searching for a specialist, almost everyone kept on recommending this salon. So I called them up,booked an appointment for 9am at Greehouse branch. I get to my appointment 10min earlier so I decide to ingia Naivas get breakfast bcz at that time I was heavily pregnant na crazy cravings. I go back to the salon, sit to eat my food as I wait. When 30min passed I was getting frustrated bcz other clients are just walking in and immediately start their appointment. I called the guy (Patrick_the_stylist_2020) at least 5times na every time it was the same line...niko karibu😡 So the receptionist sees am mad,she decides to ask another stylist from Spritz hair to come in. I was this close to leaving I tell you. Can you imagine the guy comes in 1½hrs later, did he even have the courtesy to apologize 🙄 nope!! Julie came to his rescue he didn't even thank her. She was gentle and quick.. plus I really loved her work. In the end, I was to pay 3500/= but ended up not paying. Last year I went again but this time it was to do my nails for vacation. I booked an appointment with tephnails bcz she is well known for her awesome work. She gets very booked up btw,you need to call 1week in advance. I really loved how quick she is,very neat work and lots of stories too. Her work is just stunning 😍. I did acrylics and paid 3500/=. I recommend you go get your nails done here

Quick hunger fix

Its been a while since I visited this specific branch. They have 2 branches: Adams and Mombasa. They open daily from 9am-9pm. Food price ranges between Ksh. 390-1400. Their menu is not wide it's basically loaded fries, burger and pizza. Their decor is fun, playful bright colors like red, yellow, pink, orange which matches so well with the wooden table tops. Their best seller is definitely the loaded fries. Comes in 9 flavors: Classic,Poussin, Furious, Carnivore, Pizzato, Dynamite, Hotshot, Steak & Chips and Ultimate. My favorite is Carnivore 550/= (loaded chips topped with beef gravy sauce, bbq sauce and beef bacon strips) or Dynamite 550/=(crispy chicken popcorn on a bed of loaded chips with your choice of spicy buffalo sauce or non-spicy mayo sauce). Their food never disappoints and portions are huge. Sometimes I opt for deliveries. Delivery for orders over 1500/= and within 5km is free, then 200/= for orders over 5km-12km. Next on my to-eat- list is their pizza and burgers.

It’s smash time!

My go to after watching a movie hapo century Cinemax Sarit. They have 2 branches: Village market and Sarit. Business hours are 9am-9pm daily. Meals range between Ksh.150-2300. Their decor has a black, orange, white color scheme and it looks very cool especially the art. Very fantastic ribs I must say. I've had the ½kilo pork ribs old school bbq flavor (1500/=). Very tender and flavourful. My only problem is sometimes they come hot and other times baridi....so it's a hit or miss. The shoestring fries (small 150/=) are very crispy and seasoned vizuri. Though once they cold, they become hard. Roco burgers have 3 sizes: 100g,150g and double up 2x100g all with different prices (ranging between Ksh.450-1100) depending on the type of burger you want. I've had their Cheese+Bacon (750/= for 150g smash). It has smash, bacon, aged cheddar, sweet pickle, tomatoe, red onion and roco mayo. Me anything that has bacon, consider me sold 😋it's actually not that bad but it really didn't blow my mind either...I've had better. One thing I didn't like about them is their service, very poor. Kwanza on weekends, you might want to cry. I just wish they would train their staff and remind them what they actually came to do. I recommend their ribs..I just wish the portions were kidogo more. Funny thing is I've never had their wings, that is next on my To-eat-list.

African Gourmet burgers

As one of the first street food vendors, these burger mama's (Natalie & Samantha)gathered attention very quickly in Nairobi. They were the talk of town. The sisters have used their platform to showcase the stereotype-busting cosmopolitan youth culture and Kenya's vibrancy (and it shows of in their decor). They have 4 branches: Westlands, Rosslyn Riviera mall, Karen and Kilimani. Each have their operating hours but they are always open Monday to Sunday- except Karen branch which doesn't open Mondays. The alchemist branch operates from 10am-10.30pm. On Fridays and Saturdays they extend till 2am. Food prices range is between Ksh.150-1200. My go to is always the Nollywood suya saga (Ksh.990). It's a paprika spiced beef patty with sautéed onions, mama's special honeyed nutty mayo, garnished with rocket, and homemade only the brave hot sauce. Let me tell you Maina, this burger slaps!! And there's none out here in the streets that can top this. The flavors are perfectly balanced you won't even feel the heat plus it's very juicy 😋 I've also tried the Mango maasai mama (990/=) it has a beef patty, chilli mango mayonnaise, orange cheddar cheese, mixed salad, gherkins, and roasted red bell pepper. Don't get me wrong, the burger is seriously delicious but it was too sweet for my palate. All burgers come with standard potatoe fries and sauce of your choice. If you want sweet potato fries or plantain, you add an extra 150/=. They have 5 speciality sauces which go for 50/=. My only issue with them is service, its very terrible. They really like to sit in their trailer, and you sometimes have to call them out. Then the delivery part is also worse bcz they take really long (at least 1hr waiting time). Other than that, I am looking forward to trying out their new dishes like Pizza and ribs, I've heard good reviews.

Best Frozen and chilled foods

I was influenced by Fashionablestepmum to try out this store. What drew me was the sale they were having on Ben&Jerry's icecream a while back. Can you imagine getting an 1100/= worth tub for 300/= 🤤 They have 3 branches: New muthaiga shopping mall,Lavington business hub and Highridge Parklands. I love that they are always operational even on the holidays when everyone seems to have closed shop. At first I was skeptical on trying out frozen foods because I thought they'd be bland. Weh! Now am addicted to some of their frozen foodstuffs. They are also very quick to cook because most of them come pre-made. Prices are affordable ranging between Ksh. 100-4000. I'll let you in on a secret, download their app so you can know what Frozen foods are on sale. I have only visited the Lavington branch twice. I prefer delivery because it's FREE🙂. This whole month they've been having a sale on shrimp (from 3900/= to 1950) and trust you me, I have bought it every weekend bcz my it's my hubby's favorite. The top 2 brands I recommend for frozen pastry is Filosophy and Dely. Please try them out, you'll never know what you've been missing on.

Eyewear boutique

I was influenced by Sharon Mundia to try out this store. It is located in Rosslyn Riviera mall, lower ground floor opposite the food court. Business hours are between 11am-5.30pm. Prices are affordable and fair ranging between Ksh.4000-12,000. They also sell the high end type so can pay as high as Ksh.25,000. I love how clean the space is, very friendly staff, the green Turquoise wall paper with the wooden shelves just makes the place look very beautiful. If you want an eye exam you pay Ksh.500 for 20min. I would recommend getting one because you don't have to have bad eyesight, there can be other health issues that can be caught earlier. After the exam, you immediately start choosing the frame you want as they make the lenses to your specification. I asked them to add antiglare (to protect against blue light esp my phone) and photochromic (when am outside in the sun). Such a great variety of quality frames you'd literally want to buy them all 😃. Surjit is the best if you need help picking up a frame. When done, you pay then pick up the frames after 5days. You can pay via mpesa, cash,Visa or insurance. Go visit them for your own personalized experience, they can help you find the perfect pair 👓

Gel X specialist

You see those ADs that pop up on IG as you browsing, that's how I came across this business. I was curious to find out what these Gel X nails were because they claim to be the only nail spa providing them plus the pics were looking bomb!! I booked an appointment 3days in advance, can you imagine? Azin that place gets so busy wacha tu! Another day I tried a walk-in ati just do Gel...I was beyond shocked to see how busy they were and it was just 9.45am. They are located in Pioneer house 4th floor. They actually share the same floor as Cierra perfumes. It's just a kawaida room with 6 nail stations and plain white walls. Price range is between Ksh.1500-5000. We got started right away and within 2hrs I was done. I paid 4000/= for Gel X and 500/= extra for them to do a French Manicure (which was very unnecessary in my opinion). They charge as if it's an art yet it's just lines on the tips and bcz Carol didn't tell me, I would have opted for plain Gel. I've been to many nail bars and I've never been charged for French. I would recommend downloading something to watch as you get your fix. I highly recommend Gel X, it's way better than acrylics or stickons. I had the nails for a good 7weeks and not even one fell off or broke. They charge 200/= for removal and my nails were healthy and long. Go support Nina...refer all your friends here ❤

Came across this page thanks to social media influencers. Most influencers I follow would persistently mention this page....and i would tell myself one day I'll purchase something from this store. They recently opened a physical location on Muthangari road (somewhere close to those sides of For You Chinese restaurant). Business hours are between 9am-7pm (Mom-Sat) 10am-1pm (Sun). Such a cute store with the velvety chairs, floral vibes and a wallflower for you to take pics. It's not completely finished but it's still cute. They source all their clothes from the UK so you are sure to buy big brands like H&M,Next,Shein,Fashion nova etc. Prices are on the higher side but you have to keep in mind that these clothes are shipped in. They range between Ksh.2500-7800. For now, they stock only children's and women clothing. I went when they had an offer which I saw on their Instagram stories. My dress was going for 7000/= but I got it for 3500/=. They have provided customers with a ring light in the changing space so you can take bomb videos or pics. I would highly recommend you try them out because they have really quality and unique clothes.

Pocket friendly nail services

Came across Maureen's page thanks to Joanna's influence. She had been speaking very highly of her services. She operates between 8.30am-7pm. The services are on appointment basis because they are only 2 nail technicians. I noticed she gets really booked up especially when the holidays are near. I love that she is flexible with her time...for instance if you want an earlier or late appointment bcz you have a function. Prices are very affordable compared to other nail bars. Range between Ksh.100-4500. I had decided to do Manicure and gel application (1000/=) because my nails were horrible thanks to Delish nailbar where I did my acrylics(never going back btw). My nails were weak and literally breaking bcz as they were removing them they over filed mpaka it was painful. So I had to let them rest and grow out. I love how gentle she is and her stories are the best 🙂. She is also quick. The only problem I have is that her space is far...ebu imagine walking from Archives mpaka sides za Alliancè Francaise🥲. Good news is that she plans to move in a month or two to Ebrahims side. I can't wait to go back and get my overlays because her work is stunning 😍

Unadeserve kujienjoy

My go to quick lunch spot after a heavy day walking around CBD. They have 3 branches: Kimathi street opposite Nation house next to Java, Total hurlingham opposite D.O.D and UN Avenue Gigiri Rubis fueling station. They operate between. PRICING: Ksh.80-1390. Menu is centered on chicken, chips and Froyo. I love the decor so much, very rustic and beautiful art on the walls. I love restaurants that use oil cylinders as tables...so creative and each has its own art. Service is also excellent, I wonder if Victor is still there because he always does a great job. They serve their fries in newspaper which has Kukito news...I find it very edgy. I like to take advantage of their offers which they have every other day. My favorite offer is ¼ kuku, chips and Froyo for 330/=. Such a steal right!? The chips are nice, crunchy, seasoned vizuri and kuku is not bad either at least it's kidogo moist and not over fried. The Froyo I would think they partnered with Planet yogurt or something bcz it tastes the same. To me its the best restaurant to enjoy fast food. The other restaurants like akina Nevada and Tennessee use their oil so many times mpaka food doesn't taste great...giving it a ka-burnt taste. I can attest hapa they use clean fresh oil. Follow them on IG to get to know of all their amazing offers

Flavor is their forte

Uzamart let me congratulate you on having me going back to my google/Instagram archives for pics 😅 heh! What a journey. They have 5 branches: Gigiri Box,Craft beer garden (the Souk karen),Waiyaki way Quickmart, Kilimani opposite Casavera lounge and Liquor library tigoni. I haven't been to any of their branches physically but I'll make a point to visit. Their menu is sorely focused on ribs, wings and burgers. Price range is between Ksh.200-1500. I've tried their: 1. Lamb ribs (1400/=)- my oh my! Very very tender..literally fall of the bone and the sauce slaps!! Well seasoned I enjoyed every bit. Ni portions tu ndio kidogo 2. Honey roasted bbq wings- I ordered 12pieces (1000/=)..really loved it too. Everything was well balanced, they were soft, tender and juicy. They have an offer Friday's where you get 1kg for 1000/= 3. Peri-peri fries (200/=) - this is just basically paprika fries with kidogo garlic salt. They were fine...nothing extraordinary. You should note their meals don't come with sides. The sauces they put on the wings and ribs depends on your preference if you want it sweet or extra hot! The honey roasted is the least hot and atomic/Jamaican jerk is extremely hot. I wish they would bring back the BOGOF on burgers because I haven't had a taste yet and they look so mouth watering. Next on my to-eat-list is ordering chicken tenders bcz they have a BOGOF on Tuesdays. At the end of the day, they always keep it juicy and saucy

Best pizza in town

The Dominos at Westlands moved from Fortis to Westlands square...the new building that has Quickmart and many other stores. The new space is definitely bigger bcz they even have an upstairs space. They still share the same space with their sister Coldstone. I also love how they've upgraded their decor game,it's such a cute space. I've really been a fan of their pizza since day1. It's the buttery garlic-oil crust that just has me going back for more. They have 7 branches in Kenya: •UN corner Gigiri •Marsabit plaza•The hub•Nextgen mall •Citymall Mombasa •Shell hurlingham •Westlands. Their operating hours are between 9.30am-8pm. Prices are very friendly and affordable ranging between Ksh.500-1550. All their pizza comes in 3 categories: 1. Classic pizza-this category has 6 flavors. I always go for the BBQ steak (beef steak, red onion, sweetcorn and BBQ sauce) in the chairman size (1350/=). I really love that sauce and how the meat is always tender and in plenty. It's always the one on offer too on Tuesdays for their BOGOF 2. Favorite pizza- this category has 6 flavors. I lean towards BBQ chicken(grilled chicken, red onion,BBQ sauce, sweet corn) and Hawaiian(beef ham&pineapple). If am alone,i get a large (1100/=) and with kids I get chairman (1450/=). These flavors are my kids favorite bcz they don't have spices and are very yummy 😋 3. Ultimate pizza-this category has 8 flavors. My favorites are Extravaganza (beef pepperoni, ham,Italian sausage, beef topping, red onion, mixed peppers, mushrooms & black olives) and Shawarma(bbq sauce, beef vienna sausage, grilled chicken, red onion and drizzle of shawarma sauce). I highly recommend you go try for yourself bcz it will leave your taste buds wanting more..the flavors are just mmwaahh!! I always get the chairman size (1550/=) I love Dominos for their multiple offers like BOGOF Tuesday, 2 Pan pizza @1700/= everyday, BOGOF on medium pizza @900/= if you buy online. I wish they could bring back the kids eat free on Sundays whenever you buy a large pizza. They have a screen for you to see the status of your order, which I find convenient. If you can't make it to their branches, they offer FREE delivery (orders above Ksh.800) within a certain radius. They have a 25min rule in that if you don't get your order delivered within those minutes, you get a free medium classic pizza. At first I thought it was a joke but it actually happened last week on Wednesday. If you follow them on Instagram, you might get yourself a free pizza bcz they have giveaways every other week. These guys don't disappoint, so go treat yourself to an array of delicious pizzas 🍕

Super hero hangout spot

The best kind of love involves amazing food and drink, great views, great company, all in the best rooftop restaurant in Kenya. I have been here twice, last year for mothers day and back in January with my friends (a random walk-in). I would recommend you book in advance so you can be on the safe side. This restaurant is truly the intersection of design, fantasy, indulgence and individuality. I love the views and art that's all over the walls, embracing the heroes from comics. This place is accessible by both Uber and mat..but if you wanna be bougie just use Uber. I noticed this place gets very busy in the evenings from 4.30pm(kwanza Friday and Saturday)bcz these guys make a mean cocktail. Their operating hours are between 12noon-11pm. My first impression of their menu was very confusing bcz it literally looks like a comic book..but Eric made navigation easier and he gave us some recommendations. Some of the meals and cocktails I've had and enjoyed: 1. Prawn+grilled avocado roll (2400/=)- this had spicy tempura prawn, grilled avocado, spicy mango, crispy plantain, guacamole 😋 I've only had sushi once in my life and it made me sick 😫 this time round I decided to conquer my fears and had a taste..and wow!! It left my taste buds dancing bcz everything was so fresh😋 then they plate so artfully so you can eat with your eyes. I recommend you come for sushi here. 2. Breaded calamari (1100/=)- it has szechuan pepper and spicy dashi ponzu. Absolutely crunchy and very moist, soft inside..then plus the sauce 😋 match made in heaven! 3. Chicken teriyaki skewers (1550/=)- with sugar snap salad and peanut sauce. Very tender and juicy..my only problem is its only 4skewers for that price 😭 4. Red miso lamb chops (2400/=)- with spinach tempura and dashi-miso lamb jus. They were just okay nothing spectacular 5. Drinks -range between Ksh. 400- 1100. They are divided into 5 categories: •Heroes•Sidekicks•Villains(Mocktails)•Law Enforcement (0% ABV) and •Parole (15-20% ABV). I thoroughly enjoyed Loki's cup (Tanqueray gin, bourbon, martini rosso, homemade orange bitters) goes for 1100/=. It's the buzz for me🤪 I would recommend starting with Mocktails as you are eating then move up to cocktails I would say the prices are relatively affordable for most dishes and the portions aren't too bad either (utashiba tu). I just wish they would add Happy hour to their menu so I could at least have an excuse to go back as I enjoy that live entertainment. And btw I love that thank you card they give you at the end from the waiter who served you (it's the little things for me). For the ladies, you need to wear some comfortable clothes bcz those chairs are pretty low. Me I had to sit on an angle the whole time bcz I'd won a short dress. Hero is an experience, from the decor, meals, signature cocktails and perfect ambience - your in for a surprise with each visit🙂

I came across their snacks a while back when some influencers were busy promoting the products. It is a proudly Kenyan brand. All their snacks come in 3 sizes: 30g,70g and 150g each with their own price but ranging between Ksh.40-190. Their products are divided into 3 and each has different flavors: 1. Multigrain snacks- only has one flavor which is the rich milk chocolate. Each piece has a crunchy shell and is filled with chocolate at the centre. I can tell you for free this I highly recommend. I love how it easily melts in your mouth leaving you with a burst of flavor. The thing I don't get is why they don't have the 150g pack yet the other flavors have all 3sizes. 2. Multigrain Wavy chips- has the following flavors: Smoky bbq sauce, fiery chili & zesty lemon and smooth nacho cheese. I prefer the fiery chili bcz it is crunchy, seasoned just right and has intense flavor. The best thing is that they are oven baked thus healthy so you don't have to feel guilty when you over indulge as you Netflix & Chill. The other 2 flavors are often not their best sellers so you'll always find them having BOGOF offers. 3. Potatoe chipsticks- has the following flavors: Flame grilled cheese burger, sea salt&vinegar, and tomato ketchup. They are all okay but my go to is Tomato ketchup bcz who doesn't love ketchup? The sea salt flavor i find it too tangy bcz they go ham on that vinegar and the grilled cheese burger flavor is underwhelming to me. All their snacks are crunchy, healthy and full of natural goodness. They season every pack with flavor so delicious a nibble is never enough!

100% true products

They now go by the name True cosmetics except for their two branches in Kimathi and Mama ngina street, who haven't changed. The other branches are: Koinange,Sarit, Westlands square and Nyali Mombasa. This has been my go to for years now and it's where I get hair and beauty products. Their operating hours are between 9am-6.30pm. I find they always have unique hair products that cannot be found in our Kenyan market. They sell a wide range of products from beauty, hair, perfumes, accessories and braids/wigs. I highly recommend you try this store bcz their prices are pocket friendly considering you get legit, unique and quality products. Some products I just can't miss buying and I highly recommend you try are: 1.Silicon bambu treatment 2. Aussie 3min-miracle moist 3. Pure label/Kumkang kind beauty sheet masks (collagen and pomegranate are my faves) 4. Simple hydroboost collection 5. Aunt Jackie's hair oil collection 6. Neutrogena hydro boost cream. The one thing that annoys me though is how their staff especially the town branches like to linger or follow you around as if you are about to steal something. I don't get why they so insecure yet there are video cameras everywhere. Please know there are so many dupes out here so be careful where you buy your products.

Cheapest hotel in Diani

Hands up if the only reason you booked this hotel was because of their offer; pay 3nights stay4 and it's all inclusive 😄😄 Am guilty as charged 🤣 It was around October where hubby and his fellow forester Nation buddies have an annual coast trip to raise funds so they can visit a charity home. Last year was Diani. Since it was short notice I booked with Jambojet 5days before the trip and paid 12k for me and by baby as the others came down driving. If I had known earlier then i would have booked in advance and the flight would have been cheaper. There's definitely many other flight options so be sure to check the net vizuri. You should know from September-December it's peak seasons so book mapema cz flights can be costly. Check in time is 4pm and our flight was set to arrive at 4.30pm. Since I was being picked up by hubby I had no need for taxi. I would recommend you use uber rather than the hotel transportation, it's cheaper since it's a 5min drive from the airstrip. At first the entrance to the hotel was abit confusing and not an attractive site to be honest, you'd think your entering someone's home and not a hotel. You can even confirm that their site doesn't have a pic to the gate bcz its that bad. We were welcomed with refreshments and Kelvin is the one who checked us in as Joel came to help us with our bags to the room. We had booked the family room as it has 2rooms and we were 5. The only downside is the rooms are on the 2nd floor which sucks having to climb all those stairs. They should have been considerate when building the rooms cz of the kids too. Anyway the room is exactly as pictured in their website though the paint was a bit rundown and chipped thanks to the weather. We even saw painters as we walking to our rooms, apparently they paint the hotel 2 a year. We decided to chill in the room as we wait for dinner as guys were tired from all that traveling. Dinner time is 7.30-9pm. We went at 8.30 and let's just say I was disappointed. Food ni kama ile ya any other buffet you'd find in a wedding or local restaurant, then it was like those last last bits. So underwhelming and just kawaida. Alafu,as I was in their choma station to pick their evening special, I got such a ka-small piece I was even wondering like do i look like a child. Apparently, food in this hotel kwishaz,so if you were to come at 8.50pm expect food you'd be disappointed. Azin even the dessert station didn't have the fruits and cakes..bcz we were "late". I was mad kwanza when one of the servers told me ati ukichelewa itabidi ujipange..am like what do you mean and I've paid. Every dinner was accompanied by entertainment just like any other hotel. All I can recommend just go early by 7.45pm. We went back room and we had to put mosquitoe repellents bcz they can be such a nag. Come breakfast, we went at around 8am and it's just the same kawaida food....azin compared to Pride Inn hotels, these guys just don't put in the effort when it comes to food...just lower your expectations. I also don't like the fact yogurt also comes in glasses and not the kawaida mini yogurt cups you get in hotels. And,you can't even carry it to your room. It's a good thing I had a container to carry for my kids later on when they are hungry. The only things I can say I enjoyed was their pool and free unlimited drinks(including alcoholic drinks btw). Please note that it's not ati tuskers,Guiness or Ciroc,Jameson and Smirnoff 🥲 they have their own brew alafu when it comes to liquor it's those dingy pombes like Kibao or Kenya King🤣 And let's just say I drank my heart out especially their cocktails, very superb 👌 They have a snack bar and imagine you can eat for free on their menu. I used to enjoy their pizza and mini burgers. You should also know the beach is not as pictured,it is full of weeds and not as blue. Watch out for beach boys for they can nag you to death, literally!! Check out is at 10am and it was very fast. Their prices are fair and I understood the moment I had my stay in the hotel. We paid about 48k during our stay. Will I be going back? Nope. But I am willing to try out their sister hotel which is the Lodge,I've heard good things. Don't forget to carry sunscreen 😉

Arguably the best ice cream in town!

This place is just pure nostalgic memories of me and my dad. He used to bring me to this joint ever since I was 4years old to enjoy their ice cream and kebabs. They have recently revamped their old branch(Haile Selassie) and let's just say they did a great job! They also added an additional 2 branches: likoni mall and Nkurumah road. Kitambo their aesthetics was red brick walls just like their exterior, alafunot so comfortable plastic chairs (at least nowadays they provide a cushion) and it was self-service for what you wanted to eat. The food was displayed in glass like windows, which you open and close, then pick a plate and tray as you slide it across the various options. Miriam was my best friend but she is no longer there. Today they have revamped the space into the modern day decor from lighting, walls and seating. I love how wide their menu has grown considering kitambo they only focused on snacks, tea and icecream. The price ranges between Ksh.180-1200. My recommendations on what to get whenever you find yourself in Mombasa: 1. Traditional fluffy pancakes (620/=)- 4 pieces of pancakes served with fresh fruit and Maple syrup drizzle. Always my go to bcz of how fluffy and moist those pancakes are, fresh Strawberries and a pan fried banana slice 2. East African chicken poussin (950/=)- half fried chicken, snap fried and tossed in chilli garlic poussin sauce served with your choice of side. Let me tell you that sauce slaps and the way the kuku is moist! You can tell it was made with love 3. Chocolate fudge slice(400/=)- it comes with a side of fresh whipped creamand then the have dusted with cocoa powder. Really love their plating game, very moist and rich cake. They also do whole cakes ranging between Ksh.1200-3000. 4. Midnight cookies and cream icecream (100/= per scoop)- I've always loved their ice creams for being very creamy, freshness of the milk and it always comes with a waffer. They make it everyday btw. I love to buy their 2litre tub just so we can enjoy it with my dad as we watch a movie at home. 5. Strawberry lemonade (380/=)- when is it never hot in Mombasa!? This is the perfect refresher and I love it bcz it has just the right amount of sweetness. Overall, this place perfect for everyone....great food, fast service, very clean and chill ambience. What's even better is their staff are very friendly, accommodating and their suggestions are always top notch. Kudos to Alice for her world class service. They have an offer on Thursdays where you get 2burgers,2chips,2 icecream for Ksh.1200. The place gets really busy btw bcz its like a meeting spot for most wazee in Msa. Parking is also terrible I recommend you just use tuktuk or taxi wgen coming into town. I recommend sitting anywhere you'll find a fan bcz Mombasa can get pretty hot..I don't know why they removed the ACs. Can't wait to go back and try their Nkurumah branch

Good music and great cocktails

If your looking for a weekend plan for somewhere to chill with friends, enjoy sundowners or just enjoy some good music with your partner, then this is the place for you. The location of the restaurant is easily accessible by Uber,Boda or Matatu. From town you'll need to get mats that access waiyaki way then alight on James Gichuru. From there you'll walk for 10min to the restaurant. It's better than getting a mat bcz it's not far at all plus the mats take forever to be full. It's a very beautiful space, made from shipping container parts, high stools for chairs, high Round wooden-top tables, astroturf grass on the floors, the walls are artificial plants, plus great lighting. I really love the ambience and aesthetics of this space. The waiters are very friendly, they show you to your seats and are handed the menu right away. I love to seat at their balcony bcz the solar tends to be so tamu. The menu is not wide, very straightforward and is focused around Burgers, loaded fries and drinks. Price ranges between Ksh. 350-2000. The meals I've tried from their menu: 1. Loaded pork fries (750/=)- very tender pork, loads if cheese and seasoned fries. Though the fries weren't crisp enough for me and they were abit oily 2. Dunken dip beef (850/=)- you basically dip or drizzle the Pineapple teriyaki sauce on your burger for a food coma 😅 the burger has beef patty, caramelized onions, bacon, mozzarella cheese, Cucumber and their Bwibo sauces. I would say very juicy patty, huge portions, fresh bun and Ingredients for sure but I just wish they were consistent on flavor. One time it leaves your taste buds wanting more, the next it's just meh! I recommend dunking it 😋🤤 3. Chicken bacon loaded fries (850/=) - now this I have to recommend 😋 waahh!! It's the best out of all the loaded fries option. I mean who doesn't love bacon!? And the dish is beautifully seasoned and flavors...gosh! Ebu just go and try 4. Bwibo signature cold pressed juice (350/=)- comes in 4 flavors. My go to is Pineapple ginger mint. Very refreshing and perfect for those hot days in Nairobi 5. Cocktails- now this has to be the second best place in Nairobi I've enjoyed a cocktail. Alafu the buzz! 🤪 Let's just say you shouldn't enjoy them alone. I recommend you try Long Iceland Icetea (750/=) plus the portions are just phenomenal. I am so proud of Vanessa (owner), she has really come from far. She used to do home and office deliveries so she could pay for her University fees. That is actually how I came to know about Bwibo. She has really come from far. They have Jazz and BBQ on Sundays from 2pm...make sure you go early or call to reserve. She also does outside catering if you have an event. I'd say it's not a child friendly area yet but she's working on it. The only downside is the chairs are really not comfortable..they are literally bar stools so you can't rest your back or rest your arms. Bring a friend or two, enjoy some bomb cocktails, great music as you support this small business.

Fro-Yo Vibes

This is my go to on days I want something "healthy" and tastes amazing. They have 6 branches: Sarit,Garden city,Junction, Gigiri,Nyali and Galleria. FYI their kimathi branch is no longer operational, I guess they don't get as many customers. I frequent the Sarit more and their operating hours are between 10am-10pm. Their theme is generally pink and green, the space has very great lighting with plastic chairs and round wooden top tables..spaced out and it's generally very clean. When you enter, know it is generally self-service so you have to sanitize your hands then go serve yourself. The cups are already placed for you to pick as you make your way to the pumps that have different flavors. They rotate the flavors monthly so you may never know what to expect and sometimes they come up with new flavors...they are always keeping us on our toes esp someone like me who likes to be adventurous. My go to flavors are Vanilla, Cheesecake, Watermelonade and Cookie coconut. Now I have to warn you that it's Ksh.17 per 10g so you have to be careful with what you put in your cup....especially the toppings (which are very tempting btw). It might look like a small price to pay but when you go weigh...you will definitely be shocked. Just be careful🙂🙂 Their flavors hit the taste buds in the right ways, silky soft and smooth 😋 This place is perfect for everyone esp your young ones..though I would caution you leave them behind if you dont want to leave broke😄Bring a friend or two and enjoy the guilt-free sweet life

Food is love made edible

I don't know how guys have just noticed this place recently yet they have been operational since 2018. This has got to be the best coffee and dessert shop in Mombasa i tell you...compared to Java. They have 2 branches: downtown msa in Bawazir lane and Nyali City Citymall 2nd floor. I frequent the citymall one since it's nearer home and it doesn't get as crowded like the town branch. Its a very beautiful space and I really love the aesthetics..from the pink Neon signage on the flower wall, eames chairs in black and green that go well with the white table top and beautifully lit space. Their prices are very pocket friendly ranging between Ksh. 160-1200. And don't get me started on their generous portions. My go to meals, desserts and drinks (which I highly recommend) are: 1. Loaded fries with beef (600/=) -this is basically fries topped with beef and kachumbari. Chips are soft and crisp,Very well seasoned, fresh salad, the sauce on the beef just yum and the beef is tender. This has got to be their best seller bcz almost everyone orders it 2. C³ burger (800/=)- it has crispy chicken, patty, lettuce, tomatoe and Cucumber. Very fresh ingredients, crisp and tender. The bun is fresh so its soft vizuri which goes hand in hand with the kuku 3. Garlic cheese bread (350/=)- freshly baked bun spread with garlic butter and loads of cheese. Aaaahh let me tell you this has got to be the best I've had, soooo cheesy, fresh seasoning of Oregano spice,garlic.....those flavors,I could cry honestly ...they marry so well together ❤ 4. Nutella freakshake (550/=)- you guys need to try this piece of heaven! I can't even explain to you how amazing this drink was😋 I am craving it as I write this down 🥲 5. Nutella cheesecake (500/=)- love at first bite! very rich, creamy and sweet. Looking forward to trying their Lotus biscoff next when I go back 6. Chocolate Buttons (250/=)- I never knew mini pancakes with chocolate sauce existed until I tried them here. Definitely worth the hype these buttons 👌 So soft and fluffy and I love how generous they are with that chocolate. I always have to grab a box every evening. I should try the oreo and biscoff buttons next time Overall, very good ambience and friendly staff. The place really gets full over lunch hour and in the evening or on Fridays after mosque. You can call in advance make a reservation especially if you will go as a large group. Will I be going back? Definitely 🙂

Finger Licking Good

Who else cried during the KFC chips shortage back In January?? 🥲 heh!! I was suffering alafu the replacement options they were giving us were just a no from me. I remember the first time I had a taste of KFC back in the UK in 2018...like it blew my taste buds away! So when they finally came to Kenya I was so excited...i was among those first people in line. I knew I had to lower my expectations because I noticed even soda za Kenya na huko doesn't taste the same yet same brand. I have visited their Lavington, Waiyaki way, Westland's square, Junction, The Hub, Village Market, and Nyali Msa branches. Some of the meals I've tried from their menu: 1. Wingman (ksh.590) -5 pieces of wings, regular chips, and 350ml soda. This is such a steal for me. I love how sticky they are and the sauce has just the right balance of hot&sweet...it hits the spot every time 👌 I highly recommend this. I noticed that when you dine in the wings are not as big compared to when you get them via a drive-through. And, the branch I noticed that puts bigger pieces of wings is the one on waiyaki way. 2. Streetwise 2 or 3 (Ksh.350-550)- thank goodness they introduced these combos because buying them individually is more expensive 😅 I love the crunch in their chicken, perfectly cooked and moist! the fries are also well seasoned and the portions are good. Download the Jumia food app and get deals on KFC meals 3. Oreo krusher (ksh.290)- is made of ice-cold slush, oreo cookie, chocolate sauce...blended to make this delicious creamy drink. I literally get brain freeze every time I drink this 😏 perfect for those hot days in Nairobi 4. Burgers-without meals they go for Ksh.500 and with meals Ksh.750. I have tried their Colonel and Zinger burgers. Let's just say they are not my favorite because the 🍔 bun is plain and dry. I wish they would add some butter and grill or toast the bun to make it tastier. Plus the portions are small you better off getting their combo meals. 5. Ice cream- 250ml goes for 250/= and 750ml is 550/=. They come in 3 flavors; Vanilla, Salted caramel, and Cookies n cream. To me, there's nothing extraordinary...tastes just like any other ice cream on the market. Overall, great experience with KFC staff, and food....no complaints from me

Boba pearls of wisdom 🧋

My oh my!! If you haven't tried any of their bubble tea and refreshers, I think it's time you treat yourself. They are located in town Koinange street, same street as CJs just a block apart. It's a tiny cute space.....nothing fancy, a mirror and 3 high stools for you to enjoy your drink there. Prices are very friendly ranging between Ksh.240-470. I've been here twice.....and this time I had to take photos so I could post here....I like to post directly in my insta stories. My favorite is the Passion fruit Ade (240/= regular 300/= large). So so refreshing, cold and it's my go to whenever it's hot in this Nairobi. They will ask you how you'd prefer it in terms of sweetness and how cold you want it to be. I like it at 40% sweet with kidogo ice cubes so my drink doesn't get too watered down. I forgot the name of the lady who served me but she is very kind and friendly....she will assist you if you don't know what to choose. Her recommendation is always on point. I've also tried their Caramel milk tea (350/= regular 430/= large). I asked them to warm it a bit since I don't like cold milk 😅 If you like it cold, no problem, they will also sort you. The Tapioca Boba pearls at the bottom as so soft and chewy...kinda like eating gummy bears and they taste coffee/caramelish. I find myself finishing them faster than my drink😁. They provide a straw large enough for the pearls to pass through. Don't go alone, bring a friend or two so you can enjoy the bubble tea

Friendly staff and great ambience

I love me some oven baked pizza that is incorporated with everything from scratch. You can taste the freshness and love that went into this pizza literally 😋 They have 3 branches: Westlands, Lavington and Garden city. I would say their locations are honestly not that convenient bcz you'll need a bodaboda or cab. I frequent Westlands located on the ground floor of Rivaan centre on Muguga green Road off Brookside drive. They have such an extensive menu, some written in Italian words but thanks to their accommodating kind staff ..they will explain everything in great detail. Their operating hours are between 11.30- 9.30pm daily. They have such a beautiful interior space and I love the aesthetics.... it's giving me train vibes, it's like am on a safari . I also love that they are environment conscious by incorporating some recycled pieces. The prices are very pocket friendly considering what you'll be getting is unique and out of this world. I have tried their: 1.BBQ pork pizza in large (1650/=). It has slow braised pork shoulder, mozzarella, house bbq sauce and Pineapple. Aki ni tamu sana and the toppings were generous 2. Chicken wings-with tame Buffalo sauce and BBQ sauce. 5 pieces for 600/= 10 pieces for 990/=. I really enjoyed these and I highly recommend..they really have a nice kick to them..such a banger!! If you find that you cant get the pizza you like from their menu, no worries, they have an option where you can build your own pizza. Regular is 450/= ad large 890/=. The prices of toppings varies depending on your preference and range between Ksh.100-590. They also sell DIY kits which you can make at home. Standard is 1090/= and Gluten-free is 1490/=. This place is perfect for all. I just wish they would have BOGOFs or offers.

This was my go to spot for burgers and ribs until other better competitors came in to town. They have 11 branches: 2 in CBD, Mombasa road,Junction,Mountain view,Lavington, Two rivers,Wilson, Adlife,Garden city and Mombasa-Nyali Cinemax. I frequent the waiyaki way one more coz its only 15min from home. They have an array of square burgers, juicy pork and beef ribs, shakes, cheesy pizzas, grilled chicken among other amazing delicious meals. To top up the experience, they also serve signature cocktails, fruity sangria and their own brew(square bru). In my opinion, their drinks are not their strongest suit, you can get better elsewhere....I would stick to their shakes. I find the food prices to be somewhat on the higher side considering the portions are small. And please note that what you see on their ad or menu is not what you get. Some of the food and drinks I've tried from their menu: 1. Fudge surprise (500/=)- this is a megashake incorporated with ice cream, mill, fudge sauce, chocolate sauce, top deck, chocolate and cream. This i highly recommend 👌 2. Oreo shake (380/=)- very rich and not too overly sweet 3.Bacon and cheese square burger- on its own it goes for 570/= as a meal 790/=. I love it because it's very juicy and sometimes it's well seasoned. They also have a double bacon&cheese (820/= plain 1040/= meal) which I would advise do not order for delivery. Bcz sometimes they actually don't double the portions and yet you've paid...plus the inconvenience of waiting for them to bring the order back can really disappoint..it's better as a dine-in meal. 4. Special grill platters -tender lamb chops with chips (900/=) and FIESTA (1550/=) which has 1 choma sausage, 1 borewores, ¼grilled chicken,3pork ribs and chips. Their meat is most definitely soft and juicy but I wish they would be consistent on the portions...aki sometimes unaweza Pata like 3small pieces. 5. Pizza- they range between Ksh.550-2000. I've tried the Magherita and meat lovers. I didn't like their pizza at all....the flavors just didn't hit it for me. I love the concept of creating your own pizza though..very thoughtful for guys who like being spontaneous. Overall, this space is perfect for all age groups. They have created a space that celebrates its 4 cornerstones: Food,Family, Friends and Fun.

Issa trap!!! Run 🏃‍♀️ 😁😅

You only live once ✌ that is the motto that's always in my head whenever I enter this store🤣 just to console myself so that I don't feel the pinch when paying. Miniso is a Japanese-inspired lifestyle product retailer. They have 9 branches: TRM,The Hub,Westgate, Sarit,Junction, 2 rivers,Village market,Southfield Mall and Yaya centre. My favorite branch is Sarit & Westgate since it caters to us guys of Waiyaki way. All branches operate between 9am-8pm. They sell a wide variety of products from household goods, exercise equipment, cosmetics, stationery and toys. I love how friendly and helpful the staff is. Their prices are soo pocket friendly so you might find yourself filling up your basket but when you get to the counter that's when reality checks in! I love that they have many offers..not necessarily on holidays. I have purchased quite a bit from them since they first opened (3yrs ago) and so far I have no regrets. I really love their facial cleanser (650/=) on days I need a thorough clean, the Humidifier (3500/=) has come through for me on days my kids have a cold/flu and for myself when I had Covid, travel bottle sets (350/=) for when am traveling by flight and I haven't paid for baggage, house Slippers (most comfiest) bcz our house is literallya fridge..etc etc. The humidifier has to be the most expensive thing I bought ever!! The other stuff was below 1000/=. I just wish they would bring back the traveling bottles bcz I have friends who have sticky fingers 😅 I would stay away from the toys bcz they are not durable. They have the perfect protective gear to baby proof your house. And btw they now have an online store thanks to Jumia so you don't necessarily need to go their stores physically. The good thing with jumia is they have discount codes and they have days they can deliver for free..so be sure to get the app. NOTE: Do NOT go with your children 🥲

A taste for life!

It's been a minute since I last visited this joint but in the coming week I will definitely make a point. They have 4 branches that I know of: Two rivers, the Hub, Kiambu road(Golden Eagle spur), and Mombasa road (Eka hotel). The Msa road branch has to be my fav bcz to me it doesn't have that many people esp on Thursdays when they have the bottomless ribs 😋 The ambience is just okay..like any other Java..from the type of sitting arrangement and seats placements with native American decor. My fav ofcourse is the ribs!! So succulent, sticky, fall of the bone, well seasoned and the portions are generous 😃 all for 2000/= and it comes with a side of your choice. For me,I sometimes like to carry a container in my bag (petty i know) but I swear after 2 servings I am always soo full yet I don't want this offer to go to waste😋😅. I have also tried their Apache combo(1800/=) which has 200g ribs,4buffalo wings and 150g pork with a side of fries. Their burgers are yummy too. They have an offer on Monday's for 2 burgers at 1k. I recommend you try their oreo milkshake too. Their menu caters to all age groups and is very pocket friendly with a price range between Ksh.150-6500. I would caution you to go with an empty stomach if you want to enjoy their all you can eat ribs. I can't wait to go back and try the new additions like the Spur prawns or classic waffle or Caramel mint dream. I like the fact they have acknowledged that Kenyans like "party after parte" and now they have alcoholic drinks in their menu 😏😃

Get well soon!

AAR health have so many branches within Nairobi area. The one's I have visited are: Williamson, Green house, City centre and Sarit centre. The one I frequent the most is definitely Sarit. I like to go to these centre's bcz I like to avoid long queues that are normally in the private & public hospitals. Their operating hours are between 8am-8pm depending on the branch. The only branch that operates 24hrs is on Kiambu road. Just 2weeks ago my son was sick and I didn't know what was causing it yet I had given him some medicine at home. In my experience, it's good to go the moment they open or at 8.30am latest just so you can be served fast. I noticed their busy hours are between 9.30-12noon then 2pm-5pm. And if you know it's something you'd need to be tested on let's say blood work, please note lab results take 25min-1hr. Before you get in,you have to be checked for temperature and sanitize then you are given your waiting number. I was served by Cate who asked me for my insurance details and I paid a fee of 1700/= (consultation fee). The fee also varies depending on the insurance you have but they also accept cash (mpesa ie). When you pay cash to visit a general doctor the consultation fee is 1600/=, a pediatrician 2000/= and a specialist is 4000/=. Before you see a doctor you have to go the triage room, where they check your height, weight, blood pressure and temperature. After, we waited for 5min and we were called by the doctor. She recommended we do some blood work. Please note the fees also varies,we paid 1000/= but their prices range between ksh.500-12,000 for lab work. I find this fair compared to other hospitals and considering that they are very accurate and fast. Ebu go to a private hospital and try do a lab test...you will literally run😅 or a public hospital where you can wait for 3hrs+. I love how caring they are with children..my son didn't cry when his blood was being drawn. After 25min,we were called by the doctor and she gave us her final assessment with the drugs we should use. It's great they have their own pharmacy but I would advise against buying from them unless it's urgent or a drug you'd know you wouldn't get elsewhere. They are very expensive btw. Remember I recommended the MyDawa App in one of my reviews, please get it, it's literally a life saver! My bill was coming to 5500/= for drugs and when I went to Mydawa I paid 3500/=. In Mydawa, you just upload the doctor's prescription and within 4hrs or less you receive them. At the end of the day,my son got better🙂 This has always been my go to whenever I am pregnant to do an antenatal profile because their prices are that pocket friendly. My general experience with them is 4.5/5

Nab a burger or two while your at it 🙂

This is the latest food truck in Nairobi located at Riverside Drive. I happen to have across this place thanks to some errand I was running on this side of town. The ambience is just good vibes and chill. Love the decor too..using wheels and oil drums as tables, the orange poofy pillows on white pallet chairs. They are environment conscious guys for sure. Now to the main reason that brought me here....FOOD!! I have to say I really loved their: 1. Chick chikalo - goes for 950/=. It has Southern fried chicken,lettuce/coleslaw,Sriracha mayo😋 let me tell you maina, never have I ever in my 31 years tasted anything this juicy,well-seasoned,tender and super fresh. Like it blew my mind 🤯 the bub was also fresh with butter and soft....it wasn't hard or dry. I HIGHLY recommend ✅ 2. Ngori - goes for 800/=. It is loaded with beef patty, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and nab sauce 😋 also very delightful Overall, their prices are fair. They range between Ksh. 100-1200... that's for everything in their menu from sides,Extras, sauces and the burgers. Their service is also great. No complaints here. All I can say is you need to go try it out for yourself and thank me later 😌

Quality and unique baby skin care

This is my one and only go to spot for baby skincare that I cannot get locally. They are located in Kilimani Souk..the many stalls behind Adlife plaza. In order for you to get there is use an Uber or by mat (either panda the buses going to Yaya centre sides or Adams acarde side). One way or another you'll have to walk to Adlife plaza. Fare is 50/=. They are stall number 44...you definitely can't miss it bcz it's among the first 3 stalls to the right. Whenever I go there I can never miss a product bcz they always restock so fast. Their shelves are always fully stocked and the space is always clean. Did I mention how good their service is🙂I find baby products so hard to resist thanks to their cute packaging. The price of products, to me, I find quite affordable considering these are not products from Kenya. They range between Ksh.400-3500 My favorites are: 1.Aveeno nightbalm (2300/=) - this I highly highly recommend if your baby has eczema and i find it to be the best moisturizer..bcz its not tacky like vaseline..it absorbs into the skin like magic! 2.Pampers sensitive wipes (550/=)- yes I know we also have Pampers in Kenya but these are the only wipes I found best for my girl. The ones here used to break her out giving her Nappy rash 3.Burts bees products- I use this on my toddler. I have purchased their bubble bath, diaper rash ointment, nourishing oil, multipurpose ointment and kids Toothpaste. They are the best natural products with no additives 4.Babo botanicals miracle moisturizing cream (2000/=) - lightweight, soft cream that soothes skin from cuts, rashes and eczema. My go to when Aveeno ain't around. The smell needs a little getting used to but trust you me its the best 👌 Their payment option is by mpesa or VISA. If you can't make it to the store they have a rider( at a fee of course). Please try out this store, you never know what product you have been missing to try out on your young one.

My go-to waxing spot

This a small business owned by one of my friends, her name is Christine. It is located in Westlands at the junction of Muthithi and mpaka road in a building called Aly's center on 3rd floor. From town you can get the mats that come directly to Westlands at globe area...cost is about 40/=. They are open on Monday-Saturday from 9am-6pm. Before entry to to the building, the guards will need your ID details then you'll be able to proceed. No stairs in the building so you'll take the life to 3rd floor. The doors open directly to the business and you will be welcomed by their logo, cute chic decor and very clean spa. Some of the services they offer and their price range include: Manicure (Ksh.1000-4000) Pedicure (ksh. 1200-4000) Massages (ksh.1500-5000) body scrubs (ksh. 1500-2000) waxing (ksh. 1000-4000) Laser hair removal (ksh. 3000-10,000) yoni spa (ksh.1500-2000) eye brow grooming (ksh. 200-400) make up services (ksh. 1000-6000) The services I've done from them are: Manicure,Pedicure and waxing (favorite). Maureen is the lady who does my waxing. She is very gentle and if you dont know exactly what you want, she can advise you. When you enter the waxing booth you will be welcomed by a wax Station, very cool room, relaxing music and a bed that has been laid with towels. They give you a moment to remove your clothes depending on the part you want waxed. I recommend this place especially if it's your first time to wax....don't go to places where you see cheap price tags but then the outcome comes with regrets from side effects like bacterial infection, scarring or burns(speaking from experience). Their wax is very warm and the ingredients are very friendly to our girl😏 I forgot to mention that you have to book an appointment first 🙃. If you want to enquire more about their services, Uzamart has provided a contact for you. FYI men can also wax..just ask for the Manzillian😁. I can't wait to go back and try the yoni steaming and microblading

Best AirBnB in Kericho

Two weeks ago one of my cousins had a function at their maternal home in Kericho. She had sent me a list of some of the accommodations around the area and I was not impressed bcz the prices were abit high and its not like they were worth the price. So I hopped in to Airbnb, searched for an accommodation that would cater to 2adults and 3children and after viewing almost 10 I fell in love with this space instantly. We left Nairobi at 12 and arrived in Kericho at 5.15pm. Since it was an Airbnb we went by the local supermarket Chipkimatt to do our shopping for stuff we'd need including dinner and breakfast. The space is just 3min away from the supermarket which I find very convenient. We arrived at Greypoint Residence by the help of Google maps.....very accurate i must say considering sometimes it misbehaves and can take you elsewhere. Please note check in time is 1pm and Checkout is 12noon. The owner of the space is called Ian and his number is 0710911168. He came, helped us with our luggage and took us to his space which was on the 5th floor🥲. It looked exactly as advertised and it came with a rulebook that we strictly adhered to during our stay. The view of this space is just breathtaking since it's overlooking some of the tea estates and there's also a river nearby.... its a breathe of fresh air (literally!). The space is also clean, serene and peaceful. His kitchen is also heavily equipped with a fridge, microwave, kettle and enough utensils to cater to a group of 6. He also provides towels and toiletries to help you during your stay. The space has a very strong WiFi connection and Netflix so you will always be entertained during your stay. Some of the things we realized we needed were more warm clothes and mosquitoe repellents....so if you are to visit i highly recommend you get those. Incase you find you didn't get everything you need,he has a delivery guy who can bring you whatever you need....at a fee of course 😁 Electricity in the area during the day is not good as it keeps going off and on but its bcz the building is still not 100% finished and there are construction workers who come thus the interference. Will I be going back? Definitely!! I really enjoyed my stay there and so did my family.

Nothing too extraordinary

Memories! Memories! Memories!!This place was my first love thanks to those high school visiting days. My dad used to buy the bucket and chips so that whenever some remains, I sneak them in to school bcz nani angetaka kukula githeri in the evening for supper 😄. I haven't been to this specific branch but I am sure that the taste is the same throughout all their branches. My review will be based on me visiting their Westlands,Ngong Road,Mountain view mall and Nakuru branch. As you know, this is a famous Chicken joint found in the most convenient places esp Petrol stations and you may have spotted one or two along your way home. Their menu comprises of Rotisserie chicken(ksh. 350-1000),chicken pieces (ksh.120-1100),burgers (ksh.400-700),value meals(ksh.150-350). I have to commend these guys for being affordable and having generous portions. My go to is the chicken burger (400/=) and their combo meals (2 pieces and chips for 350/=). A big hurrah to them for saving us during the KFC chips drought😁..though it's not like their fries were 100% the best😌they were really struggling to keep up with the many orders. I should also mention that over the years, their quality has kinda slacked..alafu bei pia zimeongezeka kidogo (I blame gvt though 🥲). I don't know why nowadays they also oversalt their kuku..they don't balance the spices in the flour vizuri. Alafu sometimes the chicken is not properly cooked through and through. This place is perfect for everyone, even better for kids bcz they have a great play area. Some branches even have bouncing castles but on Sundays though. They have "offers" but they totally fake (kwanza the ones plastered on bill boards) bcz when you go to the actual price menu and do the math of the meal...it amounts to the same price. You go see for yourself thank me later. The actual offers are on Jumia and Glovo apps. I can't wait to go back and try their new special - sticky wings 😋

Pocket friendly yummy meals

I have to start with bad news that as of today (5th April 2022) they are no longer operating in Sarit Centre. They are relocating to another area which I am yet to know. This is sad bcz this was my go to spot for wings and burgers whenever I didn't have much in my pocket😄. Their ambience is good vibes, some good street art, very clean, chill, open and airy outdoor setup. It was located near the Sarit entrance at Karuna road side. I love how fast their service is....within minutes it will be brought to you. My favorite days were Monday(buy1get1free on Burgers) and Wednesday (wings+fries combo for 400/=). You have to note that, on days they have offers, you'd probably want to skip out on the plain fries bcz they are never well seasoned and are very dry . Moving along to my favorites from this trailer: 1. Double wheeler -2 100g beef patties going for 650/=. Very juicy and generous portions 2. Power house burger- 100g beef pattie, steak and steak 😋 going for 850/=. This was their best seller. They make so juicy you wouldn't resist and if you had 1 during evening hours, I highly doubt you'd eat dinner since the portions are out of this world. Whenever they had BOGOF, they would throw in some extra cheese slice and give you a side of plain fries. Kwanza their closing day offer leo was crazy!!! Imagine 50% off and they give you fries on the house. The only -ve thing was the inconsistencies of the steak..one time it's soft....other times you'd have to remove and eat it aside. 3. Garlic fries- very very very good kwanza with a side of wings and garlic mayo(50/=) 😋...a match made in heaven!!! These fries go for 200/= 4. Cocktails- mojito special(350/=) my personal favorite and it slapped so good on days it was very hot..alafu their portions..wacha tu! For that price, I'd say you have been missing out on this trailer under the trees. I loved Pineapple mint (100/=) for days I wanted to detox after a heavy weekend 😫 it was my hangover fix and a way for me to "detox". Overall, this place was a solid 4.5/5 for me. Follow their Instagram so you can know where they relocated to next. Or better yet,I'll come back edit this post whenever they'll update us

Home to the best cakes in Kenya!! 😋

This has got to be the best coffee and bakery joints in Kenya...compared to the ones I've tried. My favorite branches are Raphta Square,Westgate and the Oval. I love all these branches for various reasons. Westgate is my go to whenever KPLC decides to disappoint me, brunch with the girls or I just want to escape home and work away from the kids. The Oval is mostly for their live band+salsa night(every Friday 6-9pm with free parking)and their bomb cocktails (FYI Happy hour is every Friday 4-6pm). Raphta Square is for when I want to escape the noise and enjoy some me time with sundowners...it doesn't get that crowded compared to the other branches. Some of my favorites from Artcaffé are: 1.Cakes! Cakes!! And more cakes- if you haven't been to any of their branches then you definitely missing out on their Signature cakes. Baked to perfection, very moist, fresh ganache, creamy and not overly sweet. My faves being Salted Caramel,Cappuccino and Rose cakes. A slice ranges from ksh.390-440 and a whole cake from ksh.3200-4400. A tip: Follow their Instagram to know when they have offers on whole cakes 2.Texas Burger (beef burger, crispy bacon, cheese, fried egg, rocket leaves and BBQ sauce) - very juicy and i love the crunch on their fries. I like to take this whenever they have their buy1get1 free..which is mostly end every end Month and it applies on delivery only. It goes for 1150/= 3. Coffee ☕- Coffee is how the magic happens. Like the magic of me saying words in the right order, the magic of finding my house keys, the magic of remembering what day of the week it is...TA DAHHH!!😅😁 Theirs is very rich, creamy, hot and steamy. Probably the #1 reason people go to Artcaffé. Price range ksh.170-350. You can get it in either single or double. My go to is Cappuccino and vanilla Latte. They recently introduced some new variations which i cannot wait to try❤ 4. Pastries- buttery, flaky and ultimately delicious. My faves being the almond croissant (290/=) and cronut (donut+croissant) in Strawberry (300/=) 5. Breakfast platter- as you know breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Whether you're an early bird, brunch fan or breakfast-for-dinner kinda person..don't miss out in their egg-cellent breakfasts! My fav the English breakfast (990/=) with 2eggs,sausages,baked beans, grilled tomatoe and bacon. 6. Cocktails- good vibes happen at happy hour but GREAT vibes happen when it's jazz+happy hour combo! price range Ksh.990-1100. I recommend you try Cosmopolitan and High roller(new cocktails menu) Overall this restaurant is good vibes with friendly staff, very clean and I love the outdoor/indoor seating.

Soft life 🙂😃

We visited sometime last year August (off-peak season) with my family. We had booked flights a few months in advance which came to about 5500/= (adults) and 1500/= (children). Before booking please note the check in time is 1400hrs. It's a 1hr flight from Nairobi to Ukunda. The hotel has complimentary pick ups. We were picked up by Samy and it was roughly a 7min drive to the hotel. I was wowed by Arab and swahili decor, the melange of modern and medieval architecture is just beautiful...and this sophistication extends to the rooms and suites. I love how they make use of the white decor all over the hotel, really gives a consistent calm and relaxing feel as you move from the lobby to the room. They have 4 types of rooms with different sizes,we booked the Superior garden view room(16k per night on half board). The rooms are amazing with beautiful curved interior,24/7 room service, comfy beds, private balcony, free Wi-Fi and very spacious. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful esp if you walk from the room to the beach area. Their pool is definitely the show stopper, a series of 7 pools interconnected all the way to the beach thus the name Infinity pools. They have 4 restaurants but my favorite was the Zanzibar. They offer a pan-Asian a la carte menu and 2 teppanyaki tables. My fav foods was the seafood platters & chicken wings...and I overate bcz it was that delicious 😋 A huge shout out to Edna,Hudson,Helen and Daisy for the great service, for being kind, friendly and helpful during our stay there. Howeveer, their were some downsides😔: 1. The bar is utterly expensive. A beer and 2 shots was coming to about 2500/= . I recommend you go to Carrefour or anywhere outside at the local bars 2. Too many mosquitoes so carry a repellant 3. The mokeys can be a nag esp when you eating at the restaurant 4. Plumbing issues eg. No water or clogged pipes, leaking sink and I blame the Diani weather since it's very salty 5. Check in and check out took a bit of time...i think their staff are a bit stretched. I recommend you go 1hr earlier..we almost missed our flight 6. Very slow Wi-Fi you can't even Netflix and chill 7. Beach area is full of seaweed and very limited due to proximity of rocks/small reef close to shore but if you walk a bit further you'll be able to enjoy the blue Turquoise water Overall this place is a slice of paradise. Bring all your loved ones before the peak seasons of September-December since it can be quite costly. I cannot wait to go back and this time enjoy the spa or outdoor activities

3.33

I was among those people who were over the moon when burger King landed in Kenya. I had tasted their burgers when I went to the US to visit my aunt. I went to the Hub, Karen branch which is 15min away by car from our place. By mat you'll go to Kencom and get the buses that go to Ngong 4W....the fair should be 60/=. You will then alight at Shell Ngong Road. You can either walk for 5min or take boda. We went on a weekday (Thursday) since there aren't that many people and it was before 12noon. I ordered the whooper combo meal (750/=) comes with fries & soda. Lé hubz wanted the Double cheeseburger combo meal which has fries, soda+ 2-signature flame grilled beef parties topped with melted cheese, pickles, mustard, ketchup, toasted sesame seed bun (700/=) After 10min our order was ready and to be honest I was disappointed 😞 The portions are a total rip off. What you see is not what you get,so when you go please lower your expectations. Then the taste was just there,I didn't even feel like I was eating a burger 😕 None of us were satisfied with our meal that we had to go elsewhere to eat. The only thing I loved was the ambience, kid play area, clean space and pleasant staff. Will I be going back.? Yes, but only on days they have the offer for buy1get1 free..which is Wednesdays. And I should warn you not to try their Lavington drive-through on days they have offers bcz you'll wait forever...they not fast. If you want to enjoy this offer please go from 11am

Moisture Unmatched

They have the best quality and organic products I've ever seen. What drew me to try the line was when I saw my friends hair flourishing thanks to their products. And I love that it is a made in Kenya product so I definitely had to buy #buy Kenya build Kenya. The products I have tried and definitely recommend are: 1. super detangler- perfect for kids because their hair can really knot up. It does the job so perfectly as it is enriched with flaxseed gel and castor oil leaving their hair soft and moisturized all day. Styling is such a breeze and did I not mention it smells like bubblegum...you might be tempted to eat 😃. It goes for 1500/= 2. Co-wash -it is a moisture-rich creamy conditioner, enriched with aloe vera juice+sunflower oil and leaves hair clean, detangled and super soft. I love to use it whenever I've undone my hair (esp after braiding)so that I don't get a lot of shedding..and I can attest this stuff works!!! It goes for 1500/= 3. Jojoba oil-a natural oil that acts in the same way as sebum. It keeps my hair healthy and strong. I recommend you add it into your routine if you are trying to grow inches faster 😉 It goes for 1500/= 4. Coconut oil with caramel extract- smells divine and works wonders on hair. It has an excellent natural sheen and combats dry hair. This is the only oil I use on my baby girl's hair. Wherever we go,she always gets compliments on her hair bcz it is so shiny, soft, healthy and long yet she's only 15months. It goes for 1000/= 5. Shea butter with pure vanilla extract- perfect for treating all types of dry skin and scalp conditions. When I was pregnant I used it religiously and I can attest it evens out the skin tone and only got 2 stretchmarks since it reduces blemishes and scars. I use it on my son's eczema-prone skin as it is an excellent emollient which seals in moisture to combat flaky, itchy and dry skin. It goes for 1000/= All these products can be found in Jumia, Super cosmetics,Goodlife pharmacy,Healthy U and MyDawa. Download the Mydawa App so you can get an even further discount on these products

Best high-end beauty and skin care retailer

If you've ever been to a mall or place that has a Lintons store, you'd know that there's no way you can just kosa to enter. Their stores are soo inviting from the bold headline, very clean space, bright lighting and the very well stocked shelves. What I love most is their staff are very friendly, professional and helpful esp if it's something you want to try out be it beauty or skincare. My favorites are the CBD branch at 680 and junction mall. They have a really wide range of products and best part is they are all ORIGINAL. If you are a beginner in skincare I highly recommend you try one of their stores..so they can advise you on what is best for your skin type...& FYI consultation is free. Some time back I bought a product(not knowing it was counterfeit)in a popular store in Nairobi and it really broke me out so bad. If it wasn't for Susan at Lintons Yaya I would have been scarred for life because it's all thanks to the regimen she gave me. I love to do pedicures (1800/=) at their Junction branch and the lady who does it is called Lucy. I met her back in 2018 and I've never cheated on her 😅 bcz she really knows what she's doing...I highly recommend go try her. When it comes to fragrances I normally save up so I can buy whenever they have these sales. Stop buying the cheap scents you find all over town....that make you smell like everyone in Nairobi and they don't actually last on you compared to original scents that last you a long time bcz a little goes a long way. They recently brought a pocket friendly perfume line called Adopt' from France. A 30ml goes for 1700/= and let me tell you, these tiny things are so powerful..they can easily be mistaken to a designer scent. I'll let you in on a secret 🤫 go get the Adopt' scent in Lady glitter....thank me later 😃. The pros is you get samples whenever you buy the high end perfumes or skincare (check out my pics). The con is their products are very expensive with a price range (5k- 30k) but if you follow them on Instagram you'll get a heads up whenever they have sales. I know every year they have one major sale in July or August where their products are discounted upto 50%🤯. I am hoping that one of these days they have a sale on the Lancôme skincare line bcz I have been eyeing the Advanced Génifique serum(13k). I got a sample and let's just say the product works like magic

Food is too oily

My husband and I were gifted a voucher by a friend for our anniversary. From town I spent 50/= and I boarded the buses that use the hurlingham route. The voucher we had was worth 3k so we ordered some: Vegetable fried noodles (400/=) Beef fried noodles (450/=) Beef with onion (780/=) Sizzling prawns (1080/=) Still water 500ml (150/=) and Coke (100/=). To be honest I was disappointed on the wait time bcz it took so long and then when the food arrived it was soo oily especially the Sizzling prawns (considering the waiter recommended). My expectation on the Sizzling prawns was that they would be stir fried and served on a hot plate...not drenched in oil mpaka ata the veggies were not crunchy 😐The taste was underwhelming, not well seasoned and the prawns serving was kidogo (considering it's a prawns meal)I could only count 5 cocktail prawns...hubby became nauseous after eating that meal. If it wasn't for the ginger on the beef and onion fry,I would also have been overwhelmed with the oiliness. I would advise you don't order them and stick to the noodles. The only thing I loved about the restaurant is the portions are pretty generous ...they might look kidogo but utashiba kabisaa. We didn't even finish our meal we had to carry. The other thing that annoyed me is some staff are pretty rude and unprofessional. My final 2 cents is there are better Chinese restaurants to try out there

Life should taste as good as pork 🙂

This is my favorite local considering it's just 10min away on foot. By mat you need to go either behind Archives or opposite union towers (Moi Avenue)..there's a road where you'll see many Super Metros parked. You panda the Kikuyu mats which should cost 50/= (off-peak hrs). It's a 40min drive to Muthiga (depending on traffic). My favorite is their pork choma ½kg which goes for 350/=....very juicy, tender and chomwad to the spot 😅and its the generous portions & extra onions for me bcz they make the choma even yummier 😋. As for the sides, I just make my own at home since I always do take-away and I love to save me some coins😃 I also go with my own dish since they charge 20/= for theirs. Another favorite is the family platter (pork, kuku, chips, sautéed potatoes, ugali, kachumbari and soda) all for 1590/= and I normally get it on Sundays after church. My favorite employee is Jane.... she is always so kind, polite and very welcoming....you'll feel right at home. Plus I love how fast their service is....you'll only wait for 10min for your order to be ready. The best part about this restaurant is they close at 9.30pm and they do home deliveries.....so if you come home from work and don't feel like cooking...they will sort you. I recommend you come try them out or order from the comfort of your home....you will never have pork elsewhere 😉

Magical Kenya 😍

What a hidden gem 💎 We went sometime last year in December..just a spontaneous road trip with the family. It's a 2½ Hr drive from Nairobi. The road from Nairobi to Naivasha is good..it only got a bit rough when we were on our way to the spa...a few potholes here and there. When we got to the park (the spa is inside Hell's Gate National Park)we had to pay KWS park fees which is ksh.300 for adults and ksh.215 for children over 3 years. We then drove for 2 min so we could park inside the spa. Spa fees are ksh.400 for adults and ksh.100 children. I would advise you get to the spa early so you can enjoy the warm water and scenery since they close at 5pm. That water is soo therapeutic and relaxing..I could feel like a load had been lifted..I am glad i got to experience these magical waters with my family. My baby had some eczema and to be honest by the time we got home it was no longer there. The thing I didn't like was how rude some of the staff were and how expensive the food is yet it doesn't even taste good. I would advise you eat before you arrive bcz they also don't allow food or drinks into the spa. It is a very kid friendly area so don't shy away from bringing your loved ones... they have a play area and a separate kids pool. Please watch out for water inlets that let in hot water to regulate the temperature of the water as they are not marked. I remember someone getting burned bcz they went close to an inlet. We told the manager to mark those areas bcz its dangerous esp at the baby pool...I had to keep in warning kids to stay away.....hoping by the time we go back they would have done so. And don't let the smell of Sulphur put you off bcz this place is amazing..I highly recommend you try it out

Best dreadlocks salon

I was heavily influenced to try this salon thanks to Sharon Mwangi and Caroline Kibati. They had done some beautiful locs and I made sure to save up so I can get this beautiful protective styling. I went to the Jameson court branch on Ngong road bcz its more convenient unlike CBD. I booked a 9.30am appointment for 14" temporary locs installation which cost 8900/=. I made sure to go with clean treated hair bcz their prices were abit high compared to my local salon. A wash and blow dry is 1k and if you want to treat it will cost 1500/= (with your own treatment). The salon is very busy....can you imagine by that time there were another 4 customers. I love the music, the staff are very friendly and chatty...and they offer refreshments & snacks too. It took me 2½ hrs to get my locs installed and I fell in love instantly. Very painless and light in my opinion. They served me a good 9months with a retouch every 6weeks. A retouch is simply washing, treating and re-twisting the hair where the growth is..and it costs 1800/=. When I went back in Feb this year to have the locs removed it cost 2000/= plus 1500/= with my treatment 🥲 since I was supposed to go for a dinner after and I didn't have time to go to my local salon. I highly recommend you try this protective styling bcz the hair actually grows, can be styled differently, light, gets better with time as it mimics natural locs and it doesn't matter the type of hair you have be it natural or relaxed (4months post-relax) it's perfect for all. My friends are even surprised with the length it is at right now and they plan on going. I will definitely be going back 7months from now as the hair takes a breathe.

Grill masters!!

Frangos is a rustic bar and grill in the heart of kilimani boasting a cosy outdoor environment furnished with elements that fuse Kenya and Portugal. They have perfected the balance between heat and flavor in their signature sauce; the Frangos piri piri...and don't get me started on their art of flame grilling. The reason I fell in love with the joint is when I ate the half frango (half chicken, flame grilled to perfection and served with 2 regular sides of choice)all for 1500/= Let me tell you, that chicken will have you selling your house members just to have another bite...yaani it's that good and I highly recommend. The marinade on it was super, the coleslaw properly seasoned and crunchy (I almost cried as to how heavenly it was😅) and the spiced chips cooked to perfection. I also loved the chilli cheese steak fries(tender strips of lightly spiced beef fillet on a bed of crispy hand cut fries topped with creamy cheese sauce)...huge portion for a price of 1200/= In addition their cocktails are worth your time and coins, well crafted and beautifully presented. My favorites with a rate of 10/10: *Frangos spiced mango mojito (spiced rum and Mango juice, finished with hints of red bullet chillies and basil) 800/= and *Port Negroni (Ballantines whiskey, campari& Port wine infused with hints of citrus) 850/=. I had tried the Watermelon bonanza (pink gin,Port wine, ginger and lime) but I found it to be too strong to my liking 7/10. I plan to go back and have a taste of their signature burger and bucket of wings in Asian zing & Sticky bbq.

Why the change

Java! Java! Java! I've had both good and bad experiences to be honest. I don't understand why over the years, their service has become terrible, food doesn't taste as it used to and not mentioning the things I've found in my food 😩. I visited this branch sometime last year as we were going to Kericho. So I ordered some fish fingers and fries (500/=) for my son and let me just say aki niligongwa...because what you see is not what you get. To make matters worse we waited for a whole 1hr just to be disappointed..I'll post the pic. The only good experience I've had with these guys is only on their cake, coffee, ice cream, macadamia cookies, granola and Dawa. Whenever they have these offers for buy 1 get 1 free I'd advise you to stay away kabisaaaa. They post such a nice pic lakini kenye utapata will totally disappoint you. I've taken advantage of their offers so many times..i decided to stick to when they have offers on cake or coffee. Like juzi I order for the ¼ chicken, chips and soda for 500/= only to get tissue in my food and the fries zimekauka and they were not even yummy. Then some of their staff are not polite at all..very rude and unprofessional. Their prices are honestly the best but the food aki stay away.. I've had my share. I just wish they would go back to how they used to run things when they started.

Best online pharmacy

If you haven't downloaded the MyDawa App then you are definitely missing out. Uzamart has covered the description to a T. It's literally the best online pharmacy. I've been a member since 2019. I was skeptical at first bcz their offers were too good to be true. I was drawn bcz they had an offer on diapers from 1400/= to 800/= for a pack of 2 diapers. And it gets even better they offer free delivery within Nairobi and for those outside imagine you'll pay 100/= tops to get it straight to your door step within 4hrs. They reward customers once in a while btw...like me last year they gave me a 10k voucher 🤯 If you feel like you are too sick to go to the hospital, they have a doctor you can talk to #Dial-a-daktari at a fee of 500/=. This is pocket friendly compared to paying a consultation of 1500/=. They have the best prices compared to other pharmacies..just download the app confirm for yourself 😃 And I love how it has different payment methods from mpesa, bonga points, airtel money, and Visa. Download the app so you can get notifications on flash sales and discount coupons

Perfect for families and old folks

Honestly I wouldn't have known of this hotel if it wasn't for the voucher I won while shopping on Valentine's Day. It's a 4-star hotel located along thika road on pipeline estate road. On a good day it will take you 15min from CBD by car and 40min by mat. When you get to the stage..its a distance of 1km to the hotel so you can either pay 50/= get a motorbike that will drop you or walk for 15min. The main amenities are 35 guest rooms, restaurant and bar/lounge,outdoor pool,24hr fitness center,24hr front desk, air conditioning, parking and conference center. It is perfect for families too because there's a playground, children's pool and private bathroom. On entry we were surprised as to how full the parking lot was it took us 2min to park. And as we enter the reception area there were so many old folks mpaka I was wondering if we were in the right place 😅We were welcomed by a kind receptionist who showed us to our seats as we wait for them to validate the voucher. Martin is the manager there and he is the one who handed us our ticket to enjoy our dinner. We both ordered the Texas Chimichuri lamb chops (marinated in oregano and garlic then grilled served with slow roasted vegetables and potato wedges) which cost 1500/=.We ordered our drinks and in 30min our meal was ready. Presentation was okay but the taste test was kind of underwhelming bcz the meat was tough and potatoes were not seasoned. And unfortunately in my vegetables I found a worm..it was so identical to the vegetables I would have eaten it😩 overall..the ambience of this hotel is really serene, cool atmosphere and chill vibes. It's perfect if you want to escape the busy noise of the city

Pocket friendly prices

Never been to this branch but I frequent the Mountain view,Westlands and CBD branch bcz they are just on the way and close proximity to where I stay. All the branches offer Classic,Supreme and Deluxe pizza which come in four different sizes namely; Regular, Medium ,large and Mega. The prices vary depending on the type of pizza you want and size with a price range of ksh. 500- ksh 1350. The wait time is 15min and 30min on days they have the offer of buy1get1free(Tuesday). Since am a mum and my kids always love mummy's food😃,my preference is mostly on classic pizza because they are not spicy. Our favorite is Regina (sandwich beef and mushrooms) or Hawaiian (Macon and Pineapple) and we get it in the mega Sze 1200/=. On days am with my husband we go for Nyama feast because it's loaded with borewores mince, pepperoni, onions, mozzarella cheese, barbecue steak,Macon, ham, green pepper, sweet corn, tomatoes all for 1350/= (mega size). On days we don't feel like leaving the house,we call 0700323323 and they deliver. And I forgot to mention they added new meals to their menu; beef or veg lasagna (500/=) Mac&cheese (350/=) Spaghetti bolognaise (350/=) please try them out

Best creamiest ice cream

You should definitely try one of the creamy in branches. They are located in the most convenient/strategic places in the country. My favorites being the Westlands,Mountain view and CBD branch. Their prices are very pocket friendly. You can get an ice cream cone🍦 from as low as 50/= for plain vanilla,Strawberry or chocolate. You can then add the toppings of your choice from Sprinkles, syrups, crushed oreos or candied cherries. They also offer milkshakes,Sundaes, hot beverages, fresh juice, smoothies and snacks. You can get a snack from as low as 30/= imagine 😲 I recommend you try their Strawberry marshmallow sundae, oreo spinnas, cookies and cream crazy shake

Is it just me ama sometimes Jumia have like "fake" sales. Like to be honest...whenever they have this big brand day sales.. if you are a regular shopper in the supermarket like me, you would be able to tell the difference. For instance they can say Ariel goes for 500/= but then on that sale day it's 299/=.....yet all day everyday hio ndio bei ya Ariel. Not forgetting on top of that you'll be charged delivery fee. It's not that I dislike Jumia but it's something I've noticed. So I can caution you to always counter check whenever kuna hizi "sales". My experience with them has been good..no complaints on delivery or receiving bad products. I recommend for the pick up option instead of delivery option if you have the time to go to Jumia..it is cheaper. I personally wait for days they have free delivery 😃Some sales are totally legit and others are meh 😐 And please follow some of these influencers on Instagram like Zarilyn Monroe,Kim Kardicey,Murugi Munyi,Wajesus etc....so you can get codes from them and get to save up some coins. Follow Jumia on IG too..like right now they have bundle offers on nivea products..if you buy a certain product you get either a tote, wash bag or fanny pack. One thing I don't like about Jumia is communication....especially if it's something you need more clarity on. They don't have ati a real customer care representative when you call 0711011011..they refer you to their site to go read. Which is annoying in my opinion because the reason i called is to talk to someone so they can elaborate abc. Please don't hesitate to try it out though

Your one stop salon to everything hair

I heard about this salon through a friend after I saw how dope her hair was looking 👌. So I decided to follow Spritz on Instagram and I was hooked as to how unique and amazing their hairstyles are. It's located on Greenhouse mall, ground floor on Ngong Road. From town to Adam's acarde is 50/= Its best to use the buses at Kencom (bus4W). So in order for you to get your hair done, you have to book an appointment and pay a deposit for whatever style you choose. The deposit is to ensure you actually make it to your appointment rather than you saying you will go and not show up. I decided i wanted to do the Wavy locs in Cherry wine which cost 850/= per pack...I used 3 and 3000/= for installation (total 5500/=). First time I stepped into Spritz I was so in love with the black and white minimalist aesthetics.. the touch of gold on the shelves and mirrors..so so beautiful. My appointment was at 8am and 2hrs later I was done. In between my braiding they offered me water, juice, tea and snacks. I forgot the name of the lady who did my hair but let me tell you she was so gentle that I didn't feel that ka-headache we get after braiding and she was fast. The salon cleaning is always maintained throughout..when hair drops on the floor they clean A.S.A.P. I recommend you get you some Wavy locs bcz they are lightweight and they get better as they age bcz it gives natural hair vibes. I received so many compliments and I kept referring people to go to Spritz. You will not regret, I promise

A paradise indeed!! 😍🏖

Every year in October my husband and his fellow Subaru forester Nation peeps head to the Coast for a charity drive. In 2020,it was in Watamu..so we decided to book at Pride Inn Paradise because they had such a great offer of 6750/= pp on full board and children 0-6yrs stay for free. If it were you could you let this offer slide 😏 plus it was convenient for me to also visit my parents in Mombasa as they meet grandkids. I love that they had adhered strictly to the Covid protocols from temperature check, sanitizing and everyone was wearing a mask. We checked in at 3pm and I have to say Juliet at the reception was very kind and professional..within minutes we were on our way to the room. We had booked the deluxe pool view room which was enough to fit us all...a double and a single bed. I loved everything about this hotel..the amenities were great and the kids really had a blast. The food variety was great ...they satisfied all my pregnancy cravings I had at the time. Everything in this hotel is fantastic 👌 I highly recommend you check out their page on Instagram or Facebook to see the offers they have because you will save some coins. We already have booked for this Easter holiday. A huge shout out to Eve,Walter and Brenda for making our stay memorable ❤ can't wait to back!!

Best cocktails in Nairobi

So after a long day of shopping at Sarit, hubby and I were exhausted and hungry so we went straight to the food court. We didn't love the selection because it was mostly Indian or Asian cuisine yet hubby really doesn’t like over spiced food. So we went in to News Cafè. It has a very inviting ambience, love the decor and how chill the space is. The kind staff showed us a place to sit and we were given the menu. To be honest at first I wanted to run because the prices were outrageous for me bcz nimezoea prices za chicken inn or local restaurants….but hubby convinced me into staying since we had never dined in such a restaurant. He ordered the big beef burger which had cheddar cheese, caramelized onions, bacon, mushroom sauce, avocado, lettuce and tomatoes (1490/=) and I had the grilled lamb chops served with potatoes and a side of feta salad (1800/=).So as we were waiting we decided to get their signature cocktails. I had the Pangalactic (850/=)and he had 7 deadly sins(990/=)…...which I highly recommend 👌 they are worth the coins. If it wasn't for the cocktails I am sure I would have left the restaurant bcz the food took a whole hour. And then the food fikaz which was not well seasoned, portions were small a bit cold and the salad was stale...very disappointing 😑. Good thing is they have happy hour so you get to enjoy their cocktails at 600/= overall food 3/10 cocktails 10/10 ambience 7/10

Best burgers ever!!

If you ever find yourself in Nairobi and are looking for the best burger joint in town please don't hesitate to go to Urban burger. My favorite branch is Westgate Mall. I love the aesthetics of this place from the brick wall and the black&yellow color theme that just seems to match this space. They have an offer every end Month #burgerfest and Monday #crazymonday where you get 2 burgers for the price of 1 (ksh. 990)though I wouldn't advise on buying burgers on this day....yes I know 🥲such a good offer to resist. Reason being they have so many back to back orders that the quality of burgers is not the same compared to the other days of the week and the wait time can be so exhausting. I normally like going on Thursdays from 3pm so that when 4pm strikes..I can also enjoy their happy hour till 7pm😃 (literally hit two birds one stone). My favorite is the Texas burger minus the egg...it's such a yum juicy filling of bacon, beef patty and cheese. I have also tried the sloppy Joe but I found it to be too messy and the buns kind of become mushy....but please dont shy away from trying because the flavor is 10/10. Overall the service is 9/10,great ambience, fair prices for such great flavors and the staff are very friendly. And FYI I know they say that during the deal days that its dine-in only but you really don't have to finish the burgers on site...you can always carry the extra home..and I highly recommend you try the salted caramel milkshake..such a huge portion for only 420/=

A tropical paradise 😍

There's not enough words to describe how beautiful this place is....it is literally out of this world ❤ it's a little slice of heaven on earth..so so magical...me and my family visited last year for my husband's birthday. We had booked the flight 3months before bcz they can be costly..so one way was 14k (2adults 3 children). The flight is 2hrs long bcz they have to stop over Lamu then proceed to Malindi. From Malindi it's a 30min drive to Watamu. We took a taxi that cost us 1800/= On arrival we were welcomed with refreshments and I love how fast check in was literally in 5min we were done and taken to our rooms. We had booked the penthouse suite on half board..which was very breathtaking with spectacular views and best part is that it comes with a plunge pool. Dinner was amazing..it was fresh, hot well seasoned food bcz they don't do buffet it's a'la carte menu( you order they make for you). Price range is ksh.800-3000 which was fair. All I would eat through out my stay was their grilled seafood platter served with roast potatoes and tartar sauce 😋juu i was fed up with all the meat I was eating in Nairobi 😁 plus it was sooooo good 🤤 I only ate lamb chops once.. the kids had many options on what to eat and they tried everything from their menu. Breakfast is the only time they offer buffet and let's just say they have such a wide range of options you'd be confused on what to pick. I love that there's so many activities one can do while in Medina..we went snokerling, dolphin watching, paddle boarding and the sunset dhow cruise. Activity fee ranges from 1k-4k. When we wanted our alone time with hubby, we would leave the kids at Nemos cave.(kids center). They had nanny’s and we paid 500/= for the 6hrs. This gave us time to get a massage at Sakina spa and visit the famous Lichthaus so we could at least take photos and enjoy sun downers. I would recommend you go early or call in advance so you can book a spot bcz the place gets very busy and take a tuk tuk (200/=)bcz the hotel taxi is very pricey. Did I mention they bake a cake on request..i had ordered a vanilla chocolate cake with caramel filling covered in coffee chocolate ganache and they delivered to a T. They even gave us a bottle to celebrate on the house🥳Overall the staff is very friendly, food is 10/10 Cleanliness 10/10. The only downside is you really have to save up to enjoy this luxurious 5-star hotel 😅 bcz it don't come cheap 🙈 but I would do it all over again just to enjoy this prestigious beauty..the hotel is as exactly as you see it in the photos. I 1000% recommend 👌 dont forget to take countless photos and videos 😃carry enough mosquitoe repellent and sunscreen ❤
