About Me

First I was born. Then I discovered how much happiness a splash and slip through the water can give so by the time I was 8, I had already fallen in love with swimming. At sixteen, I ascertained that exploring and caring for the human body was pretty interesting and I thought to myself why not become a Doctor. I casually sauntered through the following years and at 21, came across "The Office": a show so hilarious I'd ache from laughter. Wine also became a little too sweet and vacations severely alluring. I'm currently 23 and all I can think about is taking a stroll through the gorgeous streets in Rome as I soak up the atmosphere and admire the elegance.

ANOTHER BANGER??

When I heard Fireboy was coming to Kenya I couldn’t help making a few quick calls because I knew this was going to be an event for the books. M-tickets, an online ticketing platform that we used had a flash sale that I was lucky enough to partake in. We bought the tickets at 2000 /= during the flash sale, down 500/= from the usual price. The event was set to be held at Ngong Racecourse. This being the first event ever by FOMO that I attended, I was a little excited to see how they would hold down the fort in such a risky venue. I carpooled with a few friends to the venue and by 9pm we were on site .Traffic wasn’t as crazy and we didn’t have to wait hours in line. Once we arrived, the first thing that caught my eye was how tight the security was at the entrance. Several armed guards were walking around and keeping everyone in check. The entry was smooth with us just getting our tickets scanned at the gate. Once in, all that awaited was a night of banger after banger. The music system was loud and in place with the stage well set up. Many acts performed throughout the night before the main act. Bensoul, Nviiri and other Kenyan DJs graced the stage as we all warmed our hearts for Fireboy. Granted ,the wait was not in vain .Fireboy was straight up fireee!!!! “You sweet pass mango ,You sweet pass agbalumo ….” And other of his top lyrics kept echoing the whole night .I was not drinking that evening but from the drinks a few of my friends bought a beer was as cheap as 250 shillings. Verdict:a successful event .Ample parking, security, vendors ,entertainers and service providers at all points.

A GOOD CHOICE FOR A LIT NIGHT OUT.

Casa Vera is a nightclub that is located along Ngong Road in Nairobi. It has just opened recently and I spontaneously stopped by for a night out with friends. It has an open-air vibe to it, with the whole place not really being enclosed . Immediately we went in we could just hear the loud music and the absolute hype that enveloped this whole club. The crowd was a mixture of both young and older people. It was quite packed and we had to wait a while before we could get a table. The bottles of alcohol are fairly priced, with their cocktails being around 700 to 800 Kshs.I ordered several cocktails but most of them had very little liquor and were slightly watered down.I found the club too open for my liking. During the course of the night, several people bumped into me while moving around and the whole experience was mildly chaotic. When visiting Casa Vera I would advise that you go on a day when you plan on getting turnt and a little shit-faced with your friends. For a casual night out maybe this may not be the ideal location. The music was pretty entertaining and the DJ had us off our seats the whole night dancing to the beats. Overall, my experience at Casa Vera did not really leave much to write home about.

HERO MADE ME FALL IN LOVE WITH SUSHI.

Hero restaurant is located in Trademark, Village market. As a self-certified foodie, I easily fall in love with restaurants that stimulate my palate and keep me wanting more. I visited this restaurant for a work lunch with a couple of friends. When we heard we could choose which restaurant to visit, the decision of visiting Hero was unanimous. We got here at around noon and the most remarkable thing about this date was the sushi. It was so well done I could cry. On entry, what caught my eye immediately was the beautiful bright colors and the comic theme that was dominating the restaurant, from the menus to the general decor. The first thing we had was some drinks. We then ordered starters, the main course, and some dessert.I had the Loki's cup which was around 900kshs:it contained Tanqueray gin, bourbon, and some homemade orange bitters. Let's just say the cocktail did the thing and gave what it was supposed to give. For starters, we had the white miso soup(900kshs) ,crab and lobster maki (1100kshs), and lastly some breaded calamari(900ksh) which was my absolute favorite. It had a crunchy course exterior with a soft well done interior. The highlight of my visit was the Tugulu Sushi Rolls (1700). This was my first time actually enjoying sushi and I have no clue how I navigated life without all the goodness sushi has to offer. For dessert,I had the mango sorbet chilli granita which melted in my mouth and released flavor comparable to eating an actual mango with chili. When visiting I would recommend giving their sushi a chance because I promise you will not regret it.

I ABSOLUTELY ENJOYED THE CRISPY MOZZARELLA

I like to describe myself as an avid lover of pasta and pizza. See how they give kids candy and all their problems are solved miraculously? Give me either of the aforementioned foods and I will curl up in satisfaction. Bambino is a newly opened restaurant that is located in the 9WEST building right in the heart of Westlands, Nairobi. It is dedicated to creating a fusion of Latin-Italian meals offering such a perfect blend of flavour. When I heard there's a newly opened Italian restaurant, my mind immediately went to pasta and pizza and with that, I was convinced I had to try it. I had the pleasure of visiting with a few of my colleagues and I can say my experience was nothing short of impressive. Straight from the flamboyant decor, professional staff, and flavour-rich food, there are only good things to say about Bambino. I had a long island at the beginning of the night ,it was good but I thought it could have been a little stronger. We then sampled all the starters from the menu. The price range was from for the starters 900-2000kshs. The Long Island was around 900kshs. If I could go back there I would have the crispy mozzarella over and over again. It had a crisp coarse exterior with a gooey buttery interior. The contrasting textures in this appetizer created such spiritual satiety. My colleagues seemed to enjoy the beetroot carpaccio, poached prawns, and eggplant ceviche. They were a little too meat-deprived for my taste. For the main course, we ordered pizza. We sampled a variety but my favorite was definitely the Lomo Saltado Pizza. It had a thin crust with an assortment of mushrooms, mozzarella, onion, cherry tomato, parmesan, beef tenderloin, and cherry tomato for toppings. It was around 1400kshs. Lastly, we had dessert. A combination of baked cheesecake, Pineapple Carpaccio, Hibiscus, and Strawberry. The price range combined was 900-1100 kshs. The Hibiscus and strawberry was such a nice way to end the night : mildly sweet with a tinge of savoriness. Overall verdict for bambino: YES!YES!YES! I would love to go back here and sample more things on their menu. It was slightly noisy at night when I visited because of how packed it was so when planning a visit I would recommend considering off-peak hours. Also, remember to make a reservation prior.

Fresh, healthy and lush groceries that are filled with so much life.

This supermarket offers a relaxed shopping atmosphere for your household needs. If I call this a one stop shop, I'll absolutely be right. I don't necessarily have to specify which of your needs will be met here because when it comes to shopping ,Chandarana foodplus got you covered .This store has an extensive coverage in regards to their products and also their locations. Definitely one of the best supermarkets in Kenya .On all my visits,I find it fully stocked with various brands. They have fresh products which may be locally produced or imported depending of your preference. They always have my second favourite motivational quote up on display 90% of the time. Everywhere I turn ,it's just cards screaming Discounts!Discounts and more discounts! In all honesty once I see the words discount, my mind wanders .I may want to avoid splurging but of course I can't help it.The mind may be strong but the body is regularly weak.Few minutes later my basket is full of things I never even planned for.If you love wine and alcohol, this place has some of the best liquor stores I've seen.I easily found my favourites and the range of alternative selections I could choose from was really wide. You don't need to look that far :Chandarana definitely has it..The foodstuffs , fruits and groceries are particularly fresh. The place is very clean .The staff are friendly and approachable. The outlet is pretty easy to navigate and the products are arranged orderly in separate aisles and shelves. Unlike other supermarkets,I feel like Chandarana doesn't really get crowded. You get ample space to shop and the wait time at the counter is very short.

If you’re trying to venture into a healthier way of living,Healthy U got U.

This store that has several branches all around the country. It's mainly committed to allowing people to explore and indulge in a healthy lifestyle. It provides healthier alternatives to foods and products in general. The branches that I mostly frequent are the one's located in Yaya centre, Sarit center and Kisumu West End Mall. The one in Kisumu West End Mall is closer to home so it's the one that has seen alot of me. Most of the time I buy supplements, pills and their doctor organic products especially the aloe vera gel. Their price range for most things is generally on the higher side but they have a high reputation in regards to their quality so I don't usually mind. They actually also have cheaper alternatives in store for some of the products. The range of their inventory is so wide. I'm talking skin care, food( flour and cereals ), drugs, body building supplements and so much more. There is also a natural beauty section and basically anyone interested in healthy living is covered in this store. I bought the Quest Vitamin C. It's 1000mg of the Vitamin with added bioflavonoids. This supplement is really good and it's also efficient to be used by those who are gluten free, who don't use dairy products and vegans. It was 1865/= and it had a total of ninety tablets inside. If you use Doctor organic products ,this place sells very authentic ones. I frequently use their Aloe vera gel which is about 1700/=. It forms a very perfect addition to my natural skin care routine. This store is so supportive of my healthier life choices and anyone venturing into this would be satisfied too.

Quality and Durability.Yes it’s the same pair of jeans and yes I’ve had it for 3 years.

When I first went to Woolworths (can't even remember the age) ,I remember it being an exclusive clothing store mostly selling clothings and related accessories. This changed when I recently visited the Woolworths in Yaya centre and realized they have a whole little home section. It has most little things you'd need to make an addition to your home. I genuinely felt like this added so much variety to the shop and the amount of shopping you could do all under this roof doubled. Woolworths mainly prides itself in selling outfits for men, women, children and even young toddlers. It incorporates different qualities of fabric and the latest designs to offer you some of the most fashionable and trendy outfits. Personally for me, their jeans are IT! They are made with some really durable material and that's one quality I'm very particular of when buying jeans. I'm always looking for something that's fitting,long-term and fashionable. Relative to several other clothing stores I know in Nairobi, their jeans are quite expensive. The cheapest pair in Woolworths is usually about double the price from normal boutiques. To me, when looking for durability this is my go to place but for affordability this is definitely not the store. The other thing I buy here is their lingerie .I feel like their designs offer so much comfort. Their cotton undergarments feel really good on your skin and the fittings are usually very nice. Again, in regards to their lingerie ,durability comes before affordability. I haven't really explored their home function because I just discovered it recently but what I can say is there is variety. If you looking to buy home supplies ,this is definitely one of your options.

Touch and go Shawarma at an incredibly affordable price.

The first time I tried the big knife shawarma was a few years back .There was a concert that was held at Ngong Racecourse and Big Knife were vendors. I had spent most of the night enjoying the music and by the time I was hungry enough to eat all the wraps were completely over the only thing that was left was the chicken .It was actually still being sliced and served. Practically speaking on that day I just ate chicken. The second time and my official shawarma try was in their branch in Hurlingam . It was a such a hectic day and I was feeling quite hungry and tired . When I saw their restaurant I was like why not. I'd always wanted to officially try eating from their menu because there was so much talk about their food. What I absolutely loved about this fast food restaurant before I even ate anything is the affordability. Their prices are so fair and you literally don't have to think twice about splurging here. Their regular chicken shawarma was 250/= and personally I felt like it was quite filling I didn't need to have more. It was basically just chicken and some vegetables lathered in a little creamy sauce and then covered up in the wrap. In regards to taste and flavor , I felt a little bit disappointed .There was little to no effort that was put. The chicken on its own wasn't as juicy and spicy as it could have been. I had actually told them I wanted my shawarma spicy but the only spice they added was ordinary over the counter chilli sauce. (this was a little bit funny on that day )This meal to me was overally very bland but I didn't really regret it because first of all it was cheap and second it was very filling. If you are looking for somewhere to have a quick meal that is very budget friendly with light specifications in regards to flavor then voila :Big Knife it is. They also have student friendly packages that come with a soft drink at such an affordable price. The most common combo is the student special where you get shawarma ,soda and fries at 350/=. Talk about affordability.

My pocket cries but my soul smiles. The pasta heals all the slight losses endured by your pocket.

Every time you take a drive to Westlands using this Chiromo Road especially at night it's like this restaurant is always calling you. You're literally just minding your business but a building is glittering so much it's blinding and you can even hear it screaming your name .I have accepted the calling severally and I have never been disappointed. The only thing that feels anxious about my visits here is my pocket because I usually have to dig a little too deep .The prices at this hotel are relatively high.Kempinski is a modern upscale hotel located in Nairobi. It basically offers accommodation, dining services and conferencing services. It also has so many other amenities in house that serve to make your visit worthwhile. I have visited this place for dinner twice.Every other time I promise myself I'm having a Staycation here but the pockets never allow it.Right at the entrance you're welcomed by a beautiful and elegant building .The architecture is quite well done and the decor is mostly stunning. Even the air is a little different. I've visited only 2 restaurant here :Lucca and 88. I visited 88 when I was attending one of eat out food festivals. For Lucca there was a wedding here and we ended up dining there to get a feel of the place. Before I even mention the food, I think their events services are the bomb. The fixtures and decorations were so well done and the venue had so much life. The price for booking the room plus the whole package is what I know to be high but if you don't mind blowing some coins on your big day then yes! When I dined at Kempinski my favorite evening out was at Lucca. It's an Italian restaurant unlike 88 which is Chinese. I mean I like Chinese food but Italian is a cuisine after my own heart. Of course I had their pasta and my culinary needs were highly met. Their pizza tonno e cipolla is also quite nice and you can appreciate the artistry from that wood oven pizza. For dining here I highly recommend even the service is pretty fast and the waiters very friendly.

Love lives here.Sorry I mean my love for their spa and pool is why I'd live here.

It's a nice cosy hotel located along valley road in Nairobi . It has two restaurants and an outdoor pool. The number of times I've gone here is too many I've even lost count. I've visited here ninety Percent of the time to attend conferences but that only accounts for ten percent of my thoughts. The remaining ninety Percent of my thoughts is occupied by that one time I slept here for two nights . I slept in their typical executive room and I paid 12000/= for one night. The room was so huge, so clean with a very huge bed that could comfortably fit two people. It also had an ensuite bath and a private balcony. Another favorite feature of mine was their room service and their coffee maker. Outdoors you could find a fitness center with a gym but I'm sorry I'm not going on a staycation to work out so there is only so much I can say about it.We had a perfect view of the pool and in the three days I was there,my luggage should have just been moved by the poolside because that's where I spent ninety percent of my time. There is restaurant by the pool if you don't want to exert yourself;talk about convenience. The menu was great and all the food was cooked quite well. For the conferences I attended, the rooms were spacious and they offered a bottle of water with some writing materials as part of their package. The staff were also very cooperative when it came to restructuring the whole sitting arrangements to suit our needs as their clients. The IT consultants were also on their toes and we encountered no problem when it came to the audios and the video display. The menu over the conference was however quite limited offering little to no variety but generally the food was alright. Lastly the staff who attended to us were constantly so helpful making the whole experience so homey.

I got full on a whole lot of ambiance and service. Such a stunning restuarant.

Do you know those restaurants that serve something that's really good and has been tailor made to perfection suiting everyone's needs but that something is not their food ? If you don't know now you know because that restaurant is CJ's . They purely serve ambiance with a side of food. You enter and it's just wow . The first time I went to CJ's was a couple of weeks after it opened because of the hype going on around it. The talk was CJ's at that time . Considering how much I love food and trying out new places I definitely had to try it out. I went to the CJ's that had just been opened in Nairobi's CBD along Koinage street . They didn't have many branches at that time but now they have several others. They have a branch in the village market , waterfront karen and lastly along lang'ata road. Like I said, the ambience was very impressive .Starting from the fixtures, the sitting arrangements and how spacious the whole space was even the colors just worked. It delivers such a relaxed and serene atmosphere. It's family friendly and not very noisy so you can even have an official meeting. I ordered their trio which was recommended to me by a friend and it was composed of a curry of your choice ,fish and chicken with a side of fries. It costs around 1300/=. My partner ordered their chicken alfredo pasta that was 1400/=.We both had the blue lagoon hand crafted lemonades that cost 500/= each.Lemme tell you if you're a heavy eater you'd fall in love with this place. Their portions are really really good. The flavor was fairly ok and the savoriness could be appreciated The staff were very warm , inviting and they paid quite a lot of attention to the clients.I've had better meals but when combined with the ambience I'd rate it at a 9/10.

Their products are what get me all dolled up on a regular basis.

I was casually taking a stroll in Yaya Centre on a weekday when I passed by the Maybelline Kiosk.I was really just minding my own business eating my froyo but noo they kept enticing me with the different make up options especially their new fit me foundation. My then existing knowledge about make up was actually close to none but once I purchased this foundation, I would take several minutes off in a day to watch YouTube videos and now you can call me Sensei (okay mini sensei). The fit me foundation is their new product that was released into the market to cater for those women who usually want a soft layer of make up and not a full face. Most make up brands when you have their foundation on everyone will know it.For Maybelline, this Fit me foundation blends so well with your skin it's quite difficult to tell it's layered. It gives an all natural look and glow .It also does a simple cover up of any blemishes you have. The best part about this is that if you want to switch up from an all natural make up look and get all dolled up you just add a few layers of foundation (usually the more dolled up you want to look the more layers you'll need.). This was my first time trying this brand and I didn't really know what shade to use. This problem of mine was easily resolved by their professional make up artists. They tried their most recommend shade on my face and allowed me to get a preview of what I would look like when wearing it.This was clearly a ruse because after that I was sold.I was like it's okay take all my money.I looked so gorgeous.I ended up buying the Fit me foundation, powder and primer. Everything cost me a total of 3500kshs.This is relatively cheaper compared to other foreign make up brands because that amount would probably only get you a foundation. They even gave me a cute little make up bag for customer appreciation. They also have this really wonderful super stay foundation for those who want full coverage with a longer duration. It's slightly expensive than the Fit me but it's because it has better qualities and definitely worth your money. I talked mostly about the foundation because that's all I bought but they have such a wide range of products:anything cosmetic and beauty related, they definitely got it.

I’ve already gladly sold my soul to the freak shakes in Urban eatery I’m not making any further transactions in future .

When Urban eatery finally gets to see this review I hope they know that I will willingly become their freakshakes spokesperson at absolutely no cost. All I need is a little more urban shakes on a daily basis preferably to lift my spirits and maybe get me in the mood you know? What I'm trying to say is that for me Urban eatery is home to my favourite freaks shakes. Generally I have a very sweet tooth and anything that's sweetened is definitely something after my own heart. My dentist tends to disagree with me alot on this but I will always tell him the heart wants what it wants. This restaurant is located in Westlands .It's very easy to find so there's no hustle and on a good day without traffic it's only about 15 minutes from Nairobi's CBD.It offers a chic and modern dining experience to it's customers .The food here is prepared by some of the best Chef's and they recently had a launch for their new Kitchen with Sarova which I'm absolutely excited about. I can't wait to try their new food. Anyone who knows me knows I can't pass by Westlands without stopping here at least once for a grab and go shake. I've actually tried their whole urban shakes menu and if you have a sweet tooth like me you have to try them out. My favourite has to be their chocolate shake. It's so much chocolate layered on more chocolate with a cute little chocolate brownie sitting calmly on top of it all .But that's not the end of it ,there's still chocolate sauce, chocolate sprinkles ,chocolate cookies and some whipped cream put together with everything and lemme tell you as soon as I see the waiter bringing it over I ask myself why I'm so lucky in this life. The best part is that it's very affordable and they all cost less than 800 shillings .Their Strawberry shake is also a drink after my own heart. It's a little bit calm with less going on compared to the chocolate one so if you're not into alot of sugar this should be your pick. Their food is also great and tasty but the freak shakes are it for me.

This place was recommended to me by a friend. I had gone on a vacation to Mombasa and had a slight inflammatory reaction from some plant there that persisted for along time. It even started manifesting as slight acne that was quite painful and that's when I decided to pay a visit to a dermatologist. I had been using one in Kisumu and since I was in Nairobi I had to switch hence my visit to this medical center. It's located along Ralph Bunche road. It's very easy to find. This place is literally your one stop centre for all your medical needs. There are so many professionals all under one roof who are dedicated to providing their clients with world class medical services. Whatever it is you need or whatever consultation you need to make I promise you will find someone specialized at this centre. I went to visit a dermatologist Know as Dr. Hosea Waweru who is a dermatologist. The clinic was on the fifth floor. All the examinations and investigations were done so thoroughly. The doctors were so patient and gentle. They continuously reassured me and tried to alleviate my anxiety. I was sent home on the drugs Roaccutane and told to report back after sometime. The drugs were very efficient and although I was a little scared when my skin started to exfoliate severely, I was reminded by the doctor it's part of the process. After some time my inflammation was completely gone and my acne completely resolved. I would definitely recommend this place and I haven't really tried most of their services but from my experience I'm sure everything will be done at per.

I've practically grown up all my life( ok half of it) in Kisumu. My zing for tourism and dining had not yet been awakened so I was not really interested in visiting the beautiful places in Nyanza. My visit to Takawiri happened when I was twenty years old and I went to celebrate a friend's birthday. At first when I was told there was an island in lake Victoria with a beautiful beach that had clear sand my level of skepticism sky rocketed. The lake Victoria I knew by then was all just covered in hyacinth and I couldn't believe there was a whole paradise right in Homabay. We drove all the way from Kisumu to Mbita, once we arrived at Mbita we took a boat that carried is all the way to the island. For a heavy skeptic I was pleasantly surprised .These beaches are magnificent. We were not planning to stay there for the night so before we alighted we paid 500/= per person that's the charges for visiting the place. If you are planning to get accommodation these charges are wavered. I couldn't get enough of the6 beach and all I did was soak my legs in the sand as I enjoyed the beautiful scenery. We took boats and went round even did a little fishing. When I saw them catch tilapia for a moment I was even a little bit stunned wondering whether we now tilapia in Mombasa. This place gave me such a coastal beach feeling I genuinely forgot I was in Lake Victoria. You can do so many activities here; swimming, fishing, walking, boat riding, dining and so on. They also have really really tasty meals at a very fair price. An absolute paradise and everyone should purpose to visit this place when in Nyanza.

All I did was eat Nyama from mama as I danced and shared laughter with my beloved.

The name Nyama mama sounds a little bit traditional and I don't know why the first time I heard it a restaurant in a tiny maasai hut serving some traditional food came into my mind. In actuality that's sort of not far from the truth except their is no hut. Instead a very very elegant restaurant with African themed decorations is what we have replacing it. The food still remains the same African cuisine inspired from travels all around Africa. There are several branches in Kenya and I've visited the one in Village Market and the one in Delta towers. The one in Village Market is very simple with very little sitting space but the large food court in the mall compensates for it so you can get your food and eat it there. The one in Delta towers on the other hand is something else right from the entrance what welcomes you is all the vibrant colors from the African themed seats and the paintings. Immediately I got in ,the inner photographer in me was awakened and if the seats could talk they'd tell how fed up they were of posing after my twentieth take. There was so much originality not only in the decor but also in the kitchen ware and food that was served. They served food in nice little cute African kitchen ware and the metallic cups especially reminded me of my grandmother. She's the only one I knew who used such cups. I think that's the whole Mama concept this place was going for.It was a little cold so I had a cup of coffee to warm myself up. The coffee was great. We ordered the next thing and of course we had to try the famous mama chapati wraps. I ordered the braised pulled pork wrap which was 800/=. It's essentially just pork with a lot of BBQ sauce that's neatly wrapped in a chapati and served with a side of masala chips. Lemme tell you it was my first time and how well those wraps were done still amazes me. My partner had ordered the seared chicken tikka chapati wrap which was also the same price. When I had a bite of the chicken wrap I was obsessed. I really appreciate how it was such a simple meal but the spice and the authenticity took the experience to a whole other level. There was this lovely band performing and I can't really remember the name since it was like a year ago but the stage was so lively I couldn't put my feet down.Overally a beautiful experience.

So much to do and experience all under one roof.

Are you and your friends idle and bored after spending endless days indoors doing nothing and need to go somewhere outdoors to continue doing absolutely nothing? Then this is the place for you.Contrary to my starting pitch this location is one of the busiest with so many activities. It's one of the largest malls in Kenya and it has a really unique and beautiful design. Compared to the other malls I find the layout very appealing and when put together with the large variety of shops there it becomes an excellent place to chill and shop. It's located in Gigiri next to the luxurious tribe hotel offering convenience to those who want to access accommodation. This mall has a very high inflow of both local and international visitors who come to interact and spread a cheerful vibe. Some of the services it offers include;banking &money services, health&safety service, technology, car repair &transport, beauty, home and family, fashion and lastly concierge. Famous stores located here include; Adidas,After eats,Artcaffe,Artz gallery,Ballpoints social club,Bata, Carrefour,City wall and CJ's. The list of shops I could make is endless and they literally can't all fit in this tiny review. It has a bowling alley that presents a perfect opportunity to let go of some steam and catch up with your friends. The Maasai market is open every Friday and you can get to grab some souvenirs and African products. The food court offers some of the best cuisines at different prices catering to different pockets. The only thing I didn't like about Village market is that on weekends and holidays it can get really really crowded and noisy .If you want to really have fun here be sure to not to go during peak hours.

A haven for art lovers. Just one visit and I’m one with Pablo Picasso.

This restaurant was a pleasant surprise for me . They are very few chic restaurants in Nairobi CBD and when I discovered this location I was very grateful. It's located along utalii street and it took quite a while to locate it probably because it was my first time. I haven't necessarily dined here but that one stop left me utterly impressed. I met a friend here to catch up after a long time over a cup of iced coffee. On entry the opening passage is not that appealing but the further you go, the better it becomes. This restaurant actually doubles as an art gallery and immediately you enter the main space what welcomes you is art and more art. The collection of the art from their gallery is mostly African. They feature different local artists for a period of time and showcase some of their best pieces. I don't know much about art but from the way those paintings were looking I think the artist would say the brushwork was well done. Because I'm just a layman in my simple language I think they were quite beautiful. The presentation was so artistic and the soft lighting gave it a whole calm vibe. The different paintings added so much color and warmth I absolutely fell in love.Their ice coffee was really really good. It was perfectly chilled with just the right amount of coffee and milk. I had about three and I couldn't get enough. Another thing I loved about this restaurant is the place is very quiet and spacious during the day making it perfect for official or general interactions that need a lot of conversations. The waiters were also friendly and the service was excellent. The only thing I ordered was iced coffee and this is generally cheap in all restaurants I can't really talk extensively about the pricing.

I prefer a nap instead but the little exercise here coupled with the wildlife was definitely worth it

I'm generally not an adrenaline junkie. The feeling of sweat dripping down my back and feeling of straining my muscles all the way is just not for me.However, the feeling of all the weight I carelessly gained after binging on one or two occasions get stripped away from my body leaving a perfect toned outline is quite satisfying. Because of my general dislike for strain , mountain climbing is not one of my very favourite things to do.But if you're idling around on a weekend and you like the whole climbing experience why not pack a few things or two and make your way to Mt.Longonot to get your spirits renewed. To be honest, all the partners I went with here felt so renewed but personally after only two hours all I felt was hunger and regret. It's a slippery slope. Mount Longonot is located in rift valley province. We went here on a Saturday morning and we decided to drive here.We left early so that we could get convenient time to climb the mountain. You also want to avoid the afternoon heat because I promise the heat plus the climbing is not a good combination. It took us about 2 hours to get there. The place is clean and very green. Basic rules of course is when climbing here carry as little as possible. I wish someone had told me,I carried a bag which I almost threw away as we went along. It's basically a beautiful long trail along a crater that gives you a view of some wildlife such as zebras, warthogs and gazelles. The animals really contributed alot to my adventure. I would also advise you to carry alot of water , preferably the only thing to avoid alot of straining. Also climbing the mountain in the counterclockwise direction is way easier and less strenuous because of the topography. The climb takes about 3 hours normally but it took me about 5 hours. I think the two extra hours was for every time I stopped and made a vow how I was never doing that again. (This was actually every few minutes so yeah). If you like adventure, definitely say yes to the climb. If you don't,say yes to the nap home instead.

And the way to be happy is to make someone happy and to have a little waffle down here.

I feel like this should not even be called a restaurant it's so tiny it should be called a spot . I'm telling you there's barely any place to move. It's like the kitchen, the sitting space , the entrance and the exit are all in one tiny room. They have an outside sitting section but it only makes so much of a difference. With the plain ambiance out of the way, this restaurant is a delightful place to enjoy excellently made waffles and pancakes. It's located in the food court of Lavington mall Nairobi. I was visiting a friend in the vicinity and they recommended their chicken waffles and ooh goodness! It's heaven on heaven. The combination of the two flavors with the chicken being a little bit savory and the waffles being a little bit sweet was everything I never knew I needed. I left a happy person. They actually have an option for having sweet on sweet if you're not a fan of savory meals. The D's savory chicken waffle with cream was 700/=. We added some beef ham and mushrooms at 100/=each. We also had their milkshakes, vanilla and oreo vanilla respectively. I never got to sample the crepes because by the time I was done with the waffles I was too full to even move.(but it's on my to do list so I'll definitely be going back) The customer service was very good and I was personally served by the restaurant because my visit coincided with his usual rounds .He even gave me and my partner two free platters for being their first customers of the day.

A store that’s here to stealthily take all my money from me but I’m definitely here for it.

The thing about the tiny little things this store sells is that you don't know you need them until you see them. The products here offer a whole level of convenience and just a few days after getting accustomed with them you end up wondering how your life was functioning without then. It's a Japanese lifestyle brand that very recently entered the Kenyan Market and has already set up quite a number of stores . Most of the stores if not all are located purely on Nairobi and its environs . I guess it's still getting rooted before it decides to speed its wings . Some of the branches include;the one in Westgate shopping mall, the one in village market ,the one in The Hub karen , the one in Thika road mall and lastly in Yaya centre. I have visited all these branches and the inventory is usually the same. They sell health and beauty products, toys, stationery, homeware, bags, digital products and so much more. I bought two bags from here at 900/= each . They are very affordable but the durability is a little bit lacking .They can also only hold so much weight so they serve for aesthetic purposes. I have also used some of their nail polish . I bought two for 319/= .The polish was very lasting and I didn't have to change it for about three weeks. I also like the toy section but I find it a little pricey you're better off buying toys elsewhere.I also bought a professional dart board from here which was quite small but for the price it was worth it. It was also difficult to suspend because it kept hanging off the wall so aimlessly becoming even a little bit funny. On a casual day when hanging out in any of these malls I'd advice for you to take a little peek at this mall. Like I said you'll never know you needed it until you see it on those shelves in Miniso.

Are you moving into a new house and you are looking for a pretty well known store that would perfectly meet all your requirements in regards to a specific appliance? Or have you already moved in and just weren't able to get your hands on the appliance of your dreams? Am not necessarily saying your dreams are gonna come true but am willing to make a bet you'd find something cooler. So recently I was on the hunt for an electric cooker and I just couldn't seem to find what I wanted .I randomly dropped by the hotpoint store in Yaya center and that's when I saw the perfect cooker for me. It was an ARISTON C911N1 4 gas +2 electric combination cooker. It's white in color with a very attractive enamel finishing. The oven door is clear and you can see whatever it is you are cooking take shape from the outside . The size is relatively large so you have to take account of the room that you have in your kitchen . The price was 60,000/=. The warranty was twelve months and the installation was free from some of their very professional experts. Genuinely, I wasn't disappointed. I even nowadays energy that never existed before to get into the kitchen and whip up something to eat. To be honest, ninety percent of the time I just like admiring my pretty little cooker. The staff at the store were very friendly and I particularly remembered the petite Asian woman who served me. She was very gentle and walked through the whole process with me answering all my many ridiculous questions very calmly. The after sale services are a little bit wanting and their communication is very poor. I had to call quite a number of times before I could get through . I haven't stayed with the cooker for a long time so it would be difficult to comment on the durability but so far so good .The also sell refrigerators, microwaves, washing machines and generally all household electrical appliances .

Some really durable, stylish and comfortable shoes.

Ever since I was young, I always went to Bata for all my shoe needs . It's one of the shops that has literally contributed quite a lot to my shoe journey in this lifetime. Essentially Bata is multi national corporation that aims to provide it's clients with some of the highest quality shoes at a very affordable price. It's main base of operation is in Limuru but the number of branches around the country is limitless. Even in the very deep outskirts there may be no electricity but I'm telling you there will definitely be a Bata (ha ha ha) .When I was young if your shoes weren't from Bata you were clearly doing something wrong . My first pair of shoes that I bought from here were from the toughees shoe collection and they were around 2000/=. This shoe collection alone has such a wide range that caters for both girls and boys. They also have a unisex category . The toughees are relatively durable and they used to last me about two years before getting worn out. Other than that, many of my shoe purchases as an adult has also been from Bata particularly their sneakers and rubber shoes. The sneakers generally go for more than 2000/= and their rubber shoes go for as low as 300/=. Some of their other brands include ;Power ,Northstar, Safari and Sandal . For convenience, they have an online store that I think works pretty effectively. They also have really good discounts that comes in handy when am trying to buy many pairs of shoes with a limited amount of money.

Four Points out of five for the amazing food and service.

This is a four star hotel there located in Hurlingam, Nairobi. It has a sister branch located at the airport that I find that waay luxurious . So I dropped by for lunch with a friend and from the entrance already I found it very underwhelming . I'm a little bit biased because of how great I thought the sister branch was so maybe I was a little prejudiced. Right from the entrance I could already tell how hospitable the staff were . They were very kind and patient, calmly guiding me through the several dining and accommodation options this hotel has. Because my interest was of the former I was informed there were two dining locations. There is a restaurant on the ground floor and one on the rooftop that's next to the pool. I definitely chose the rooftop one because why not. The first thing that shocked me when I got to the roof was how tiny their swimming pool is, it's so tiny it's funny. I had seen several pictures of the pool from the Internet and it looked half it's size in real life . For a rooftop bar there was very little thought that was put in the aesthetics . It was slightly cramped up . Other than that, everything else was great . The waiter that served us paid a lot of attention to details and the DJ was playing really good music. We both ordered steak and their cocktails. Everything was well done , the stake was juicy and the cocktails gave just the right amount of buzz. We didn't spend a lot of money because the food was fairly affordable and you don't need to dig into your pockets so much when dining here. I haven't used their accommodation service but all the reviews I've gotta are pretty good . The last thing that made my evening was the sunset viewing from the rooftop;so calming, soothing and extremely peaceful.Definitely a vibe.

Dining while gaming made easy.

It's the first ever gaming cafe I know about it Nairobi. It's probably the only one if I'm not wrong. Bao Box offers a variety of gaming options to it's customers as they enjoy fine dining in the heart of Nairobi. It is located in Westlands Nairobi. On entry,I loved how calm the set up was.The space was well lit with several breath taking fixtures. A very tasteful choice in interior decorations can be noted as soon as you walk through the door. The woody rustic vibe does absolute wonders for the ambiance I promise. I came here with a group of 3 and we chose to sit on the balcony. We were going for that amazing view from the outside and it did not disappoint. Bao Box has such a wide range of games to choose from you couldn't get a fill of them even if you tried. You pay for the individual games separately as you order so ensure you go with enough money to maximize your experience .I think it's a perfect hangout spot for you and your friends. You get to interact, enjoy great food, play so many games and chill all in one location. The food is a little pricey but it's very good there making it worth it.We ordered "The works" pizza which cost us 1300kshs, classic avo-greek salad which was 650kshs and finally two glasses of the house wine which went for 450kshs each. On another separate occasion,we had their Sunday deal.It basically comprised of two full chicken, lamb chops and your choice of a side for only 5000kshs.It was so much food and the 3 of us couldn't even finish half.Their chicken was so mouth watering it left such an impression. Their milkshakes however were bland and I would not recommend them. This place is perfect for family hangouts on the weekend because it offers something for everyone. Finally, the staff were friendly and the service was very okay.

Modern dining in a garden themed restuarant.

This is a modern restaurant that offers dining and drinking options in a very tranquil environment .The restaurant is garden themed giving it a leafy and cosy feel.It is located in Delta Towers,Westlands. The physical space is slightly small but the whole ambiance makes up for that. I went here on a first date and I think it was such a good choice. We ordered several things from their menu. For starters,we had their crispy chicken wings that were glazed with sweet soy sauce and topped with sesame seeds. It was about 950 shillings. Next ,for our main meal,we had theirJerusalem lamb chops. It was served with with rice and tahini slaw.It cost us around 1900/=.My partner was vegetarian so he ordered the vegetable grill instead. It was also served with rice and red cabbage coke slaw. The vegetable grill was around 1600 kshs.We downed our meals with cocktails that were both 800kshs.Personally,I found the lamb chops quite bland and not worth remembering. I've had better lamb chops that were juicier and spicier so for me it was very average .Every other meal we ordered was made to perfection. The cocktails were such a stunner. The venue was quiet with some background music playing creating a whole mood.Vibes on vibes. The restaurant is very easy to locate and it's just by the road making it very convenient if you're not driving.I would definitely recommend it.

This is one of the few restaurant in Coast Province that deal with serving and allowing you to experience authentic Chinese cuisines. It's located in Petrocity Plaza in Nyali. I went to this restaurants on one of my random impromptu visits to Coast to enjoy the sandy beach beaches. When we arrived we sat at one of their VIP sections .I had actually called prior to make a reservation. This was because we wanted some privacy and intimacy as we celebrated a friend of mine on their birthday. Their set up in general is nice .Quite simple yet sophisticated. I would recommend their VIP section if you're going for that one on one vibe with your loved ones. We were so many so the meals we ordered were quite varied. Their portions were average and for a Chinese restaurant I felt like their pricing was a little high. I've been to several Chinese restaurants and one of their selling points is giving large portions for a fair price. At Li's , I experienced a heavy contradiction on my self proclaimed theory. Other than that ,their food was cooked to perfection. Their noodles and their lambs were quite savoury. Some of the best Chinese food I've had in Mombasa. In regards to taste, they went even beyond my expectations and I'd definitely rate them at a 5/5.

This is one of the places in Coast Province that has left a very lasting impression on me. If given a choice, I'd go to Roberto's every day. Any time just say my name I'm coming for sure no questions asked. Roberto's is a family-owned restaurant: actually, it was a house that was further modified to become a restaurant. I guess this gives it some of the homey warm vibes it projects. It has a very chill casual energy inside it making it some of the best spots to unwind and just relax. The ambiance is just an added plus, their food is definitely what's up. When I went here I ordered two things from their menu and not even one made me feel disappointed. It gives really value for your money. First, we had the sea food pizza which had tomatoes, mozzarella, prawns, calamari, and tuna.It was 1400/= kshs.I put it in my mouth and I fell absolutely in love. So much flavour it's fascinating. This set the mood and had me ordering for more seafood-based meals. Our second plate was their Spaghetti alo Scoglio. It's basically pasta with prawns, calamari and fish in tomatoes sauce. It cost us around 1600/=kshs. This pasta equally left a very good impression. It was my first time having pasta with seafood and my thoughts are still the same: I could do that every day. Finally, we had a bottle of wine from their vast selection of Italian wines to down all that goodness we just had. My advice when visiting this place is to avoid random pop ups and make a reservation. It gets really full especially during the peak hours and one can get really inconvenienced; either being forced to go back to wait in line for a while. I can't wait to go back here.

A store that allows exploration into all your educational needs.

This is a chain store that acts as one of the largest sellers of books and all the stationery you could possibly need.It has several branches in Kenya and in whichever city you'd always be able to access them. Some of the branches I know of include:The one in Sarit Centre,Garden city,The hub ,Thika Road mall,Two rivers market and village Market .It has very flexible working hours. Most of the branches open from 9am and close at 7pm even on public holidays.I frequent this store because it services alot of my needs.Their inventory is wide and some of the things they have include:Textbooks, books, computers ,electronics, stationery, art supply, digital books, toys and lastly board games. Whatever author you're interested in, they got you. I've frequented this place since I was small but the last book I bought here was "Becoming " by Michelle Obama. It cost me around 2500kshs.The book was in perfect condition and well kept. The added advantage that this store presents is that they have online services where they can deliver whatever it is you need right to your door step.I find this highly convenient. They also have an on going offer on their online purchases where for products worth more than 2000kshs ,the delivery is absolutely free. For other purchases, the shipping charges to areas in Nairobi or around Nairobi is 250kshs. It's definitely a one stop shop for all your educational needs.

Emerald is a dental clinic that is located in Hurlingham. It just takes you several minutes from the Nairobi Central business district. This has been my go-to clinic for all my teeth related needs. It has some of the best personnel I have seen in any institution. The doctors are so professional and so thoughtful. They handle their patients with so much care offering such a wholesome experience. The equipment they have is also very modern: state of the art. This dental clinic offers a variety of services ranging from cosmetic dentistry, teeth whitening, white fillings, periodontics, dental implants, teeth whitening, braces, porcelain veneers, root canals, crowns, and lastly bridges. Access to this clinic is by appointment only and going unplanned always leads to inconvenience on your part unless it's very urgent. I went here the last time to get tooth fillings. They took a patient history, a physical examination, an x-ray, and lastly installed my fillings. The whole process was so painless and smooth. The doctor was so thorough paying so much attention to detail. By the time I was leaving my teeth looked so brand new for a second there I wasn't sure I visited there with dental caries. The transition was so seamless you genuinely can't tell I have fillings. They accept most private insurance cards as a form of payment. Their after-care services are also really good allowing you direct contact with your doctor incase of any complications.

Such a luxury experience right by the beach.

Almanara is located in Diani in the coast province. If I could uproot my whole life and start afresh here that would be really great. It's more of an assortment of luxury houses that offer some of the best services I've seen in Diani. Literally no exaggeration. The luxury villas offer chef and butler services. Other than that, it also has a pool, access to the beach, bar, spa, concierge services, horseback riding and so much more. I visited Almanara a couple of months ago just this year during the pandemic. I wanted a place to just sit by the beach and enjoy a good meal forgetting all the hustle that was going around. I also wanted to splurge and I was told this was the perfect location by some friends. In all honesty, Almanara did not disappoint. First what sent me was the views on top of views. Literal vibes on top of vibes. The sea had such clear waters and the sand by the beach looked so stunning. The whole space is so clean and well maintained, even the air smells luxurious. The restaurant that services these villas offer more of an open space set up. It allows you to enjoy the scenery as you dine. We ordered one meal here and it was so filling didn't need anymore. We had the seafood platter and a bottle of wine. The platters were very fresh and it had an assortment. Highly recommend their food. Their wine selection was also very great and broad. About the pricing, I did spend quite an amount but I felt like it was worth the service considering I already knew it was a luxury villa. The staff all the way from the receptionist were so professional I was very impressed. Rating it at an 8/5.

Peppercorn is a holiday retreat resort located in Naivasha county .It is a calm, serene and tranquil property found quite a while off the road.It offers a very budget friendly getaway from the high life to just relax and unwind. The drive from the tarmac road to the property is actually something to note .If you don't have a private vehicle I'd advise getting an uber or a taxi for convenience. I came here for an organizational retreat. We were around 30 members and we mainly took this trip for team building purposes. On arrival,we were warmly welcomed by the staff and directed to our rooms. The staff were warm, kind, gentle and they constantly made attempts to check in on us during our stay. The rooms were clean and spacious but the beds a little bit tiny and can barely fit two people. The retreat services were at per and I think this is a nice place for cooperate team building vacations. The food served was tasty but one thing I noted was that although they said it's all you can eat buffet there was alot of hesitation when it came to the servings and the portions .Another thing I didn't find favourable was that I constantly had to buy water from the restaurant because they only offer one bottle per room and that's barely enough. The pool was nice and clean so that's a plus. We were also able to have a bonfire and this offered so much warmth and intimacy. The only thing I didn't like about this place was the showers. The temperature of the water was so inconsistent it's hectic. This is a major inconvenience for someone who's on a retreat so anyone visiting here should consider this.Overally ,everything else was alright.

It’s the sipping cocktails by the beautiful beach that had me sold.

Nyali Beach Resort is a three-star restaurant located by the beach in Nyali. It offers accommodation, access to a private beach, food /drinks, table tennis, access to a golf course (within 3 km), fishing (off-site), massage, and finally windsurfing. The last three activities usually incur an additional charge and are not offered as part of the accommodation package. I visited this resort two years ago. I came for their dine-in services and to get access to their private beach. At the entrance,I paid roughly 700 shillings which were redeemable at the restaurant. This was to allow me to have access to the beach without prior accommodation. The beach was very clean and well kept. It wasn't overcrowded offering a tranquil and private experience. We ordered food from their menu. We had a couple of cocktails and for a snack, we had their spicy chicken wings and fries. We also ordered their pizza and I liked how generous they were with the toppings. There was a Dj who was on the decks and I must say he contributed a lot to my experience here. His playlist was very diverse and entertaining. I also got to play so many games on the beach. There was netball and also football: leaving me entertained and allowing me to break a sweat or two. However, I found this place very lacking when it came to cleanliness in some areas. I have never used accommodation services here but from the look of things, I'd prefer not to. This was very discouraging considering cleanliness contributes greatly to the comfort of your guests. I haven't visited here recently so I don't know if the conditions have changed but I'd recommend confirmation before booking.

Pride inn is a 3-star hotel that has several branches in Kenya. The one I visited is located in Westlands area, Nairobi. It's one of the very common locations for holding conferences and events. For those planning to hold or attend one here, I can confidently say that this place will definitely meet most of your needs. It has very efficient meeting venues and food packages creating such a conducive environment. Pride inn has this simplicity about it that makes it very elegant. I've gone here severally for medical conferences and each time I liked the experience. We were given a spacious and well-lit room to serve as our venue. The room was decorated accordingly and you could tell there was coordination with the hosts. Their menu on all days was wholesome and it had several options that catered for different types of eaters. The food was really tasty, particularly the lamb and the beef curry that I ate. The only particular problem I encountered here was that sometimes in different rooms if the other side of the wall is too loud there can be interference. Pride inn also offers a variety of other amenities /services and it's not restricted to conferencing facilities. These include: sit in dining in their restaurant, fitness centre, accommodation rooms, business centre and lastly outdoor pool services. Definitely recommend it. Their hospitality is also commendable.

A Deli offering satisfying meal options in Nairobi's Central Business District.

Cafe Deli is a chain restaurant with a current total of 3 branches in Nairobi. The most recent branch is the one along Kenyatta Avenue in Nairobi and that's the one I've visited. It offers a vast, spacious setting that has some of the best lighting decor I've seen in Nairobi restaurants : especially the topmost floor .Even before the food ,I'd love to talk about how the service was top notch. The waiters as well as the managers were very friendly. We'd decided to do dinner here in order to celebrate a cousins birthday and we wanted the staff to prepare a whole surprise party. They really did not disappoint. They way they came out with the cake and the whole delivery was really incredible. They sang waay energetically than even us adding a whole lot of life to the celebration. From their menu ,we ordered several things. First we started with cocktails because well ,Happy hour.We had the long island which went for 900kshs and the offer is you buy one get the other absolutely free. The cocktails were a little watered down and I couldn't really taste the alcohol which was somehow disappointing. We then ordered their mint and passion mocktails which were around 400 shillings: very candied and perfect for my sweet tooth .For the main meal,we ordered bitings and we each had their 12piecer Deli chicken wings which cost us 990kshs each. The wings and baked chicken lollipops were tossed in sticky sauce and it was served with a touch of chips .I loved the barbeque sauce on the wings and I'd definitely recommend them. Another thing that stuck with me was the ambiance and how I felt like it doubled as an official meeting place and casual meeting place all at once .This was definitely made easy by the floor partition. I absolutely loved my experience here.

Double trouble as I dine and Party all at once.

The clique lounge is a recently opened Night club that doubles down as a restaurant offering a variety of dining options to their clients. It's located along Ngong Road next to Prestige mall in Nairobi and you can't miss it. I visited this establishment on a Sunday to get a glimpse of the place and enjoy their brunch menu. I paid 2500 for the fixed brunch menu and was offered chicken wings (6pcs),choma sausages (4pcs), sauteed potatoes, and beef fillet strips. They also gave me 2 cocktails but if you don't drink they have mocktails or a soft drink option available. The food was alright and the chicken wings spicy enough. However, I felt like their menu was so stiff and choices very limited considering it was brunch. We also had a bottle of sweet red wine that was around 2500ksh as well as several beers that were 300kshs each. The clique lounge had a band called "Weavers Band " that was doing a live performance and saying it was lively is an understatement. The whole place was on fire. They were so entertaining and the lead singer had vocals that transcend the whole universe. They even let the customers present sing a couple of songs and of course I was the "customers" who took the microphone. It really was an incredible show. This place is currently my new favorite place in Nairobi and I would highly recommend it. The pricing is a little on the higher side so enough money is a must if you wanna enjoy yourself. Another thing was that I found the space very limited and crowded especially as evening drew near so make it a point to make a reservation. You need to pay 2000ksh to make the reservation and this money is redeemable on bottled drinks only.

A rather average and casual dining experience.

Big square is a casual dining restaurant that has several branches all around the country. I've been to the branches in town,Gigiri, Garden city, and the one in Nyali, Mombasa. In my opinion, the food is very casual. If you want to get the experience of fine dining I would not recommend it. The branch in Garden City has a nice little cozy vibe to it. It offers an indoor sitting section and an outdoor kind of lounge section. A nice atmosphere to be honest. The decor is alright and not particularly lacking. On my first visit, I went here for their cocktails. It was around 4 years ago and I have to say what was offered was definitely not what was advertised. They were watered down and they even served it to me in a plastic disposable cup with the reasoning that people tend to break the glasses when drunk. They had an offer going on and were charging 3 for the price of 1000kshs. I guess that was the catch. The second time I ordered a milkshake and their grilled chicken. The chicken was 950ksh and the milkshakes are priced at 300kshs. The milkshake alright but the chicken, not to my liking at all! It was very dry and I couldn't feel the lemon and chili that was supposed to be infused in it. This restaurants saving grace to me maybe is their breakfast menu. Their coffee is usually good and the full breakfast platter that goes for 630kshs is palatable. Big square is not a favourite of mine when it comes to dining but it would probably serve the purpose for a grab-and-go meal.

Experience an exciting tour of a beautiful collection of plants and animals

Haller Park offers a nice blend of wildlife and plants .It is a nature park in Bamburi Mombasa. Its a chill outdoor activity that's serves as an ideal family outing when you visit Mombasa. For adults,we were charged 500 shillings at the entrance. It's clean ,nice ,simple and cool.A really nice place if you want to learn about nature in a relaxed environment :both plants and animals. I visited the place in the afternoon because our tour guide had told us it's the best time to do that. That's when feeding of the animals starts and the place gets livelier. In actuality, the different animals have different feeding times as we got to learn from the visit that is:11 am and 3 pm for the Giraffes ,4 pm for the Hippos, Buffalo and Crocodiles. The selection of animals is very wide.We saw buffalos, hippos, crocodiles, tortoises ,giraffes, snakes, butterflies ,fish and monkeys. When we went there,we got to get the experience of feeding some animals. For me, the thrill came mostly from seeing the crocodiles and the hippos grab huge chunks of meat like there's no tomorrow. At some point I even thought they were coming for me because of how high the crocodiles were jumping.Feeding the giraffes was also fun but it wasn't my first time so it wasn't as exciting. The environment at haller park is very green and beautiful a picnic here would actually be something I'd recommend. However,I do not like how hot Mombasa gets so the walk I took on the trails (let alone a picnic) was slightly tedious I wished I was submerged in the ocean instead.

Beautiful Flora and Fauna by the lakeside.

I live in Kisumu City and genuinely speaking we don't have that many tourist attractions. This Impala Sanctuary is one of the few that actually is our saving grace. It's located by the lake and a view of Lake Victoria is guaranteed. The view of the lake is not even the last of it ,when the sun is setting ,the beauty of the aesthetics it creates on the lake is unmatched. They have a section called Sundowner that's perfect for this. This wildlife sanctuary serves as an escape from Kisumu city life in order to just relax. The entrance fee is as follows:for resident adults it's 300 kshs, resident children 100kshs, non resident adults 2000kshs( the rates could be different by now) and finally non resident children it's 1000kshs. I've gotten to see a wide selection of animals here .I've seen lions, lionesses, leopard, baboons, hyena, buffaloes, giraffe, cheetahs, bushbucks, patas monkey, bush duiker, tortoise, warthogs and so much more. The range will not disappoint you. I've come here severally and on some instances I just went to have a tiny picnic with a couple of friends. They offer several picnic locations, around 5 and you can get to choose where you find more convenient. The best part of my picnic was that they had a tiny "kitchen" where anyone who was feeling enthusiastic could walk right in and whip something up.The tour guides were enthusiastic and very informative on all my visits. What I don't like about this place however is how the lake has lost it's beauty and it's not the same anymore. So much weeds is all that can be seen over a span of land and it's rather disappointing honestly.

Mini Picnic in a Mini Paradise.

Paradise lost allows you to enjoy nature in Kiambu. It is a natural beautiful scenic location found in Kiambu town. It is located in the middle of a coffee farm and it offers several activities in it's vicinities .The entry fee is ksh 400 per person for adults that reside in Kenya, 1000 for non residents and 300 for children. Compared to other nature activities such as Ololua nature trail , I found this relatively pricey especially because this cost covered none of the other activities inside. The activities were actually so varied and they included : exploring the stone age caves, getting a view of the stunning waterfalls, cosy picnic sites, fishing, boat riding, horse riding, carmel riding, bird watching and finally visiting the coffee farm. I like this place but it's quite pricey in my opinion , that is relative to the quality of services rendered. Paying at the entrance then paying for each tiny individual activity is so not cost effective. When we went here we had a picnic and a cook out . I'm actually grateful we did that because if we had indulged i would have incurred unnecessary costs .My advice visiting here is to come with your own plans forehand, like having a mini picnic and just enjoying the company of your loved ones . Another thing to note as you visit is that the waterfalls are seasonal and sometimes they barely have water .On a lighter note ,the boat ride was very very fun.Definitely recommend that activity.

An experience of becoming one with Nature in Nairobi.

If you're in Nairobi and you're into nature I think this place is a must visit. Nairobi national park is considered a wildlife capital and I agree:it definitely is.Its located in karen area.It is broadly comprised of an orphanage, safari walk and lastly the national park itself .I went here on a casual outing with a couple of friends in attempt to become one with nature.I can confidently say that we succeeded.Visiting this place is an activity that can literally be enjoyed by people of all ages. The old,the young and I bet even toddlers and infants who can barely talk would find this thrilling. If you're planning on visiting here , I have several recommendations.First,go early in the morning hours. The earlier you go,the more animals you see.We saw zebras, lions, warthogs, giraffes, antelopes and so many birds.Second ,a land cruiser is the best choice of tour vehicle for convenience .We used Trippygo .This is a tour company and it was charging 2000/=per seat for a land cruiser tour. The package they offered involved picking us up directly from home and I found that very convenient. At the entrance,we were charged 500 shillings only .Lastly, get your hand on some binoculars. If you don't have them make sure the tour company provides you with some. This gives a wider view of the many acres of land that make up this park. You also get to see more animals even the ones at a relatively far distance. When we were doing the game drive,we were only allowed to alight at certain specific locations. This is done for your safety because the animals are usually not restricted and humans make the perfect dinner for some of them.We actually arrived at the first safe spot after around 3 hours so that's also a point to note. You can also do bird watching, picnics and even cook at other locations.Quite an experience and definitely recommend.

A perfect meal surrounded by the beautiful Ocean.

It is generally a modern living complex located in Mombasa. It offers accommodation in the form of luxury apartments with hotel like facilities .English point aĺlows you to indulge in a fantastic exciting experience with all their amenities. The restaurants takes you on an a whole journey making this easily one of my favorite dining locations in Coast. Its such an amazing place to relax and unwind from all the Mombasa heat.Personally I never got to enjoy the insane accommodation service they offer, but I know it goes for around 10,000 per night. The apartments are usually 3 bedroomed with state of the art facilities. My most revered thing when I visited was the sound of waves as I ate.The sea that was just right there;stretch out your hands and you can literally touch the it (hahaha jk).For our meals ,we ate prawns ,burgers and several grilled platters which had lobsters.I have to say that the food took quite a long while to come which was very disappointing. We had to wait for around an hour. The platters cost us a total of 6,500/= and it was very filling. If you want a meal with a view, this is the place for you.The ocean breeze will soothe all your problems away leaving you very relaxed.

Enjoy fine dining with the added thrill of floating on the ocean

Moorings is a floating restaurant located on the North coast. It is situated on top of Mtwapa creek. It offers such a tranquil experience. Such a serene location. The view during the sunset is utter divinity. A whole level of perfection. I went here on Friday evening with a couple of friends. Of course, the first thing that caught our eyes was the environment. It's a nice cozy little restaurant suspended on top of the sea. A little scary at first. Actually, that wasn't the scariest part of it all. There are some trails that get you to the restaurant and when you look below all you see is the ocean. I had to hold a hand and close my eyes as I walked by. Those with a phobia of the sea should definitely avoid it. On settling, we ordered calamari platters, seafood pizza, and a bottle of wine. Spent around a total of 3400/= for the whole meal plus drinks. The pizza was tasty and spicy just how I like it. During our visit, there was karaoke going on. It was so lovely. Everyone in the restaurant was full of life. I literally sang my lungs out. Too bad I didn't end up winning the "meal on the house " prize that was up for grabs. Despite that, I totally enjoyed my visit here. My favorite memory from that night was singing Justin Timberlake's "Mirrors" and having the whole restaurant joined in unison. A night for the books.

Lush green resort with perfect modern ambiance.

On a random casual Sunday, my parents and I visited Cala Resort. It is located in Daraja mbili , Kisumu. It's actually quite a drive from the city. I squeezed in a nap or two on my way, can't really tell. On entry, I was perfectly pleased. The environs encircling give you a perfectly green view: so eye-catching. You get to see the beautiful hills that surround the place giving you this unreserved feeling of being one with nature. For scenery and ambiance, I give it a 5/5. The decor was pleasing to the eye. Quite sophisticated and elegant. I walked in and noticed that they offer various sitting locations. You can choose to sit anywhere at your own convenience. There's an indoor section for formal dining, the poolside section that's very chill, and finally, their garden that gives you a whole nature aesthetic. The garden is so well kept and perfectly manicured. Personally, I sat in their garden because why not. Concerning their staff, I found them hospitable and gentle. Our food was delivered on time and I didn't have to go through the usual hectic wait. The food is somehow pricy compared to other places in Kisumu though that is to be expected of such a resort. We spent around 6000/ shillings for a filling meal for 3. The chicken we had was perfectly cooked just to my liking. The French fries on the other hand were lackluster. The price aforementioned was not inclusive of the drinks we ordered. In regards to coverage, Ciala Resort also offers other amenities such as accommodation rooms, conference service, spa, fitness centre, steam rooms, pool, bar and so so much more. All the details are available on their website allowing you to be prepared before you make a visit.

The Wine Shop typically is a wine bar that also doubles as a Cafe.It offers a winery where you get to explore such an explosive variety of the different bottles of wine they sell. You can either order by the glass or by the bottle. The cafe or restuarant allows you to eat from their range of wine compatible bitings as you sip at your own comfort. It is Located in Loresho Nairobi. It is usually open from 10am to 7pm on Monday to Friday but stays closed on Sundays. They offer sparkling wine, red wine, white wine, wine glasses and decanters as part of their inventory. These are always priced in a wide range especially the bottles of wine depending on the quality and the artistry incorporated in their brewing. They also have an online store where you can be able to access the same exact menu and get your order delivered at the comfort of your own space. This wine shop doubles as a retail and wholesale wine shop and those who want to buy wine in bulk can do so here. When I came here I ordered a bottle of sparkling wine called Zonin Moscato which was priced at 1695/= shillings. We also ordered a cheese platters that were such a perfect accompaniment for the bottle of wine. What I really love about this place is their range. You're always spoilt for choice when picking a bottle to enjoy. I also found the staff very friendly, couldn't help tipping generously.

One stop shop for all (okay most) of your beauty needs.

This is a supply store with several branches in all the major cities and towns in Kenya. It invests itself in selling hair products and generally all this related to beauty. I have been to several branches and in the Nairobi business district, I have visited a total of 4. The one I usually frequent mostly is this one located along Moi Avenue. Best Lady is genuinely a one-stop location for all of your beauty needs and it saves a lot of time. Once you get in, you can access a wide range of products that is: Beauty care, accessories, Body care, Haircare products, Ladies' wear (sanitary included), Makeup, Nails, Salon, and kinyozi accessories. It is always fully and adequately stocked with some of the famous and popular brands in the country. I love how there are several assistants to aid you in looking for whatever it is you want because sometimes it can really be cumbersome. I frequently go here to buy hair products. Their prices are cheaper by several shillings compared to other stores. They close shop by around 7 pm according to what I know. What I don't like about this store is that sometimes it can get really crowded and maneuvering becomes so difficult.

Karura is a thick forest located in the outskirts of Nairobi, just a few minutes drive from the central business district . It's quite large and it's full of a dense leafy and green population of trees. It's open from 6am to 6pm and the entry charges are usually only 200kshs.A very budget friend plan. You can choose to either go alone or with a couple of friends but either way I think the venue is perfect. If you go with a group of friends you can get to do a couple of activities together. You can jog,go bicycle riding, take a walk ,hike or even decide to just stay put somewhere and have a nice cosy picnic. I feel like the ambiance is so serene and so tranquil:just perfect if you need to spend some time alone in nature. Inside Karura ,there's a very nice waterfall. You can actually get in there and enjoy the feeling of having the cold water rush through your body. There are also many marked trails and caves around. Frequently,I see so many monkeys up and about. I go to Karura every few months, anytime I want to explore the outdoors and get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Most times I've gone with friends .One instance we just rode the bicycles .On the other we had a picnic in the middle of the thicket. Both times I'd definitely recommend.

My fitness paradise.

This is a yoga studio in Nairobi. It is located in diamond plaza .I was dragged here by a friend of mine to attend their free Saturday sessions that usually start from around 10am to 12pm. Honestly for an unfit person like me those 2 hours were the worst in my entire life. The different routines made me feel like my whole body was being stretched and my bones tugged in different directions. The worst part was that I was the only one . Every other person looked like they were so in their elements not even breaking a sweat while me on the other hand I was completely drenched. Despite that I still went back and my following visits weren't as bad.The sessions brought so much wellness and the meditation really helped. They usually offer daily courses and sessions. These sessions are usually supervised by different modulators well versed in the area. They have an intro special package for 2000 shillings for your first month. They also charge a daily rate of 1000 shillings per drop in class.I know they have several other monthly packages but I don't know the prices. For the Saturday community classes, it's free of charge and you get to interact with so many people .The Studio also offers a free vegetarian lunch to everyone so that's a plus. Definitely recommend to all health and fitness enthusiasts.

I occasionally go here to sample from different selections of the juice bar menu, snacks such as pizza and finally their ice cream. There are so many branches in Nairobi. I have visited a few : the branch in Garden City,Village Market,ABC place in Westlands and the Junction Mall. The products are usually handled with a very high degree of professionalism and hygiene . They are very well preserved and appropriately stored to maintain their freshness. Personally I love their food section. I've had their smoothies which were about 500kshs on several occasions as well as their ice cream which was 80kshs per scoop. The price of the ice cream per scoop was actually higher before .It was just lowered recently. I've tried their pizza once and they did not disappoint. They have a sit in section where you can eat your food even as the others continue to shop. The vegetables are usually so fresh giving such a splash of colour on entry and this just puts you in the mood for grocery shopping. They also have an online store where you can place your order and it gets delivered right to your door step.Talk about convenience! The prices may sometimes be higher than other shopping malls or vegetables stores and it's advisable to go with enough money.

I have very mixed feelings towards this Airline because on two instances I had very different experiences.I've used it several times for local trips in Kenya. To Mombasa and Kisumu .I genuinely liked their service during those several occasions. I felt there was comfort and convenience. Arriving at my destination in a flash. The legroom was sufficient. My seat was comfortable and the customer service was alright .I did get value for my money. It was quite clean and they offered refreshments. I also had a set date for my travel so I booked my flight waay earlier and got a significant price discount. On the second occasion I booked an international flight for a family member of mine .We did the whole process online and paid. When we arrived at the airport,we discovered the flight we got a seat in was already fully booked by the time we were even buying our tickets. It was such an inconvenience and we had to postpone the flight to the following day even missing a very important deadline. They offered compensation but it still didn't make up for the hustle we had been put through. I would not recommend booking flights online for very important trips.I don't find their online services reliable anymore .But otherwise their services are alright.

It's actually always fully stocked and I always find whatever it is I need.My favourite thing about this supermarket is their food services offered by their kitchenette and bakery. They have such quick and easy meals you can grab on touch and go if you're in a hurry. My favourite off their menu is their chicken wings. I can never get enough. I could actually eat them the whole day. They also have a butchery and a section for free vegetables and fruits. They stock alot of greens and they are usually so fresh. They also stock up on cereals in some of their branches. The atmosphere is friendly. The staff are usually very helpful and assist anywhere you need some guidance. The only thing I don't like about this supermarket is it usually gets really really crowded especially in the evenings when it's peak rush hour. You can end up standing in line for a while and for the branches with a small physical space, shopping becomes uncomfortable. The prices are very affordable .They also have a website that offers online delivery for some of their cooked as well as uncooked food products.

Definitely one of the very popular chain stores. Good life is a pharmacy that doubles as a beauty and personal care shop.It deals with selling over the counter drugs and beauty products. There a so so many branches of Good life all around the country it really is difficult to keep track of them all. I know of the branches located in Garden City,Kenyatta Avenue,Ridgeways,The Junction and Village Market .Apart from selling drugs and cosmetics, they offer other services such as inhouse lab ,eye care ( although not all the branches I know have this service).instore tests as well as wellness services. I've come here for over the counter drugs : paracetamol tablets.I also bought a cosmetic mattyfying face cream called Vichy Ideal Soleil priced at 2300.This cream had SPF 50 and is useful as a perfect sunscreen to prevent skin damage from UV rays. The last thing I've bought from this pharmacy was 1000mg Vitamin C tablets that were priced at 1270/= kshs. They actually offer a really wide range of pharmaceutical products .What I like about this pharmacy is the authenticity of the products. Even their cosmetics are authentic with no risk of counterfeiting.

Greenworld is an organisation that started with the aim of providing healthy plant based alternatives of medication to people. It functions primarily as a preventive based foundation according to what I gather because most of their products are usually preventive. They also have curative products for different diseases and disorders. In short, using plant based medicine to elevate people's lives is their mantra. I have purchased Vitamin C from them a couple of times.60 capsules containing 700mg of Vitamin C per tablet. I have also bought their iron tablets. The benefits of Vitamin C are antioxidant properties ,immunity booster as well as resistance builder.I've also seen a couple of people take their blueberry range of products and give good reviews about it. Apart from healthcare products, they also sell : food products, healthcare devices, skin care and finally their tourmaline series. They have a physical store located in Kipro Centre, Sports Rd, Nairobi.Buying Greenworld products from anywhere else usually poses such a high risk for counterfeiting so I would advise one to make direct purchases from Greenworld .

It's one of the leading eye care service providers in Kenya. I started wearing my glasses about 8 years ago and I have only ever bought my glasses from there. I have always ordered the glasses directly from their branches and they never delay past the due date. The prices for their frames have a very low starting point so it can accommodate a variety of customers depending on their financial capabilities. They always have such cute frames and they have several designer brands which I find perfect. Another point is that their frames are also gender friendly: a variety of those suitable for men and those suitable for women and some even unisex. I genuinely spend up to an hour just sizing up their collection and deciding between one incredible frame and another equally incredible frame. Such a hustle. Sometimes I just take them all. I like their opticians and eye experts, very friendly and professional. Other than their service of offering ophthalmic lenses, they also offer: blue light blocking lenses, sunglasses, contact lenses, cords, cases, and lens care products. They have many different branches all over giving countrywide access to you. Wherever you are, no worries.

Acacìa is a very modern and upscale that is found in the busy and bustling city of Kisumu. It is located next to the West End mall that was recently opened in Kisumu.I find this very convenient especially for foreigners who are new in town. If offers a variety of amenities such as Wi-Fi,space,outdoor pool, perfectly situated terrace that gives you a perfect view of Lake Victoria: such a scenic view, poolside bar and grill ,a pretty cosy cafe that serves really good Coffee, fitness centre and finally massage parlour.Check in is usually from noon to 8pm.The staff at the Buzz Bar were friendly sometimes but on other times I felt like the hospitality was on the lower end of the spectrum. They took too long to deliver the food and I had to wait for quite a long while.I also felt like the food was a little bland for the price we paid. The cocktails were okay and though stayed for a while they were not watered down.Sitting by the pool bar sipping cocktails as I dip in the pool was what I did the whole day I went there. It was very relaxing. In regards to accomodation, the lowest price I know for a standard room is 17,000 kenyan shillings per night. This pricing is on the higher end and I would advise to check their website and confirm the details before visiting.

A nice simple indulging activity.

It's a wildlife conservation Park in Nairobi. It is located in Lang'ata one of Nairobi's suburbs. It's easy to locate from the central business district and pretty straightforward .The only animals found here are Giraffes and it was actually started to preserve their species that were getting endangered pretty fast. From the centre you can take a stroll on a nature trail that's usually there and while you do so bird watching is a very common activity. There's also a tea house and gift shop available as some of the amenities you can access. The entrance fee you pay usually varies from residents to tourists and also school tours. I paid 400 kshs and some non residents paid 1500 Kenya shillings. The time that it's open for Giraffe feeding is from 9am to 5pm.When you go here , you usually get to learn quite alot of new things about the endangered Giraffe species and also about the foundation that led to the opening of this centre. You also get to feed them which I found very exciting. Some very explorative people actually got to steal a kiss from the giraffe .I guess I'm not so much into exploration. I love this place because it's very family friendly and you can come here to spend time with your family, your friends, your partner irrespective of the age and you'll actually enjoy yourselves.

This is a recently opened chain of supermarkets in Kenya. To be honest it's more of a hypermarket .The range of products and the amount of brands they Cater for is quite large if you ask me .It ranges from : electronics ,TV and Audio , Health, Beauty,Personal products, cleaning and detergents, garden appliances, pet products, furniture, clothing, accesories , stationery, baby care , worldwide food products , groceries , toys and DIY tools.Even the physical space is usually larger than most general supermarkets in Nairobi. They offer a really great shopping experience with a very fair price range. Because one of my favourite things is deals, deals and more deals!!I love how Carrefour usually have discounts on some of their brands for a period of time throughout the year.Their craziest period for deals is of course Black November where the discounts take a deep dive to up to 75 % off on selected products. There are of course several branches all around the country and the one I frequent most is the one in Garden City Mall along Thika Super Highway. It's close to my residence hence the convenience. They also have a mini restuarant and bakery inside their supermarket offering a variety of freshly baked and cooked products. I think their lasagne knows me by heart as much as I know it by heart .I also like their barbeque wings, the sauce is very tasty and the pricing depending on the weight very convenient. A perfect stop for all your household needs.

I need another vacation here.

I went to this paradise two years ago with a couple of friends for a weekend. This Resort is located on the silver sand of Bamburi beach, several kilometres before you get to the city of Mombasa. This was my first every holiday destination in Kenya.I literally did not want to leave.Everything was done to perfection for me. As soon as we arrived, the personnel working there were so warm and friendly. We got a double room and the rooms are very spacious and clean. Very well furnished. The first thing that drove us crazy was the beach that was right there, literally two steps and I'm one with the ocean. The convenience was just perfect: allowing us to spend mornings and late nights by the beach being one with nature. They have several restuarants in the hotel and the package we had was giving all you can eat buffet for every meal for the 3 days we were there. About the food that was served,my answer is YES!Although some of my friends had a problem with some of the cuisines they were not used to ,everything else was done to perfection. They had a build your own omelette and pasta sections which were the ones I looked forward to mostly. We took the open bar package,so trust me when I say there was no single second I didn't have either a glass of wine or a cocktail on my hand. The security was ample. They had other amenities such as down-to-earth quarters in a beachfront resort with free Wi-FI & breakfast, plus a freshwater pool. The price is usually around 17,000 -23,000 per night for a standard room.I highly recommend it.

I mostly use the jumia services for food delivery. This is an online food ordering service that allows you to enjoy various delicacies from some of the most renowned restuarants and vendors in Kenya at the comfort of your own home. You can download the app from Google play store or the Apple store. I've ordered several meals here :currently really enjoying the different black Friday deals they have going on. Once you download the app you enter several of your details and then allow the app to access your location. Once it does, it scans all the open restuarants around where you are and gives you a variety of options. The food is then delivered right to your door step. The charges include the price of the food , the delivery charges as well as the service fee.The delivery charges depend on the proximity of where you are to the restuarant/Vendor.One thing I love about this app is convenience. As a lover of food and wine ,the fact that I can get to enjoy all my favourite cuisines at the comfort of my own home is one of my most treasured luxuries. Another one of their deals is that a given discount is applied for first time users with a promotion code. I got a discount of 500 shillings on my first order. The delivery time also depends on the distance and the estimates given for the few times I've used the app have never been far off. There are different options for payment and for the sceptical one's you can choose to pay on delivery.

Clothes!Clothes and more clothes!

This is basically regarded as a clothing store. It doubles down to a shoe store, accessories store and also sells some home fixtures. Mr.price is a chain store that has several branches in Kenya in different malls.I know of the ones in Garden City and The Junction Mall. I've actually only visited those two.One thing I love about them diversity .They have men's clothing, women's clothing as well as clothing for kids. It's very family friendly. I also genuinely love their prices because for some of their pieces you get value for your money. They have several well lit changing rooms that are usually fixed with a number of mirrors to offer a variety of angles. I have to admit there are many times I've met people in the streets wearing the exact same outfit that I am but I had to brush it off with the excuse great minds in fashion think alike. So that's one risk of shopping here. They also sell shoes of different types and several accessories. Ranging from earrings , neckpieces to sunglasses. They also have a variety of home fixtures in a specific station though they are usually limited. The staff are so friendly and helpful all the time. I have never had a negative interaction in all my visits .

Public university .

This is a public Ùniversity in Kenya with it's main branch in both Nairobi and Kiambu County. It has so many other branches around the country. I've never really visited the other branches of the university but I go to the one along Thika Road next to Kahawa Sukari. It is one of the most developed universities in Nairobi in terms of infrastructure with well maintained facilities (well some of them). It offers quite a variety of undergraduate, postgraduate and diploma courses.I also like that it offers online learning, part time learning for students who need to work and also full time learning. The fees structure varies depending on the course you are taking if you are a self sponsored student but for those who are government sponsored ,the rates are usually pretty standard .There is accomodation offered for government sponsored students .Self sponsored students can also apply although to be honest they rarely get assigned. There are however other accomodation options around the school in the neighbouring residential areas .The hostels are not really at per , having issues here and there ,but the price is usually very cheap so that's a plus if you want to save money. What I don't like about this university is that it is prone to alot of strikes .I find this very draining and time consuming especially if the degree you want to acquire like for instance a medical one takes about 6years ,you end up spending even up to 8 or 9.

I went here on a casual Wednesdays with some friends to let loose and relax. It has a very relaxed ambiance, very casual and chill. There were so many families present and it's definitely one of the things to do with your family in the vast mall that is Village market. The Village bowl actually also had some games other than bowling present and a Hangouts lounge where you can sit and relax in case the bowling gets too exhausting. It usually costs around Kshs 350 per person per game(Mon to Friday 10a.m to 4p.m) From 4p.m it Kshs 500 per person per game, as well as weekends.I found this price fair enough and even went for a couple of rounds.I had never gone for bowling before and that was my first time. There was so much adrenaline on my part and I couldn't get enough. Probably because I kept winning. All the sore losers were too tired after 1 round. You also get to enjoy all the other amenities that Village Market has to offer which trust me ,are alot. There's several food stalls , restaurants ,bars ,wineries ,supermarkets, shops and even art galleries They offer you shoes for bowling and they are available in varied sizes so that shouldn't be a point of concern.

Italian heaven

Meditteraneo is an Italian restaurant with around 3 branches in Nairobi. There's one in Junction Mall, another one in Westlands 9west building and the last branch is located in Gigiri. It prides itself in allowing you to take a walk through several Italian delicacies, served with the utmost dedication. They also offer a variety of Italian wines and the cooking employs some of the native Italian cooking styles. The styling on the interior space is also tailored to give the perfect Italian dining experience. I went to the branch in Westlands 9 West and it has recently been renovated I'm yet to see how it looks now.I ordered one of their many Italian Pizzas called Quattro stagioni that was priced at 1,450kshs. It had tomato sauce, home made mozzarella cheese, cooked ham, fresh white mushrooms, artichokes and olives. My mouth was literally full of flavour and more flavour. It was exceptionally done. The only thing I didn't like was the olives in it . We also ordered the Double calzone “Vesuvio” pizza .It was priced at 1,450kshs. It's essentially a stuffed double pizza with tomato sauce, homemade mozzarella cheese, taleggio, artichokes and cooked ham. Italian cuisine became a favourite of mine because of Meditteraneo.I really want to try their pasta because I have a feeling I'd be so impressed I'd have to officially move my things and live there. I also had their cocktails and they were around 900kshs.If you love Italian, definitely a 5/5.

It’s Burgers! Burgers and more burgers!

Urban gourmet has so many branches in Nairobi I even lose count. The branch I frequent most is the one in the garden city that is located in the same space as Art Caffe but I've visited quite a lot even this branch in Village market. This restaurant literally transforms the burger experience. 100% recommend. The burgers are very filling and tasty. I have tried all the burgers on their menu and my favourite one has to be the Texas burger. I also like The Hulk but I think I mostly get excited because it's enormous hence the name. The patty is usually well done and all the fillings just add so much life to the burgers. The Texas burger is made up of Prime beef patty with crispy bacon, cheddar cheese, fried egg, lettuce, and barbecue sauce. The Hulk on the other hand is made up of Two prime beef patties with double cheese, fried onions, garlic mayonnaise, ketchup, lettuce & tomatoes. You can choose either a side of fries or onions rings that are usually served with homemade dip to accompany your burger. The burgers are very fairly priced: ranging from the lowest at 790 kshs to 1290 kshs for the highest (the Hulk). The best part is always deals, deals, and more deals. Every Monday all burgers on the menu except The Hulk have an offer to buy two at the price of 990 only and who wouldn't love that?

The cocktails are great.

I dropped by News Cafe a couple of times not for food precisely but for cocktails. Their cocktails are a stunner especially the seven deadly sins. Just as the name suggests, it's deadly and you'll probably be sinning later. They have so many branches but I've only been to the ones in Sarit Centre and the one in Karen. They have happy hour on all their cocktails, But it's not BOGOF: it's a price reduction on some glasses. The service for me was relatively slow. Maybe because it was full to the brim on that day but we had to wait for quite a while before we could get our orders even taken and the cocktail wait was around 20 minutes. As evening drew near and they started playing music it became a little difficult to converse. Again I attributed that to maybe because it was crowded. Maybe a visit on hours that are not peak is way more ideal. I had burgers here once and they were actually pretty nice.

It may have felt good.

Coffee Casa is a restaurant located in Parklands in doctors park whose mantra is to make you feel good. I've dined here twice. On one occasion we visited the typical neighborhood restaurant casually on a Friday and sampled a variety of their food. On entry, I could really appreciate that time as taken in converting the space into a healthier and warm environment. It's quite large with so much room but the homey feeling never goes away. Everywhere I turned my eyes were pleased right from the entrance. We had their Strawberry Virgin Mojito with fresh strawberries which cost KES 500. We also had their chicken wings for starters which were marinated in Poussin, honey chilly garlic, and buffalo, and the cost was KES 900. We also ordered the crunchy chicken burger which cost KES 950. To be honest the burger experience quite unsatisfactory and too dry and crusty for my liking. We also ordered the Chicken Tikka Pizza which cost KES 900. The pizza was okay and I could actually feel the seasoning...redeeming the burgers a little. On my second visit, I went for the BOGOF offer on their milkshakes which reminds me: Coffee Casa has daily deals on specific items. Following their Instagram page would keep you in the loop so that you don't miss out. I'd rate them at 3.7/5.

I really loved their cheesy fries.

Kafe Koko is a specialty coffee house and restaurant located in Two Rivers Shopping Mall.It specialises in offering cuisines from all over Africa specially crafted to allow you enjoy rich flavour from all around . It actually also helps you appreciate diversity in African food culture.I visited Kafe Koko for lunch on a weekday and there were very few people so it was very calm .The waiters were really friendly and the service was at per.Our food was delivered in such a short time and it was so convenient. I had their chicken wings , also referred to as Koko hot wings. It had 12 Wings tossed in mango bourbon barbeque sauce and served with red chilli ranch dressing . It cost 1180 KSh.I also ordered the chicken cheesy fries which cost 620 KSh. I'm such a lover of cheese and I must say they were absolutely not stingy with it.The fries were also loaded with alot of chicken pieces. I ordered a mocktail to down the food which was sweet just to my liking. I will definitely go back here because I never really got to have the African dishes on their menu. I definitely recommend and I'd rate them at 4/5.

Bringing Dublin to you.

The Tav is an Irish Pub located in The Mirage, Chiromo Road, Westlands. It also doubles as a restuarant and attempts to allow you to get a full Dublin experience right here in Kenya. It has a terrace and indoor section for a quiet dine in. The terrace is usually loud on most days and very open I felt it didn't offer a lot of privacy. On the bright side, if a wild evening is what you're aiming for then YES! I've gone there twice, once for Karaoke with a couple of friends and on the other occasion for lunch. The karaoke was very exciting, the host was quite lively, and would definitely recommend it if you and a couple of friends want to go indulge yourself in some laid-back fun. They had happy hour at fair prices so the drinks never ran out. We had Long Island cocktails which were around 900kshs. The second time we went to grab their business lunch deal. It's a budget deal and for 600 we got a starter and a main meal. The soup was just alright, the rice and chicken stew were also tasty: just worth the money we spent. One thing I liked about The Tav was the wall graffiti and the aesthetic of the whole inner space. Very captivating.

Bringing Japan to you.

Cheka Izakaya is a Japanese restaurant in Nairobi. It's located in Kauria Close off Muthangari Road. It's hidden away in a very cozy neighborhood in Lavington. Its owners are actually Japanese and because of this, the authenticity of the food is usually admirable. You get the full Japanese experience all the way from sitting cross-legged on the floor to the drinks. In actuality, you could choose to sit at a normal table but why would you. The hospitality as soon as we entered was just wow. I actually felt like they were waiting for me the whole time. We ordered several dishes from their menu. Steamed rice -300/=, Pan-fried noodles pork -1100/= , fish teriyaki -850/= , Tuna rolls at 1200/= and the rolled egg which was 500 /=. The amount of pan-fried noodles was so much I couldn't even finish even half of it. Honestly, I'm not really a fan of Japanese food but my partner ended up finishing everything on the table. I found their prices very friendly and they delivered value for your money. To note is that the preparation usually takes quite a while so take that into consideration while you consider dining.

I need a Staycation here.

Radisson Blue Upper Hill is an upscale hotel located in Upper Hill Nairobi. It's mostly used for staycations by most of the people I know. I've also been there a couple of times but all those times I went to attend conferences. The interior is very very pleasing to the eye I assure you. If you want aesthetics ,they've got it. I also appreciate that the staff are really really friendly.Right from the entrance they make it feel like home .I also haven't spent a night here but I know it offers a variety of amenities : gym ,sauna, steam rooms , outdoor pool ,hot tubs ,restuarants as well as bars. It also has several meeting rooms ,well ventilated , spacious and lit .The meeting facilities are actually some of the best. They offer the buffet menu and you get quite a dining experience from it. Another one of my favourite things was that the washrooms were so spotless it's fascinating. I could literally sit there the whole day and not feel out of sorts at all.I dare say they were even cosy haha. The pricing is a bit on the high end and I would advise to check their website first before going there . I also grabbed a couple of drinks from their bar and their cocktails were quite nice .The ambiance was very soothing, perfect for taking a break from the world even for a minute.

I need a Staycation here.

Crowne Plaza is a franchise intercontinental hotel located in Upper Hill Nairobi. It's very chic and the ambiance very serene. I felt like I wasn't in Upper hill anymore for a second there once I entered. It offers conference halls, restaurants that take you through a world-class dining experience, and bars that serve as the perfect spot to unwind a long day. They actually also offer other amenities such as a spa, gym, and pool. It also offers lavish rooms for spending the night. I have never particularly stayed in one but from the recommendations I get, I hear it's quite something. I have been here about 4 times and for all those times I went here to attend a conference. I genuinely love how they perfectly transform the ballrooms to suit whatever event your hosting. I saw the same rooms we held our conference transformed into a wedding venue and I was literally awestruck. Would definitely recommend this for whatever event you want to hold. Their menu for us on all those days was the buffet all you can eat setting and they offer quite a variety. I especially loved their dessert section. There was so much entertainment offered to my sweet tooth I left a happy woman. Their breakfast buffet menu was also alright and they are very accommodating in case the numbers you have slightly exceed what you had estimated: you'd just have to adjust the price you pay.

Pizza ! Pizza and more Pizza.

Oh, wait. There's also Pasta! Pasta and more pasta in 360 degrees pizza. I went to this restaurant last year for Nairobi Restuarant week. They had their pizza, pasta, and fries on the fixed menu. Accompanying it was a glass of wine. I know about two branches, the one in ABC place and one in Rosslyn Riviera mall.I went to the former. 360 degrees is naturally a modern restuarant specialized in serving Neopolitan Pizza. Their pizza menu is quite vast and It leaves a very good impression. They also offer a variety of wine mostly imported and it acts as a perfect accompaniment to down the pizza. As for space, it has an open kind of terrace section and an indoor section. The indoor section doesn't really have much to be amazed about, to be honest. The terrace also doesn't really offer a lot of privacy but it's actually very chill. That's where we chose to sit. I ordered the chicken parmigiana pasta which had: Marinara Spaghetti Nest, Mozzarella Cheese, Grana Padano, and Chives. On the normal menu, the pasta goes for 1100 /=. I also ordered the beef carpaccio pizza which had: Alfredo Marinara, Mozzarella, Bresaola, Arugula, Balsamic Cream, Oregano, and Garlic. On the normal menu, the pizza goes for 1350 /=. Everything we ordered from the menu was perfection. The pasta was so so good easily one of the best I've had. Definitely recommend. I'd give them 4.5/5.

My favourite space in Nairobi.

For starters, when they say happy hour deals they mean Art Caffe and nowhere else. Their happy hour usually runs from 4 pm to 7 pm: you buy one and get the other absolutely free and it's not restricted to the same type of cocktail. This is just but one of my favourite things about this restaurant. The price range for the drinks is usually from the cheapest of about 750shillings going upwards depending on your preference. Art Caffe is a family-style restaurant as well as a coffee shop. The ambiance is very good. Highly recommend for first-time dates and casual hangouts to catch up with your friends. It's also very suitable for a formal meeting. And the food!! I've had several meals here and the pasta is to die for!! Just the right amount of cheese and mushrooms. The chicken wings are also a favourite of mine as well as their meatball sandwich. The portions are great, perfectly filling, and always making you want to go back for more. The flavour in their food is never lacking. I've had coffee here on several mornings when I'm in a rush to school and I absolutely love their breakfast deal for a cup of whichever coffee and a croissant at 350/= only. The menu for all their food and drinks is usually available in their website and you can do a quick go over to make sure you're able to freely enjoy yourself. Finally, there are so so many branches in Nairobi therefore location is never a problem. Definitely rate it 4/5.

Java Love

Java House is a chain of coffee houses with so many branches all around Kenya. It's very cozy and warm. A perfect ideal place for casual meetings as well as official meetings. Pricing for their food is very fair. Portions always leave me full. I enjoy going there for their cold drinks: sundaes, milkshakes as well as their cakes which are my favourite. They have a menu on their website. Coffee usually goes for 170-370 kshs, their legendary java shakes from 420 -460kshs, cakes range from 190 -370kshs, sundaes for around 600kshs, and their full java breakfast goes for 740-820kshs. I have personally never had a full meal here but I once had their loaded fries which is a new addition to the menu and I'm yet to eat better-loaded fries. The cheese was so heavy and the chicken, as well as beef pieces, were added so sparingly I loved it. The loaded fries were about 1000kshs. Rate them at 4/5.

Are you free on Sunday?? Or Monday?? Or Tuesday?? Even on Wednesdays ?? Or rather are you free any day of the week and want to unwind ??K1 clubhouse is the place. This space is amazing I must say. It's located along the road to parklands. Easily accessible right by the road. Booze, food, music, art: K1 has you covered. It's like a trade fair for some of your favourite local brands every other day and it especially comes to life on Sundays. Even though it's livelier on the weekends...it never lets you down on the weekdays. They have a list of scheduled events every week: from open mic, spoken word, acoustic live sessions, and even book club meetings. These serve as perfect first date ideas if you wanna explore art and different forms of expression. Following them on their Instagram page is a perfect way to be in the know of what they have going on. On Sundays, It's always bustling. Hang out with friends as you drink, shop, eat enjoy music all day long. It has a variety of food stalls, restaurants as well as bars so they definitely offer variety. Pricing varies depending on the restuarants but I guarantee the portions and the food are worth it.

Beer ! Beer and more Beer!

Brew Bistro is a restaurant, microbrewery, gastropub, and night club all in one. Grab delicious food during the day and drag the fun all the way through the night and experience the Nairobi nightlife through the lens that is Brew Bistro. It gets full very quickly therefore reservations are an easy way to avoid the hustle. There are two branches one in Westlands, Fortis Tower and the other along Ngong road. They actually even opened a taproom which is absolutely perfect for those who enjoy locally brewed beers. Personally, for me, beers are a no that's why I always go for their cocktails. One of my favourite things in life is happy hour and they have that. Although it's not applicable for all their cocktails, the available deals present will not leave you disappointed. The winners though are those who enjoy beer because for that Brew is definitely the place. Another favourite thing about Brew Bistro is their Bottomless Sunday Brunch. One of my favourite brunch spots because of the variety. There's so much to eat I never want to leave. And you enjoy that with some good music playing enjoying the company of those you love I mean what else could you ask for. The service is relatively fast so ensure you order your food early enough if in a rush. Definitely rate it 4/5.

If your answer is yes to the three then I'd say it's time to say yes to the restaurant. Tapas is a Spanish restaurant now currently having two locations, the first branch in Westgate Mall and the newly opened branch at Riverside. I would highly recommend this restaurant especially to those who have a palate dedicated to Spanish cuisines or those who would love to explore it. Even if you're not I promise you, you will not be disappointed. My favorite deals: because I'm a deals person is every day for only 1350/- enjoy a choice of 3 tapas! Offer is available every day between 10.30 am - 4 pm. The portions are so generous it's surprising. I always get full after the 3 tapas and have to sit it out for a while. Another one of my favourite things is their happy hour, going from 4 pm to 7 pm, buy one get one absolutely free on their cocktails. Open every day from noon to 10 pm. They also offer a very diverse selection of authentic wines..served per glass or perhaps bottle prices ranging depending on the brand. The service is fast and it has a very friendly waiters. Mercado is a Mexican Bar and Kitchen serving authentic and various Mexican delicacies as well as drinks. It is located in Kenrail towers in Westlands. Very easy and convenient to locate. I only have amazing things to say about Mercado because their food and drinks allowed me to go through a whole different culinary experience. Firstly the decor! If you're a fan of beautiful spaces and decor this is the place for you .I went here on a first date and I highly recommend. We decided to go on a cocktails and taco experience with my partner and yes!Absolutely yes! They have happy hour on cocktails and mocktails so buy one get one free from 4pm. We had the strawberry horchata mocktail priced at 850/= and long island cocktail priced at 950/= .We got 4 for the price of 2.We then went on a taco journey and the blending of the flavour was one for the books!! The prices vary. Lowest price at 750/= for the buttered snapper as well as fried avocado taco. The highest at 1150 /= for the fish and chips taco.My favourite of course was the fire grilled chicken taco going for 800. I could literally taste the Mexican herbs. It had so much flavour .They also offered a variety of side sauces which made the experience a whole lot better. Currently running is their crazy bottomless taco offer Thursday's at only 2000/= for vegeterian and 2500 /= for non vegetarian : you really don't ant to miss this .The service was pretty good and food was delivered within 15 minutes .I would rate it at 4/5.

The space was great.

Talisman is an elegant gastrolounge located in Ngong road Karen .Its a fine dining establishment dedicated to offering quality dining experience. It's located in sort of a garden and gives a very homey natural vibe from it's environs. One important thing is visiting talisman especially during the peak hours should be done only after a booking has been made.If not , you'd be really inconvenienced because of waiting in line :most of their tables are usually full.We ordered mimosas which were priced at 1000 shillings. We then ordered food which was relatively pricey in comparison to the portions which were also relatively small.I had to spend alot of money to just get full.If you're a heavy eater I would definitely not recommend it.I also felt the food was somewhat bland. However ,the ambiance made up for it.We sat by the fire on a warm cosy couch and there was so much intimacy offered by the calm surrounding . The dessert that was served was also very sweet just to my liking. Oh and the cheese samosas were also very nice.Very cheesy. I would recommend but remind one that you'd need to spend generously. I would rate it 3.7/5.

Meat Lovers Paradise

Whenever I go to Carnivore I know for sure I'm going to get value for my money. They are really very generous with their servings. It's an open air restuarant located in Langata : a meat lovers paradise. It specializes in meat and all things meat.Their best deal for me which is their commonest is the all you can eat meat buffet :Nyama Choma in particular that's grilled over charcoal .As long as your flag is lifted the meat party will go on for you until you have your fill. The waiters just go around the restuarant with the meat on skewers and serve whoever lifts their flag up.This offer was 3600 /= per person and the menu is usually fully set. There was a vegetarian option for 2950/= per person . I was also impressed with their wide variety .We also ordered cocktails to down the meat. They were about 700- 800 kshs. Dessert also came after and by the time I was done I was so full I couldn't even eat the following day .The Nyama Choma is actually juicy and not chewy at all :quite well done. One other thing I love about Carnivore is their customer service. When I went there it was very full because it's usually common among expatriates but even with the full capacity, the waiters were very friendly and food was served very fast. There are also some shops around where you can buy locally crafted accessories .For meat lovers I'd rate it at 4/5 .But for those who don't like meat I would advise dining elsewhere.

I need a vacation here.

Movenpic Hotel and Residences is a five-star restaurant located in Nairobi Westlands Area. Their edge is their attention to detail. The atmosphere is serene, the views so scenic and yes it's the restaurant that rotates 360 degrees. I mean I look out it's this view, sip my cocktail and I look up again it's a whole other beautiful view like am I in the same restaurant anymore?? I did not spend the night there but trust me it's on the bucket list because they offer a variety of amenities such as a spa, bar, restaurant, pool, and even their ballroom. Instead, I did the next best thing: Bottomless Sunday Brunch. My two favourite words: Bottomless and Brunch. Movenpic absolutely did not disappoint. I paid 4200 for the bottomless brunch from 12:30 to 4 pm at the Baluba restaurant in Movenpic but with the holiday season upon us, it now goes for 3900 only. There was a band playing very chill music not too loud that you can't converse. There's access to the outdoor heated pool. The food and grilling stations around the pool and in the restaurant we're insane!! My favourite was the personalized pasta station and the dessert station. The cold cuts we're also really good and if you're either a chocolate or cheese lover: it's the place to be. I also like that there really was a variety of grilling stations offering different kinds and mouth-watering flavours of the meat. The service was also exceptionally good and fast. Definitely rate it 4.5 /5

I'm definitely doing it again.

If you love meat , highly endowed in flavour: welcome to your paradise . It's a modern restuarant recently opened in Westgate shopping mall. The decor is very aesthetically pleasing and somewhat rustic: absolutely perfect for a first date. It's a restuarant which judging from the name alone majorly focuses on all things meat: steaks, ribs ,burgers you just name it. Personally I'm not usually heavy on meat or rather anything meaty but I still felt some of what we ate was exceptionally done. First we had chicken wings for a starter and my answer in YES! Make sure you try these on your visit. An absolute must. We then ordered the Pork ribs – Kshs 1,400.These pork ribs were amazing . It was well done for me but if you prefer medium or rare you could also get that .The sauce which was a sweet vinegar barbeque sauce made the ribs so tasty I couldn't get enough. But you have to know eating delicious ribs is never pretty and occasionally messy but I still ordered another serving for take away . We also ordered burgers which came with a side of fries.I have to admit the burger was just alright not exactly exceptionally done.We also had mocktails which were around 700 shillings and they were an absolute bliss. Some of the favourite mocktails I've had in Nairobi. Definitely rate it 4/5.
