Our mini China town in Kisumu that prepares authentic chinese cuisine for us.

I had never really tried Chinese food in Kisumu before. I was always a little bit sceptical about the quality and the authenticity of their food. This Chinese restaurant is located in Alimran plaza. It's practically in Kisumu' s central business district and it's not easy to miss it.This plaza has so many stores and shops and if you're here on business this is one of the locations to stop by for pleasure. I had gone here to pay a visit to the Avenue Healthcare facility that is located right opposite it.Once I was done with my doctors appointment I was like this restaurant is here and I'm also here so why not.My inner foodie of course seconded my opinion and at that moment all the scepticism I had evaporated. They have 3 sitting sections. The first one is outside and it's sort of open.It doesn't really offer any privacy if that's what you're going for.It is also a little bit noisy so if you want a calm dining experience maybe you can choose to sit elsewhere .Inside, there is an outside section and inside section that's separated by a spring door.I'm such a huge fan of Chinese costume shows and immediately I entered that's the vibe this place gave me.There were several familiar Chinese ornaments hanging all around and it gave me a whole mini China town feeling.I visited this place during the pandemic period so there were not really many people around...and yay for me! Their menu serves some really authentic Chinese food and once I saw hotpot and tofu I couldn't keep calm.We decided to each have their prawn crackers for starters and each plate was 400/= shillings. For main meals I had their Cantose Sweet and sour pork with green pepper and it was also served with some pineapple. It was 700 shillings for a plate. I really wanted to try their hotpot but I felt like my expectations of hotpot from alot pictures I had seen were too high so I preferred to get it at a well renowned place.Their menu really was extensive and It took me quite a minute just to pick something. They have a bar and they also had really good music going on. Although I was really hoping they'd play some Chinese music, they were playing old school tunes which we also just danced to.If you're in Kisumu and you're looking for a Chinese restaurant I'd recommend this place. The service was also good but the food took quite a while to come which was a little disappointing. They prepare food by the order so it was a little understandable.

Their glittery set up drew me in but their light perfectly baked cake had me sold.

This is bakery that's located in Westend mall. Its a new business and I've never really heard about it in Kisumu till recently. What made me visit this store was how much it was glittering. I was going about running my daily errands in the Westend and when I passed some corner I just saw some shimmering pink store with beautiful cakes that were put on display. The display cakes alone were so beautiful and you could see that there was so much attention to detail. When I entered I wasn't really planning to buy anything but the staff were so friendly I ended up grabbing a piece of cake. This shop offers a variety of cake for a variety of occasions. Some of the occasions include:birthdays, wedding, graduation and general themed cakes. The pricing of this occasion cakes depend totally on the type, the size and any extra specifications. They showed me a sample of their wedding cake and lemme just say I know where I will be getting my wedding cake. They also have different flavors. The special cakes are what I found very interesting. They include the oreo cake,Ferraro rocher and their Kit Kat cake. I didn't get to order anything from their specialty menu but I grabbed a mint cake. It was a simple slice of this fresh cream cake and it was only 250/=. The slice is tiny and not necessarily filling so it just makes a good snack. It was light ,creamy and not very sugary. I'd have honestly wanted more sugar cause I have a sweet tooth but the way everything was proportioned appeased me. The service was fast and the woman who served me the cake made me want to go back for more. They don't have a space where you can sit so most of their cakes are on a touch and go basis.

I only buy my sunscreen from this store.A hub for authentic cosmetic and personal care products

GoodLife has several branches all over the country. It's a store that functions as a multi purpose shopping destination. They have a wide assortment of necessities and there are so many products that I buy from here. I mostly visit this store to buy from their skincare range. They have some top and famous brands and most of their products are very authentic. Some of the top brands I've seen here are AA cosmetics and Revlon. For me when it comes to this store, most of my needs are related to sunscreen. I was recommended here by a friend after she bought one of the products and it worked really well for her. She could visibly notice the advantages of wearing sunscreen and after around six months she was completely on board. The last time I visited this place was after the La Roche-posay skin products were officially launched in Kenya. I had seen their range all the way from varying SPF's with one of their products even being up to SPF 60. They also had a sunscreen that was perfectly tailored for children and I felt like this gives them quite an edge. This sunscreen also doubles as a moisturizer and it's hypoallergenic and perfect for sensitive skin. It's also full coverage and it cost me only 2315/=. They have cheaper brands of sunscreen going for as low as 1600/= but I went for La Roche-posay because I wanted to try it out. I've only used it for a month and I find that it's such a good sunscreen. It doesn't leave your skin looking white and flaky. They also have drugs and medicine on store but I've never really bought anything medical from them.

Flash drycleaners get your suits looking all flashy at an affordable price.

This is a local business in Kisumu. It's located in Mega Plaza. They provide laundry services and consistent care to your clothes at a very affordable price. I like using their services because of how careful they are when handling your clothes. Once you take your clothes here ,you can sit rest assured that the services are going to be delivered A1. Straight from the moment your clothing arrives to when you collect it everything is done professionally and with care. They package all of your outfits in eco bags and their Flash Drycleaners reusable bags are 100/=. My dad uses their laundry and dry cleaning services. They have also done steaming, pressing and stain removal for him. When picking up your clothes they give it to you on a hanger and they have an option where you get press pads and this is just to offer more protection. They have three categories of services they offer and these are: special, deluxe and the ordinary. Deluxe and special are of course more expensive because the handling is way better. They also have mini additions to the whole package once you upgrade it and it comes with other services such as repair. Normally we go for the deluxe which is 1050 /= if you take your outfit on their working day you can pick it on the same day after several hours. Once in a while I use the regular package and that one is charged at 780/=. Their range of services in regards to laundry is so extensive and I just haven't haven't tried them all but as long as you make an inquiry I'm sure they would have whatever you need. They also leave your clothes smelling fresh and properly ironed. If you need Laundry services around Kisumu's CBD then this is the place to go.

Perfect shopping experience in Kisumu's CBD with incredible stores and restuarants.

This is a recently opened mall in Kisumu county. It's located along Achieng-Aneko road and is one of the best overall shopping destinations in Kisumu. If you're re new to Kisumu and are also looking for somewhere to just take casual walk this is also a nice place. Compared to other malls, it's slightly small but it's still alright. It's located next to the luxurious Acacia hotel and they have a direct connection where you can easily slip in from Westend to Acacia if you want to grab something to eat. It genuinely houses some of my very favorite stores and restaurant. Right from the entrance you are welcomed by a tiny craft market that's located at the gate. It houses a variety of locally crafted artifacts and these are perfect for someone who wants to collect a souvenir. They have a Java that's large with an outdoor sitting space .It serves as a perfect location to grab a quick snack when visiting. It has Kenya Airways and Jambojet offices so if you want to make a quick enquiry or get a ticket you can visit this mall. Another favorite store of mine located on the same floor as Java is their Wine Shop. This place is fully stocked with such a wide variety of alcohol and whatever you need they definitely have it. They have wines, spirits, whiskeys, gin and even an assortment of chocolate. They also house Chandarana foods which is an ideal destination for someone who wants to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables. Chandarana also has a wide variety of spices so if you want to get some from Kisumu this is the place.Bhavniks cakes is a bakery that's located here and it has some of the best cakes for different occasions. This place is clean and it's usually rarely flooded with people. It doesn't have a food court or somewhere to just sit when you are not shopping or visiting a restaurant. That's the only disadvantage everything else is A1.

Qualified optometrist who take care of all your eye needs

Baus is a business that prides itself in offering some of the best optical care in Kenya. Normally I go to Optica to get my glasses because that was the first store is went to get my glasses from. The first day I visited Baus I had gone to Optica and found that the place was really full so is wanted to go to another branch but right down the street I saw Baus. I'd never used it but it looked pretty clean and quiet so I was like why not. When I entered I was told to sit at the waiting area and after about three minutes I was called up the person who was attending to me asked what was the reason for my visit. I told them that I wanted to replace my glasses and they directed me from there. They usually offer free computerized eye checks for all those who want new lenses and I was then instructed which room to go to. When I entered I was welcomed by a very friendly optometrist. He gave me hand sanitizer and instructed me to sit .Before that he asked me several questions about my history regarding my eyesight and my general health. He then took my details and started examining me. We went through several tests and he was very professional and patient he kept asking me all the intricate details and the process went smoothly. I was then referred to the front desk where I went to pick from their large selection of frames. They didn't really have the frame I wanted but they told me to wait for around ten minutes before they went and bought a whole other batch for me to pick from. The staff here were very helpful and they took me through all the available options before I settled down on one. My lenses were 6000/= and my frames were 9000/=. I had come to the shop around 11:00am and by 2:30pm my glasses were ready. Very efficient service if you ask me. The lenses were perfectly fit and the frames look extraordinary.

This store is most famous for its shoes all around the country. Most of its branches are located in Nairobi but they recently opened a pretty little branch in Mega Plaza Kisumu. When you enter Mega Plaza, you walk a little ahead then take a left and just on the same floor you will be able to spot them. When you enter this store, the aesthetics of the whole place are very impressive. First of all the place is huge and so spacious with several racks suspended at the edges where the shoes and all the accessories being sold are placed. The middle part is opened and a small number of bags have been placed with several sparsely positioned seats. In Kisumu I feel like this is one of the most aesthetically pleasing shops. When we entered we found two attendants. One was at the front desk and the other one was walking around with us helping us choose whatever we wanted. My sister was going back to school and we needed a specific colored shoe. They have a form restriction where their class can only wear green and after checking several Bata stores we couldn't find any. They were either the wrong color or size. At first we also couldn't find the shoe from Citywalk so they had to make several other calls. After sometime our savior finally stepped in holding a green pair of shoes and we were just so relieved. While we were waiting we were walking around .I just checked what they had and we saw quite a variety of things from school bags, travel bags, baby shoes, designer handbags, male sandals and belts. The shoe they brought was the right size though it was little lighter than the colors we were going for it still worked perfectly. It was a little pricey compared to stores like Bata. It cost us 3200/= I like how the attendants were really helpful and how they were so proactive in getting us what we actually needed. They also had nice heels although what they displayed didn't really have a lot of variety. This Citywalk is located in a business center so you can visit this place and run several errands at the same time.

The Wine Shop is a winery and liquor store found in Kisumu. It is located in the lively and popular Westend mall. It's just as recent as the mall which became fully operational only a few years back. It's found on the first floor right next to Java and Woolworths. This place is such a beauty, I know it should just be a place I buy wine and go ahead to mind my business but the way everything has been positioned just works. On entry to the left there is a nice cute section that has chocolate and to the opposite their is the counter. Every other space is occupied by alcohol and more alcohol. There is room for navigation so the place doesn't get cramped up when there is a lot of people. They sell a variety ranging from wine, gin, whiskey, rum, beer and even some spirits. Apart from the alcoholic drinks they also sell energy drinks, del monte and bottled water. They have a mixture of both local and imported wines so you just make you choice based on what you want. There is no price tag on their products so whichever alcohol you pick you have to shout at the front desk to find out the exact price which if I'm being honest was quite strenuous. There were two attendants present and one was helping us with the selection while the other was checking the price. They were friendly and helpful. I bought a bottle of 750ml Smirnoff triple distilled vodka. We also bought Del monte and other soft drinks .

Personally I'm a lover of aesthetics. I'm not very particular about many things but when it comes to aesthetics, this is a concept that's close to my heart. Quickmart has several branches in the country, some small, some large. Not all have this aesthetic quality but those that do take it home. What attracts me the most is their cute little Quickmart truck .The ones I've seen are red and tiny and on top of them they usually place such a huge amount of brightly colored fruits. Their groceries look so fresh and so full of life the whole place becomes very colorful. They are all so healthy and it's probably why I love to shop here. Their groceries are charged per Kilogram and all you have to do is select then take them so that they can get weighed for you. My next favorite spot is their hotel deli and their bakery. The food is always so enticing. Their chapati's are so large. Some people complain they are thin but that's how I like mine so I never really mind. Their pancakes are equally thin which again just how I like them. They have a bakery and with an assortment but sometimes their cakes are not well done. Their butchery sells a variety of meat which is always fresh. I commonly buy their meatballs and burger patties for my kitchen. Their marinated chicken wings are honestly a flop and all that they coat the drumsticks with is plain turmeric. They have a mini granary that stocks up on different cereals. Their honey tap allows you to buy some of their fresh and sometimes even ginger flavored honey. This are just my favorite spots in this supermarkets and I've not given justice to all the other sections. It's a very wholesome supermarket where all your household needs are met.

Kisumu hotel is located in Kisumu CBD. It's an easy to access hotel and it's right next to Maseno University. It's also next to the new Acacia Premiere hotel and Westend mall. Most of the people who go to this place go for accommodation here for a night or two or even longer. I went here to grab some drinks with some friends while we were passing by to go to Takawiri island. From the entrance the place is simple. The furniture and the interior of the building before I went to the actual front desk had very casual looking seats and there is nothing out of the ordinary about how it looks .It was a little bit disappointing. We went to their terrace bar which is right next to the road.It was a little noisy because of all the cars that were passing and having a conversation at times was difficult. The terrace opens at 11am and closes at 12am.We first ordered some quick bites before drinking and we had fries and a sausage. The total of that was 350/=.What made me quite happy was the fact that their house wine per glass was very cheap and one was going for 250/=.This was quite affordable and I think I had about 5 glasses or more .By the time we were going back to our rooms I could barely tell right from left.Their shots at the bar were 200 and 150 depending on what you were drinking. We also had their stewed local chicken that was served with a side of rice. This was 750/=.They also have quick bites so if you're in town and looking for somewhere to grab lunch this is the place. The food was just alright and tasty. This place in general is very simple and in terms of aesthetics they didn't really do much for me.Their service was great and our food was served on time.

Valentine cake house is a bakery that is committed to offering its clients with some perfectly baked cake with wonderful texture and notable freshness. It's one of the stores that has grown and established so many branches around the country. In Kisumu their branch is located in Mega Plaza. Mega Plaza is a business center that offers some of the best product vendors and service providers. This cake house is found on the first floor. To be honest it's more of a kiosk because all they have is a stand that displays their cakes. They probably already worked it out and figured that they wouldn't need so much effort because of how gorgeous and attractive their cakes already are. They display all of the cakes that they are serving and you can be able to survey what you'd want to eat. I've been here twice, the first time I was ordering a cake for someone's birthday and the second time I just passed by and decided to grab a snack. The birthday cake was two storey and we were charged 5800/= it was tasty and it had a wonderful texture .I did not feel like anything was rushed. As for the piece of cake, I grabbed a slice of red velvet on one casual morning. They go for around 250/=. The cake was so spongy and even the icing tasted so good I couldn't help myself. I ordered one but as soon as I walked past for quite a distance I ended running back to grab the second one. This place is quite small and there is no available dining section so all of their products have to be take away.

A nice getaway from the hustle of Kisumu City.

This place is a nice location to chill and unwind away from all the hustle and bustle that is in Kisumu town.It is about 30 minutes from Kisumu's CBD and to get here you can either use private or public means. When using public you take a matatu from a stage next to Kisumu boys High school going to Bonďo and you tell them you're alighting he're.The cost is usually 100 shillings but sometimes it can get to 150/=.The place is a little off the road so if you're walking it would take you about 15 minutes. The road is not properly constructed so you have to be careful when you go with your car. This is one of my favourite locals when I go to visit my grandparents. It's only a few minutes from home and if I want somewhere to relax I go here. This place is a nice little garden resort that has several amenities and really does well for itself. It has ample parking space .There is some outdoor sitting space , an indoor dining area if that's what you want,a poolside dining area as well as a bar.I personally prefer either to sit in the outdoor garden or by the pool as I enjoy a drink or two. During the holidays, this place gets ridiculously full and if you want to eat here I would really not advise you to.One day we waited a whole 3 hours for our food and we only saw our waiter once even the drinks alone took an hour. This may be true for the holidays but on all other days the service is pretty fast. The meals we always have here with my family is their Kienyeji chicken that's been wet fried and it comes with a side of ugali and some vegetables. They bring 4 plates of ugali but if you want more you have to pay extra. One full chicken is 1500 /= .It's usually very well done and for a local they don't really disappoint. The food has flavour and the servings of the sides is quite filling. The pool is also clean and their bar is always operational so you can drop by and grab a bear or two. They also have a kids section where children can go and play games .This makes it such a family friendly place. They also recently started constructing modern accommodation complexes which already look good from they way everything is being set up. This place is a nice stop over when traveling using this Kisumu- Bondo route.

Highway stop over with affordable liquor and beautiful scenery

This is a newly opened local resort along the Kisumu-Bondo route. It takes you about 40 minutes using public means of transport to get here from Kisumu's CBD. It's right by the road so there's not much hustle in getting here. A matatu would cost about 200 shillings from town. This resort has just opened up it's bar and restaurant a few months ago but the accommodation and other services are yet to be completed. It is situated in a location that is filled with so many huge beautiful rocks similar to the one's that are found in Kit Mikai. Kit Mikai is one of the local tourist attractions in Kombewa town and has been a very common tourist attraction for several years now. It's basically huge rocks beautiful placed giving such a wonderful view. This concept is the same with what's seen in Tina Resort. In entry what welcomes you is some shade structures that are basically where everyone sits. The have no indoor sitting space as of now. They have some animal theme going around where sculptures of the big five are placed all around. Personally I just found if funny but the children around really seemed to enjoy playing with them. What I love about this place is how their drinks are so affordable. If you're looking for somewhere to grab a beer or two with some friends this is the place.Their alcohol rates are the typical rates at a liquor store and it's like they offer a free place to sit and grab a drink. Their beers are 250kshs and a bottle of Sminorff Vodka costs us 750/=.We also ordered food which I'm not particularly a fan of but the people I was with seemed to enjoy. It's just local chicken that's been fried and served with a side of ugali. It's a very affordable place and for a meal of about 7 people together with drinks we only spent a total of 4000/=.This is one of my local joints whenever I'm in my shagz and we go here with my cousins to just relax. Their service is pretty fast and food is prepared on attendance basis. So when your arrive is when everything starts .A nice local joint to pass through especially for their drinks with your people.

This is a store that is located in Kisumu next to Black berry .The whole area is filled with business that are dealers in the same industry .This is mostly textiles and clothing .I went to Nyanza Woollen to buy school supplies for myself and also to get one or two additions to my school uniform. When I arrived this place was actually pretty full .There was so much happening everywhere .It was probably because it was the season where all students were going back to school. Immediately I arrived ,an attendant came to serve me.It was very impressive considering the number of people who were there. I wanted to purchase plain white t-shirts and also buy knitting thread for my sister who was doing home science. These people from my impression sell mostly textiles and all things clothing. I could also see a display of different materials especially the brands used in making school uniforms. The place is pretty simple with more of an open huge room format with elevated desks all around. The man who was attending to me quickly brought what I needed over. The thread was just thread and I like that they had a variety. I wanted around 10 colours and they had them all so I did not have to go around different stores looking for the same thing. I also bought socks for school which were as long as I wanted and the material was pretty good. They were just 150/= per pair. I also wanted to buy plain white shirts but from what they showed me I did not like the quality. Although they had a variety of sizes, the white shirts that I wanted were so translucent and could not be worn plainly so I never bought them. Even with the place being full I didn't wait for long and after just a few minutes I had done everything and was on my way out. If you're looking for a shop dealing with textiles in Kisumu then this shop is a place to go.

This is a local business located in Kisumu. I've only dealt with them in school supplies in general. It is located in Kisumu's business center along the Oginga Odinga Road. This place is fully populated with such business and Nyanza Laboratory stands out because it's one of the longest standing business I know in Kisumu. When I was small I remember we used to visit this place with my parents to get some of my supplies for school. When I visited here last I took my small sister here for some of her errands. We wanted to buy some sports attire and t-shirts .I had actually been going round this whole place trying to get t-shirts the whole of that morning.I had actually hoped their quality in regards to that would be better. This is a simple store. It's pretty small and also can imagine on days when it gets crowded how uncomfortable it can be.I was attended to by a lovely woman. She was quite friendly and properly dealt with us showing us what they had in store. We bought two shirts and each went for 700 shillings. The quality of the material was good and the colours were perfect. They had a problem with sizes and not all were available so we could only pick one size and go elsewhere for the other. We wanted to order shirts and when she brought what they had I experienced the same problem I got from most stores here.Their material are too light and see through. The store looked quite empty but I guess they have their hidden stock somewhere haha.

When I was young,Kisumu didn't really have any malls by then.Swan Centre was the only place that was bustling with life enough and I decided to make it my mall.We used to come and hang around with my friends as well pass time.It is located along Oginga Odinga road. Now I probably know that this place is more of a business centre and nowhere close to a mall. It's a simple complex that houses several business and restaurants. The architecture and structure is simple, not really much going around but at the centre you can see the top floors each decorated with a flower pot or two and when they all assemble they make the whole view nice. From the main entrance what welcomes you is a fast food restaurants that serves some simple delicious food. The aroma of fries is usually so evident when you pass by here. It's a place for a touch and go meal and does not really offer alot in terms of ambiance and privacy .Swan Centre is home to Sumo Electronics and Cyber Cafe. This store deals in laptops, desktops, Printers and storage devices. It also offers services such as printing and photocopying .It also has a Just for your shop that deals in electronics especially those related to mobile phones. Another store here is Kisumu Lighting and decor. My favourite store in this place of course has to be Ideal world limited. It specialises in selling all your home supplies and the fixtures you'd need to give life and colour to your house. On the day I last visited this place was pretty empty. There were very few people around and most of the stores had not been opened .In comparison, this place has fewer business compared to other centres .Despite that,it still houses stores that provide some much needed services to people in Kisumu's business center.

This is a store that is located along Oginga Odinga Road. It is part of the stores that are found in Swan Centre. It is a general stores that handles all things housing and decor. They have a wide range of products ranging from beddings ,clocks ,lighting fixtures as well towels. The list is actually quite long that is just the few things that I spotted here.At the entrance there is a nice little craft stand. It is not part of ideal world but it's a nice addition to your shopping experience because you can buy one or two things as souvenirs. I also saw they had displayed some cute pink fur mats. They were looking so good I was so tempted but that's not what I had intended to buy so all I could do was walk away from such a beauty. My heart hurt. They also had mirrors, pillows, some nice curtains and paintings that were displayed. I was going around this place just one day casually visiting Swan Centre and what attracted me to this place was a very beautiful wall clock that they had displayed. It was golden and brown in colour. It had the pattern of a peacock and the beautiful feathers and colours made it such an attractive piece. The vision of it as an accessory on my white wall background had me sold.It was priced at 5500 shillings and this was a fixed price. It was so shiny and it kept glittering the whole time. They had several other clocks but none were really as extra as that one. After we settled on the clock we then went around just window shopping at the store. It has two floors and the lower one is a little squeezed. We did not go upstairs so I can't really talk about it.The attendants were very professional and friendly. They were helpful and packaged what I bought well.I had a nice shopping experience with them.

It's a pretty simple structure with simpler decor .It's clean and spacious. It's quite small compared to other malls I've been to but I like that all the times I've visited it's not been crowded. It has a cosy little food court that has a bakery called cake and crust. This is a cake shop that serves some really good cake.It also had national Bank and a baby shop store that as of now has not been opened. Because it's a relatively new place some of the stalls are empty especially on the upper most floors and if you're looking for places to rent them this is an option. The location is also good for business because it's directly in the CBD and easy to access. It also has a wine shop which sells a variety of wines and spirits. It doesn't really have any recreational activities and the most you can do is grab a meal at one of their restaurants. Other than that I feel like this place is more of business than pleasure. Offering access to really good stores.

Beautiful interiors with a beautiful green exterior.

This is a beautiful space that is located in Westlands. It's not very far from Nairobi's CBD and to get here without traffic would take you around 30 minutes. I'm such a fun of eat out and all their festivals so when I heard they would be hosting a brunch at this place ,it was just a matter of getting my ticket. Immediately I entered what welcomes me was how green and how lustrous the whole place is.The grass is so beautifully manicured and it adds a whole natural vibe to the place. There are nice little cute office spaces where you can visit if you need somewhere to get your work done in a place that is peaceful and calm. We did not sit inside the office spaces but instead eat out did a whole nice set up in one of their gardens. It was an all you can eat branch so there were several stations that were serving a variety of food. There were also many vendors who came by .They set up tents all over the place. There was also a kid section where those people who came with their families could drop their kids off to enjoy themselves. This place was an absolutely perfect choice of location. The way it was so green plus how secluded the place is made the whole experience quite something. It was just a whole affair that was happening in their wide expanse of green land.I have never particularly used their offices spaces so I can not really tell but what I can recommend it for us if you want to have an event. It's quite large so I'm sure whatever your numbers are you'd probably be able to fit.The vibe it gave was for holding numbers that are a little intimate so maybe too many people will take away the pleasure. Otherwise absolutely loved it.

Great food with a greater landscape view of the lake.

Roan Garden is a recently opened restaurant in Kisumu. The owners of this beautiful garden restaurant are the same one's who owned the Roan Rooftop. It is located in Milimani.I absolutely love this place and it was a really good addition to the restaurant culture in Kisumu.I first visited their branch next to Imperial hotel for their Wine Festival and that's how I fell in love with them.We paid 2000/= for the wine festival and what they had on offer was unlimited wine and access to a variety of their sea food platters. The manager of this place is the nicest person ever and he's so professional serving some of the best food and cocktails in Kisumu.Personally I love their food.Particularly their sea food.I occasionally go here on the weekends with my friends to just relax and unwind. Most of the times we target their variety of pizza deals that are always there on some days .You buy one and get the other absolutely free.Their bar has a wide selection of the best wines and cocktails .At night, the place gets really full of life .They play really good music and when that is combined with their beautiful well done cocktails it's just a vibe!If you're looking for a quiet dine in here it's better if you visit this place during the day because sometimes it gets loud at night. It sometimes also gets really full. One time we visited here at night and we couldn't even find a place to sit.I feel like their seafood platters are such a selling point for this place because not many restaurants in Kisumu have such a wide selection of freshly made sea food. They have lobsters and squid .You also get access to a nice view of Lake Victoria and this just adds to the nice experience I had here.Their food is quite affordable and their prices range is good.If you're in Kisumu this is a must visit location.

An absolutely serene mood made ten times better with glorious cocktails

This is a nice little four star hotel located in Westlands Nairobi .It is only a few minutes from Nairobi’s CBD so it’s easy to access in a few minutes by a car.I went to this hotel for an official meeting with a couple of my colleagues.I was doing a little part time job and we had chosen this place to have lunch. This place is mostly known for their accommodation services which are some of the best in Nairobi. We actually had our meals at the Tulip restaurant then we later went to sit at the rooftop restaurant that had a very beautiful view of the pool. On that day the office had fully funded our meal and we ordered our meals from their buffet menu and not the usual A’ la carte one.I had some beef, mashed potatoes ,lamb and vegetables from display.I also had dessert and what I picked was just different cakes.I do not particularly remember how much we spent as a group but when I glanced at the menu I felt like their prices are just slightly on the higher side. The food was also just fairly done. The taste was present but there was really nothing that stuck with me .The only thing to write home about was the ambiance that the whole place delivered especially from the rooftop.I also liked their cocktails and I felt like they hit right home. Their mixologist also contributed a lot to making my experience very memorable. He was so full of life and I can’t particularly remember his name because of how much the cocktails had hit but he was definitely the bomb. The service was also good and the food did not take a long time to get set up.The waiters were friendly and professional. They handled our whole group with so much care and with that to consider I’d definitely give them an A plus.

All inclusive shopping experience with a good range of lustrous groceries.

When Chandarana food plus was opened in West end mall I was like YES!I had only used this store in Nairobi and I was like Kisumu also deserves good things. This supermarket is a favourite of mine because of how on almost all the days it is stocked with fresh fruits and vegetables. There are a variety of products and the store has such an assortment even including spices and condiments. Some branches are relatively small compared to others like for instance the one in West end is smaller than the one’s in Nairobi.Even though it is smaller it is still spacious and quite easy to navigate.Their shelves are neatly arranged and right from the entrance you are welcomed by a large display of the assortment of products. The different categories cater for different eating tastes and preferences .They frequently have discounts on their products and if you stop by you get to enjoy the deals.A shopping experience where you get to shop for more for less. They also have a mini restaurant at bay.I have never really ordered anything from here so I can’t really tell or say anything about it.Their customer care is at per and the staff are also quite friendly.I know when shopping you don’t necessarily look for ambiance but incase you ever do ,this place delivers.I would recommend that when going for grocery shopping from Chandarana the best days to go is on Saturday and on Wednesdays. They do a restock of their fresh goods on this day and as the life rule says : The fresher the better. They also have cakes and some freshly baked pastries so if you like baked goods this is a place you can grab some. A memorable mention of course has to be their spice selection. They have some range I promise.Any spice you need ,they’ve got it I can guarantee.

Quick affordable means of transport but after the journey woe unto my long legs.

Mololine is a very prominent transport company in Kenya.I have used their services severally and mostly is when I’m ravelling from Nairobi to Kisumu. They have easily accessible bus stages with the one in Nairobi being next to Odeon and the one in Kisumu being next to this location called Stage.Their prices on a normal day are usually very affordable. They used to be 1000/= before the pandemic for a one way trip either to or from Nairobi. With the new restrictions in regards to the number of people one car can carry due to the COVID pandemic, the price is about 1500/=.What I genuinely don’t like about this nissan is that their prices can sometimes get hiked even up to 100%.This frequently occurs during the festive season .When planning to travel using Mololine I would advise making prior inquiries about the current going price to avoid getting stranded and disadvantaged.Their seats are okay. Not very comfortable and not too badly off.If you are tall there is only so much leg room available and the journey may be otherwise strenuous for you.Another thing is that they do not have a constant departure time.Unlike travel companies with a fixed departure time like Easy Coach,Mololine leaves when the vehicle gets full.If you have an important engagement that is particularly time conscious ,either pick another means of transport or go very early to avoid the hustle. An average trip from Nairobi to Kisumu with this nissan usually takes about 6-7 hours. You make two stops along the way so you can get to use the washrooms and grab something to eat along the way if you get hungry. The journey is smooth and the drivers are always careful. You book your seats upon arrival on a first come first serve basis so like I said the earlier the better.Overally, their services are good and they make an affordable traveling option if you do not mind spending several hours sitting on the road.

This hotel is located in Juja city mall.It a cosy 3 star hotel that offers accommodation , restaurant and bar among many of it’s services.I went here early in 2020.There was a conference that was being hosted by Kenyatta University for international students and I was part of the organising committee. We were looking for a relatively affordable hotel to offer an accommodation package for those who were visiting and Maxland was recommended to Us.The main thing about it that attracted us was the proximity it had to the venue and they would not have to travel so much in the morning. After asserting we went to visit the location and talk to the manager to get the rates. On arrival ,we were welcomed so well and the manager was so accomodating. We were given such an affordable package that was simply bed, breakfast and dinner all for the price of 4500/= per night for each visistor. This price gets relatively higher but it was lowered for us because we had a large number of people who were staying there for accomodation. The price quoted was for a twin bed single room sharing. The price was slightly higher for an executive room. The rooms were huge and spacious and most of them had a balcony .They were very clean and the decor was simple and elegant. There is no room service and dining has to be done in the main dining area for all their meals. They also had a pool and a bar.The pool was unexpectedly huge and it was maintained so well. They also had this huge children's playground that had a merry go round and so many other things it was practically a whole amusement park. They were offering conferencing services but since we already had a venue we did not go for it.We were however shown the rooms and the place had different rooms of varying sizes depending on the number of people who would be attending the meeting. On one night we had a themed dinner party and the staff were so cooperative with putting up the appropriate decorations.Even the food prepared was so varied and tasty. For an affordable and comfortable hotel offering value for your money in Juja, this place makes the top of my list.

Moyo wangu hupata furaha kila wakati.Great masala fries and chicken .

Oh Moyo’s ! My little fast food haven.Moyo’s is a fast food restaurant that is located in Kahawa Sukari.Kahawa Sukari is located along Thika Super Highway and is about 30 minutes from Nairobi’s CBD.On a busy day with traffic it would take about an hour or even more.My staple food here is and has always been Masala Fries and their chicken. The Masala fries are usually 120/= while their chicken is 150/=.I always buy the quarter chicken because I’m generally not a fan of grilled chicken so if you are buying a larger piece it would definitely be more. The fries are soft, non oily and the masala fries on some days very well done. The chicken in just grilled plainly and there is little to no spice added to it but I feel like it does'nt really take anything away from the food. This type of plain chicken is a usual scene in fast food restaurants and it’s even gathered a name in the Kenyan Market as Chicken Mwitu. Moyo’s usually operates for 24 hours and it always serves as the perfect stop in the morning after a night filled with fun and shenanigans. The only thing this open all day problem poses is the fact that in the early hours of the morning some of their food is never that fresh. This especially applies to the fries. You don’t necesarrily get a stomach ache or an unusual flavour from the food .It’s just that freshly made fries have this whole ring to them that’s just different and better. The chicken always tastes fresh whatever time I buy it .I’ve gone here an impressive number of times and just noted I’ve never really bought anything else.I guess all I’m trying to say is that incase it’s your first time dropping by try their Masala fries and chicken.I promise you will not be disappointed with this quick touch and go meal.Their service is also good and the food takes a maximum of twenty minutes to get ready. They also have ample sitting space with hygienic surroundings if you are going for some in house dining.

Only God knows how much their spicy wings and lasagna bless my life.

What brings me back to this supermarket is their lasagna, their chicken wings and their liquor store. The Shoprite in Garden City is the supermarket I frequent mostly and they’ve earned it.On entry ,the first thing that welcomes me every time I come here is their fresh and brightly coloured vegetables and fruits. The temperature in that section is usually very cool and sometimes even when I,m not buying fruits I go to catch a breeze and just adore all their colours. This supermarket is very clean and all the products are arranged nicely and neatly in separate aisles. They are systematically sorted out to make work easier for you and when you need something you just go to the specific section and take a look. Before you get to the food section which is my favourite, you pass the frozen section where you get to buy such a wide selection of foods. What I note mostly is that there is usually so much fresh sea food and if you are residing along Thika road or even just visiting I would recommend you check out whatever you want from here. They also have several other types of meat and I’m sure you would not leave this supermarket empty handed.Once you pass here you drop by the food section which of course is my absolute favourite. The smell alone is a trap.On several occasions when I’m just doing some simple shopping the I just find myself here out of the blues. How did I get here?I absolutely do not know but the aroma probably saw what happened in detail.Their wings are some of the cheapest food options in garden city mall. They charge the food using a per weight system and for around 200 shillings I get around 7 very juicy and spicy wings.Their Lasagna is also charged per kilogram and this one is a must have snack for me when I visit garden city. The staff here have my partial approval. Some are of great assistance guiding me whenever I need something but then there is the other group. The other group always refuses to give me more than one packet of ketch up when I buy food and to me that does not sit well. They also normally have a well stocked liquor store but the last time I was here I was a little dissapointed. Some of my favourite wine brands were missing.I attributed this to the pandemic lockdown because it was the first time I had seen this.Definitely one of my top supermarkets otherwise.

One of the most convenient stores ever.Such a major part of my closet

This chain store is one of the leading footwear suppliers in the country.I have known Bata for the longest time ever and I frequently go here to make all my shoe purchases. For me what they have done over the years to completely loop me in is the fact that they sell really durable shoes. Some of the materials they use is top notch and this ensures that the products they deliver are of some of the highest quality.I wear really large shoes because I’m very tall and most of the times it gets very difficult for me to get shoes that fit well. There are not many stores that are well proficient in producing shoes especially women’s shoes that cater for those who have slightly large feet.Bata has at least tried. They are not completely invested in this sector but the fact that I easily get one or two shoes that comfortably fit me on a daily basis is a good sign.My favourite brand from their vast shoe selection of course has to be the tommys. They have some of the most comfortable canvas shoes I have ever seen. The shoes are also very versatile and I get to wear them for a variety of occasions and I don’t look out of place. On most of my selections the tommy's are usually around 1500/=.Quite affordable if you ask me.Their durability is also a plus and I get to wear them for quite a while before I see some tear.Bata also has some really good leather shoes. They use world class leather when making their products and this again highly gets expressed in the quality they bring to their customers. The customer service here is very good. The staff help you choose and try out each shoe and make sure it perfectly fits you before you make a purchase. They also give you appropriate recommendations in regards to when the next stock of a certain shoe will be coming .If you miss it and they even remind you. Overally, bata delivers durability and affordability all in one.The only thing I hope they would work on is to expand their shoe size especially when it comes to the women’s section.

Miniso,.my dear Miniso! I’m very fond of this store. This is a Japanese low cost retailer and variety chain store .This store is such a ruse on it’s own and the fact that it exists is one of the devices and schemes sent by the universe to rob me.The first time Miniso opened their first branch in Kenya I think was just a few years back and the fact that everyone I knew was talking about it was a clear indication that I had to visit this place.Their first branch I ever visited was the one in Thika Road mall.I entered and from the door I could already feel the temptation. The store has everything you need from digital to household items. It has cosmetics, stationery, toys and even kitchen ware. The store is so clean and their products are systematically shelved. It’s relatively huge in comparison to the number of products that it has.I entered and I kept touching everything because everything literally looked like something I could use.Their motto for everything you never knew you needed really is true.Left right centre I wanted it all.The first thing that attracted me was their absolutely gorgeous bags. They are so tiny and convenient I absolutely fell in love. There was this one particular black bagpack that that was simple, elegant and classy.A perfect addition to my closet.Another thing that set them aside was how affordable they were .I literally bought three bags and did not feel the strain at all.None of the small bags cost more than 1000/= . They also have some notebooks which are also very cheap and are among the things from this store that I would recommend.Their officially licenced toys are also a stunner. They have these really huge dolls and they are so soft and they make a perfect gift in my opinion.I like to remind people that if anyone is looking for something cute to get me at any time then these stuffed animals are a yes from me.Their customer service to me was very good and the staff help you whenever you are having any trouble in the store.

Oh my little cute cafe.

This is one of my very favourite restaurants. It is my go to place every single time.Wanna grab a cocktail with some friends?Art Caffe.Wanna have an official meeting with some colleagues?Art Caffe it is.Wanna grab a touch and go meal or just casually treat yourself?Art caffe is again the perfect place. This restaurant is very simple and sophisticated. The decor is usually very elegant and welcoming. The ambiance very calm and soothing making it a perfect restaurant to calmly chill and relax.I have visited a lot of their branches all around Nairobi.I have not really heard of branches in Kisumu or in Mombasa which to me is very dissapointing.Their cocktails are just pure bliss.Their long island that goes for 950 shillings is one of my favourite. One sip and I’m on an irreversible journey of making wrong choices. It has just the right amount of vodka in it and after a rough day I always grab me a long island.their branch along Kenyatta Avenue is my new favourite. If you want ambience and beauty…this is the branch. There was a little extra sophistication that’s been added that I have not noticed in the other Art Caffe Branches. My latest visit to this Westminster branch was to grab Coffee with my family. My sister had just come back to the country and we made an immediate pit stop here before even going back home. What had me sent here was their Chocolate Croissants. It was so good I almost cried.I have to say it was a little bit sugary so if you’re not heavy on sugar avoid it.It was so affordable and it was only 250 /=.One bit and the chocolate was just dripping Ugh the beauty of it all.Their food is also really good and this is my top dining recommendation when you’re in Nairobi.Their chicken wings are heaven sent. They are so juicy and one bite in you can feel all the flavour .Their service is also very fast.Food never takes a long time to get there .The waiters are also really friendly and on all my visits I end up making a new friend or two.Another thing I absolutely love about this place is their online delivery services.Very top notch.Once they got my order wrong and what they did was fully compensate me as well as give me an absolutely free complementary meal.I mean talk about great customer service..

May my eyebrows forever be aligned and my face contoured .

This is one of the commonest make up brands all around. I started my make up journey with Maybelline and currently I may buy one or two things from elsewhere but my basic products always come from here. They have several stores especially around Nairobi and wherever you are you will probably find their stores or Kiosks.Even if it's not their specific kiosks,There are many other shops all around who are authorised vendors .Buying make up for me should only be from an authorised Vendor or else it's very easy to sometimes buy counterfeit products. This stalls in Yaya is my go to. I think it's probably because I'm such a local here and I'm familiar with all the staff. I love how this store uses authentic and safe materials in making their products. There is also an evident gap in quality when compared to some other make up brands with Maybelline staying among the top. Their products are also relatively affordable and you don't have to break the bank when shopping here.Their super stay foundation to me is one for the books. It offers such full coverage and it stays on your face perfectly well even for the whole day.You don't have to keep adjusting or worrying that your make up will slightly lose it's sheen after a period of time. I buy this mostly from here and they always have my shade.Their range when it comes to foundation I must admit is slightly lacking and I usually have to blend two shades in order to get the perfect colour for my skin. They also sells make up brushes and beauty blenders for beginners but I've never really bought the tools from here. The staff here are pretty cool. The place is small so there is only so much help you can need. They also give you some make up tips here and there. The Maybelline super stay foundation is priced differently depending on the store but I've never bought it for more than 2800/=. They have so many other make up products and a visit here is definitely recommend.

Say yes to the dress! Just let your pocket know in advance.

I just feel like this store is quite pricey on some products. Maybe I'm a little broke at the time but if I ever cop the bag I'd probably not feel anything blowing some coins here when I can get a cheaper alternative elsewhere. Woolworths is a chain store that specialises in selling clothes and other related accessories. It deals in some of the latest design and their outfits are usually very trendy and chic. They just have this nice ring to them.I genuinely think that their fabric is high quality and even though I'm a little sceptical about it because of their pricing ,I must admit that some of their products are really good. The products they sell are usually South African oriented because it's a South African brand. It has several branches all around Kenya and even Kisumu City was recently blessed with one I was very pleased. Most of their shops sell close to the same products with the same price range and you rarely get short changed. The funny thing about this store is that most of the time they have quite a number of discount deals going around but even with that , the gap in their prices with the prices at other stores is still very visible. I think I consider it a mini-luxury brands. Their discounts always go up to 50% off and this if you don't mind blowing some coins it comes in very handy. They sell a variety of products catering for both men and women. They have a fully stocked kids section. They also sells shoes and such a wide range of accessories. What I frequently buy here is their plain cotton t-shirts.They are of really good quality and simple. They can be easily integrated into any outfit and offer so much convenience. They are relatively about 1000/=.If you're lucky and you get the quality discount deals it could go for way less.

Gorgeous rooms with an even more gorgeous pool. My go to staycation location.

This is one of the largest Radisson branches in Nairobi .During the corona period ,the branch in Westlands and upperhill were closed down and the only one that remained functional was this branch. I went here for a staycation. I had always wanted to visit this place and when mum told me I could go I almost lost it. This hotel is located close to city and it would only take you around twenty minutes to get here from the CBD. When you get here the first thing that attracts you is the whole green vibe around it. The restaurant surroundings are quite green making the landscape quite breathtaking. At the entrance the security is very strict and my luggage was checked thoroughly before I entered. The staff who were handling me were so friendly and I got my room and checked in pretty quickly. The whole time they were handling me they were just smiling and laughing making me feel very comfortable. In the room ,the finishing is exceptional. It's spacious, had a minibar, a bathtub, air-conditioning and Wifi. It also had a balcony that offered such a beautiful view. Another thing that had me on my toes was their outdoor pool. It was so breathtaking and combined with the environs just a whole vibe. I genuinely spent most of my time by the pool and also enjoying their cocktails at the bar. The food that was served for breakfast was buffet the breakfast was part of the package. They had such a large variety and you could pick many things from the table. They have a gym that's fully equipped though it's a little bit small. I didn't really use this service because who am I to go to the gym. I can barely run to save my life. I paid 17000/= per night. This pricing is a little bit on the higher side but when compared to their services it's totally worth it.

Cute Café. Great meals and even greater ambiance.

It's a nice little cafe. It has so many branches all around the country and I've visited a few branches. To me Java is mostly a quick drop by location when my friends randomly wanna meet up or I want to have a random impromptu official meeting, this is my go to place. It's either because the food is relatively affordable or because the locations are usually so convenient;make your pick. I promise you wherever you are there is probably a Java around. Their space is nice and cosy with very simple decor. I like how most of their branches have very neutral and calm colours. It gives off a whole homey feeling. It essentially gives life to their mantra when you come to Java you come home.I've had alot of meals here and like I said it's always grab and go.Their coffee which is one of their specialties is always perfect.Never disappoints me any time. They also have really good milkshakes which are usually so creamy and yummy.Yummy all the way to my tummy. Their prices are very very affordable and for a filling meal here you don't have spend so much money. Around 2000/=is enough for you to eat to your fill. Their portions are very fair and I've never once complained about being served too little. I've had their beef burger twice and I didn't like them that much . Filling they were but there was barely any taste I’m grateful I was very hungry . Both times it was the beef bacon cheeseburger and it was 900/=. Another one of my favorite things about java is that for three years in a row now they've had a 50% off deal on their cakes and ice creams on Valentines day; something I'm always looking forward to.On occasions when I don't have a date, it's nice little treat for myself and when I do have a date’ it's a nice little end to a perfect day.

Healthier options for a healthier you.

Healthy U had always only had their branches in Nairobi City according to the information I have.Sometimes when I used to buy things from there I would have to wait until I returned to Nairobi to be able to access the same products. With the coming of West End Mall, alot of business were able to sprout and set foundation in Kisumu and among them was Healthy U.The healthy U in Kisumu is actually quite small. It's basically one tiny room and compared to the other branches I've visited I couldn't help but sigh.I was at such a loss. With this, the variety of products you get at this store is less. They still have the same same inventory and pricing it's just that they now have a limited variety. The place is clean and the products are shelved in different categories to make your work easier. You have to personally pick what you want but if you need any help staff here are very willing . However ,this place does not have so many employees so when it gets full you'd have to wait for quite a while. I frequently see some attendants in labcoats and I guess they are the nutritionists that are available on deck if you need to make any consultation. They offer other services such as allergy testing, vitamin tracking and a metabolic balance program. Personally I've never really used these services. The only thing I've done is have a consultation with their nutritionist. Their inventory is very wide and most of their products are geared towards helping their clients achieve a healthier lifestyle. Most of the time when I come here it is to buy their premixed flour. I also like their gluten free pasta especially their rice quinoa fusilli. They cater for different needs like in this case if you don't eat food with gluten, eggs and also meat. The pasta was easy to cook and holds shape very well and it was 795/= for 250grams. They also have a wide variety of skin care products so you could also shop for them here. The pricing is a little bit expensive but their products are authentic.

Little Mombasa heaven in Homa bay.The beach gives me life !

This is one of the islands located on lake Victoria. It's such a hidden gem in Nyanza province and if you are visiting here this place is a must go. I came here last year during the December holidays .Our journey started all the way from Nairobi and we made the whole tour a road trip. We used our own means of transport. The journey from Nairobi to Kisumu was started in the morning at around 6:00pm and we arrived after about seven hours. We made several stops along the way and we enjoyed the scenery cause after all this was a road trip. When we got to Kisumu ,we decided to spend the night there and visit one or two places before starting our journey the following morning. We visited the Acacia premier hotel and had a couple of drinks at their bar. The next morning we left for Homabay county. Takawiri is actually located in Mbita. The drive to Mbita took us about three hours. With a matatu it would cost around 400/= and take about two hours. Our journey took longer because we kept stopping around. To get to the island you need to take a boat and we had contacted the resort so they ordered a boat for us. It was an additional cost so we paid 1000/= for each ride. When we got there , I was just like the beauty! The beach was so golden and beautiful. The water was so clear and the palm trees that were all around gave the coastal feeling to the place. Their was so many activities that you could do and most of my days was spent either fishing, swimming or snorkeling. The food that was served was really good and very tasty. The rooms were pretty decent and clean the staff that handled us were very caring and whatever activity we wanted to do they gave us all the information we needed. We stayed at the resort and it was around 5600/= per night per person. There are other choice of accommodation around do if you can't afford it worry not. The view of the sunset is especially magnificent and in the evening when you sip your cocktail it offers such a serene ambiance.

Very Hot appliances with slightly cold service.

Hotpoint appliances limited is a very well known supplier of household electronics all around the country. They have a wide range of products catering for some of your favorite local and international brands. I have always used Hotpoint Kenya but my last interaction with them was not very pleasant. In their stores practically all of them, the products displayed are usually similar and it ranges from TVs,fridges, washing machines, cookers and general home appliances. The stores are pretty clean and the products are selectively arranged depending on the brand and the use so you can be able to compare their qualities before you make a purchase. The last time I visited, like I said, I felt like there was no hospitality. The woman who was attending to me barely paid any attention and I had to wander around the store alone for quite a while. I found that a little baffling because were actually the only customers. This was also the only time something like this had happened. Other times the staff welcomed me so warm heartedly and found out what I wanted so they could give me advice appropriately.I bought a blender from here and it had an issue just six months after using it. It had stopped working and because the warranty was still valid I called them so that they can be able to repair it. Getting them on the phone even before we started the whole repair process was just hectic. The whole process of contacting them up to finally getting my blender replaced was so consuming I don't think I'd do that again. I know of someone who got a washing machine from here and it was absolutely functional without any problems for three years now. They really had no complaints. To me their products are good but their services are pretty slow any you can get really exhausted .

Easy ride on an easy fast bus.

This is one of the most affordable means of transport from Kisumu to Nairobi. That is the route I commonly use but their range of destinations is so wide even including Kampala. Previously before Easy Coach established their online booking services you had to physically go and buy a ticket you could either choose to do this on the day of your trip or weeks prior. This process was hectic to be honest. But with their new online booking it's no stress at all.You book your ticket and they send you a details that are relevant to your trip. When you get to the specific station on your day off travel they print out a hard copy of your ticket and give it to you. You actually have to get there a few minutes earlier so as to figure out all your details appropriately. Most of their transport means are buses and I've never seen a smaller vehicle. They also send both packages and parcels .Their seats to me are usually a bit uncomfortable. They are slightly rigid and sitting on this bus for a while is bound to give you some trouble. The seats on their own have a slight recline function which is conducive for long distance travels when you just want to chill. They have enough leg room and even if you have very long legs like me there is no strain. The drivers always drive carefully and if you want to alight along the road and not at the main stop It's allowed.Their service is also efficient and I've never personally had any uncomfortable encounter with them. I've sent a package from Nairobi to Kisumu and it cost me 250 shillings. It arrived safely and on the same day. They also have lounges in most of their offices where if after a late night arrival or before an early morning departure you can stop by here and wait. It's spacious with a snack bar. This is one of the suitable affordable options for long distance travels. Another thing I love about them is the fact that they don't hike their prices unprovoked and it's always at a constant rate or uniformly hiked throughout all their branches.

This airport is located to the North West of Kisumu and it's currently the only airport in Kisumu County. To get here from Kisumu's CBD is approximately thirty minutes and you would need to use the Kisumu-Busia road. It's A little far from the main road and I would advise one to use their personal car or a cab to avoid a hectic walk. You can also use a tuktuk or a motorcycle but those would be slightly strenuous. A motorbike would cost approximately 200/= while the taxis prices would vary depending on the person you get. On a normal day it shouldn't cost more than 700/=. When we went in, appropriate security measures were taken and our luggage was checked thoroughly. It has clean and very modern services with a nice restaurant and even a mini bar. The checking in at this airport take a relatively a short time. It's very touch and go and after about twenty minutes you are literally done with everything. The whole place is very organized and it's very easy to navigate through it. Most of the time I don't find it as packed and busy like Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. The airport has really cooperative staff and they always willing and ready to help you with everything you need. Their effort made sure everything was running very smoothly and this contributed a lot to efficiency. Compared to other airports it's quite small but this does not take away anything from it. When landing you get to enjoy the breathtakingly beautiful view of lake Victoria. The buildings here are very simple yet modern and the parking spaces easily accessible. As of now I only know of domestic flights to Nairobi and Mombasa. On arrival, your luggage takes a very short time to get to you which I also found quite convenient. Next to the airport there are hotels where you can go and get accommodation if you are new to the town. This includes: Sovereign hotel, Acacia premiere and Imperial hotel express.

Such a vivid movie experience!Had me singing Wakanda forever for months.

Just two years ago the Wakanda,I mean black panther film was released. This to date remains one of my very favorite movies and I attribute my love for it partly to the perfect film that it was and also to the perfect movie experience that I got from Imax. Imax Garden City has been my go to movie location and just like Wakanda is forever Imax is forever to me when it comes to movies. When they officially had the premiere we even got dressed in little African outfits trying to get the whole Wakanda spirit up and running. It seems just like yesterday. Our movie tickets on that day were a little expensive because it was the first day. On other normal days I pay 800/= and it gets even better on their student Thursday's where I pay 400/=. As long as you go with your student ID you get to enjoy this deal. When we entered the theatre, it really was state of the art. The seats were well spaced and the whole place was clean and well kept. When the movie started playing the audio and the visuals were just perfect. The audio was heart pounding with perfectly timed sound. The speakers are also placed all around in perfect alignment making no seat experience a disadvantage whatsoever. The visuals really had this brilliance and clarity to it making the experience a whole lot better. When you combine all this with the 3D glasses, the heightened realism is one for the books. All this things combined is really what creates what is commonly referred to as the Imax experience. You can either choose to carry your own 3D or rent some that are usually provided at the entrance. I don't really know the rates because I've always had mine for the longest time but it shouldn't cost more than 300/=. There is also snacks sold at the entrance and you can grab a thing or two. There is also a lounge where you can sit as you wait for your movie to start.

Such an affordable airline.

I've used this airline a number of times. It's my go to every time I want to make either one way or return trips domestically. Basically Jambojet is a subsidiary airline that was started to enable passengers who want to use this services have access. Most of my common trips have been from Kisumu to Nairobi and Kisumu to Mombasa .I have booked my tickets online and I find the online services very convenient and transparent. They gave me notifications as soon as I bought my ticket and a copy was sent to me via my email. It contained all the relevant details and information pertaining to my trip.I'm quite satisfied with Jambojet but the only thing I don't like about this airline is that twice now I have experienced delays. To me, this is such an inconvenience and when I have urgent things that need to get done I don't use them. There was one time my flight was delayed for up to two hours and I was not given an explanation whatsoever. I remember on one occasions my fellow passengers kept saying this has happened to them severally and it was just a little alarming.Other than this, everything else at this airline is done at per. The affordability is one of my favorite things. On all my trips I have never spent more than 10,000/=. If you book earlier you get to enjoy way lower prices. One time I bought my ticket for as low as 3500/= for my trip to Kisumu. On the flight the cabin crew were very friendly and professional. For my height(which is quite something) there was enough leg room and the seats were very comfortable. There was in-flight entertainment with WiFi and movies. I barely got to enjoy the because my trip was very short. Cleanliness was upheld at high standards and their is also a light snack that was provided during my trip. Overally, if you are looking for a budget airline this is your go to service.

Home to the best burgers in town I promise.

If you are talking to me about burgers and you mention a restaurant that's not Urban Gourmet just know the conversation is going to end there. I've had several burgers in so many restaurants but very few can actually compare with the burgers from Urban Gourmet. It has several branches all around Nairobi but the branches I frequent mostly are the ones in Capital center and the one in Garden City. The burgers are always well done for the price that you pay talking about value for your money would be an understatement. All the way from the food to the simple yet elegant decor, everything is done so keenly and just to my liking. Their prices are very fair with my favorite deal of course being their Monday deal. Anyone who has dined here will tell you this is practically a deal of the century. It sounds exaggerated but I promise I'm not lying. My favorite burger is the chicken schnitzel burger. On normal days it's 890/= and it's just a simple crunch chicken burger served with onion ,aioli and white cabbage salad. A lot of people say it's dry but with the right amount of ketchup it taste perfectly fine. Their Texas burger is also pretty good and of all the burgers I find it the most tasty. On many occasions, when people ask me what to send me as a comfort food my answer ninety percent of the time is get me an Urban Gourmet burger. Their urban shakes are also a must recommend and don't forget to grab one when you pay a visit to this place. So sweet and creamy.

This is a very luxurious 4 star hotel that's located in upperhill Nairobi. It's very pricey and a night here costs us about 15000/= per person. I stayed here for a weekend during my nineteenth birthday and it was such a wonderful experience. Straight from the main entrance that opens up to a very large hall, the staff are so outgoing. They are very helpful and basically helped us take care of everything. I barely lifted a finger from picking up my luggage to getting me the perfect room, everything was done pretty fast. The decor of the front desk is very simple and classy and on your right to there's a nice lounge/ lobby which makes a perfect pit stop. We were then taken to our rooms and how lovely they were. They were so spacious with a nice flats screen TV, very comfortable beds and air conditioning. I didn't want to leave the room at all and just wanted to sleep away this staycation. They had so many amenities on board but what really got me sold was their spa, hot tub and heated pool. I genuinely wanted to live in that spa.Set up a whole family and have children there. They also had a fitness center but who am I to go to there . I just showed up to see how it looked and left to take a dip in their beautiful pool. Their meals on the two days we were there were quite well done. The buffet had a variety of options you could choose from and I always ate to my fill. The bar after the spa were my second home and I liked their nice low music which just created a whole ambiance. Everything about this place was done to my liking and I would definitely recommend .It is as a preferred location for accommodation ;either casual or official. The staff also kept coming to check up on me and making sure I was alright which again was a plus.

Such a nice chic restuarant absolutely love it.

Just like it's name urban eatery presents it's clients with an urban concept of dining and a sneek peak into the urban lifestyle. They have a beautiful cocktail bar that serves such an extensive range of liquor and beer.Their kitchen is committed to providing mouthwatering dishes by incorporating heartwarming flavours and ingredients. Their menu is so extensive and all tastes and preferences are catered for inclusively. I personally felt like most cuisines were catered for adequately. They also have a coffee shop that blends and brews some of the best coffee I've had. On my first visit here,I dropped by casually for my twentieth birthday and other than that we also got to partake in the Nairobi pizza festival that was going on at that time. We ordered several things from their menu and what left an impression till to date was their freakshakes. The shakes were about 700/=.When the waiter brought it to my table it had such a full blast of colors (well it was just two hahaha) and there was so much ice cream it kept overflowing from the cup. Maybe because I just have a sweet tooth or I just like good things I felt like the taste in my mouth was heavenly once I took a sip. The proportions and the sugar was just right;highly recommend. My partner ordered a glass of light dry blended fruity sparkling wine called Papillon Brute. It had a whiff of peach and grass with a succulent dry finish. The other thing we ordered was Pizza from their Nairobi restaurant week menu and because of the deal that was going round ,we bought one and got the other one absolutely free. We got their chicken pizza and I was a little bit distracted from the taste because of all the sugar I just had so I can barely give a review on total we spent around 3000/= and we both felt like the meals were pretty filling.

Cosy garden setting offering well curated food in Nairobi.

The talisman was originally a tiny old house but it's grown into one of the very famous dining locations in Nairobi .It's located in Karen. It's quite a distance so if you are planning to visit this restaurant that's something to consider. Anyone who has visited talisman in the late hours of the day can appreciate the importance of making a reservation. It gets really filled up especially by the locals and getting a seat can become quite cumbersome. They have a whole organic garden and most of their produce is from this same garden. I visited this place on a Friday evening for a nice little candlelit dinner we had quite a blast from their menu. For starters we had their tempura prawns and twice cooked pork belly both of these dishes were 1050/=. The prawns had a little bit of teriyaki to it and the pork was glazed in honey soil. For our main dishes we had their Thai red sea food and beef lasagna. The Thai red sea food was 1950/= and it had little prawns and squid together with vegetables. The lasagna was 1650/=. It had slowly cooked beef with mushroom and bacon that was topped with a parmesan salad truffle. We were quite full after and none of us could really stomach desert. For the drinks we both had mocktails that were both affordable at 500/=each. I felt like the prices were a little high in comparison to their tiny potions this was expected because it's located in Karen and the clientele from here would not really mind generally dining in a garden eating pretty well done food is a vibe and I definitely recommend. There were firepits around and if you felt it was getting a little bit too cold you could snooze and cuddle around them.

I fall in love with the green lustrous vibe every time.

This is a nice little forest in the outskirts of Nairobi. This place is an absolute picnic location. If you want somewhere to just get a little intimate with your friends or your family as you enjoy nature then this is the place for you. The place is very bushy and a wide span of area is covered in forest so I wouldn't advice you to go alone. Even when going jogging get a partner or two . We drove from CBD to karura and it took us only twenty minutes. It was around 1:00pm and their was no traffic. At the entrance we paid 100/= per person and something we didn't know was we needed to pay picnic charges because of carrying food. We set up a nice little picnic and had so much fun. Besides having a picnic you can do so many other things at karura such as; walking, jogging, hiking and bicycle riding along the beautiful nature trails. They also have really great waterfalls with water that's cool and refreshing. Like I said always ensure you walk with a partner. It's very easy to get lost here but at least incase you do you'll be together with someone. I got lost twice and I have to admit having a partner to get lost with was a little too humourous. Two adult brains but we still couldn't find the way. We had to cling to a group of people who looked like they knew what was happening until we discovered they also didn’t have a clue.Which again was very humourous(we were basically the joke). Otherwise the experience was lovely ; in lovelier environs definitely recommend.

Simple outfits at a really affordable price.

Mr price is a very common clothing store in Kenya especially in Nairobi. Most of the people I know shop from this store. It's selling point is mostly that majority of their clothes are usually very affordable. In addition to that their choice of fabric is very good and most of them are durable .An outfit I get from here typically lasts me about two years without any wear or tear. They sell such a large variety of clothes catering for all ages and genders with no discrimination whatsoever. There's literally something for everyone. The only thing to note is that sometimes they don't have clothes that are all inclusive in regards to sizes. Their plus size collection especially when it comes to jeans is very limited. Even if you get something there's not such variety. I find their clothes very trendy although the term Nairobi uniform really holds when it comes to this store. I promise you the fact that there's something for everyone means everyone is gonna have something from there. I frequent this store because of their cute little tops and t shirts which I find very affordable. Their dresses are usually very stylish and also quite classy . Another one of my favorite accessories from here is their non optical glasses that I regularly buy for 500/= . Mr price opened a sister branch in Sarit center called Mr price home. From the name alone it plainly sells home related accessories such as furniture, home decor, bed and bath supplies and lastly kids and baby accessories . With this other branch it became a wholesome entity and I think all of your needs would definitely be met here.

Simple restuarant but better burgers await me elsewhere.

When I first went to burger king I forgot that it's fast food restaurant and I guess I had alot of expectations. As soon as I arrived all it gave was a quick meal vibe. Their burgers are definitely not the best burgers. First of all they are very small and I had to order two to actually get full. Secondly the taste is just there and the food is just usual. Their sitting spaces are also not very convenient and the washroom was particularly small I had to wait quit a while in line. When I got in the hygiene was also not at per and the whole experience just became uncomfortable. There is really not much to say in terms of ambiance and decor when it comes to this fast food restaurant. It's pretty simple. Their portions when it comes to fries is also quite small but like I said since I got two and my stomach was happier because of it. The fries are actually well made and perfectly thin. The food took quite a short while and I didn't have to wait for so long .When I saw the burger and how tiny it was I guess I understood why(hahaha). The service was good and the staff were lovely. In general there's really nothing remarkable to write about. The only thing I can commend them for is that the prices are quite cheap and for two burgers and a drink I spent around 1000/=

Grab a cold milkshake and food to release some of the kisumu heat.

With the coming of Westend mall to Kisumu a lot of businesses emerged. One of these businesses is Java house and I have to say it was about damn time. So this Java is relatively big. I've gone to several other branches in Nairobi and this is one of the most spacious one's. It's located on the first floor of Westend mall and it occupies a span of two stalls with an outside section for sitting .I don't prefer sitting outside because it doesn't offer privacy. There are many people shopping around the mall and they pass by the this place so during the peak hours even having a conversation may be difficult. Westend mall has a lot of stores and I frequently come here so after a little hustle and bustle dropping by Java soothes my soul. Their colors are usually so simple and they blend so well. I feel like they make the restaurant so serene and their fixtures and paintings make it even better. Like I said ,after a hot day their milkshakes are the bomb. Kisumu can get so hot sometimes and having something cold is exactly what you need. My favorite of course is their gourmet chocolate chip cookie milkshake. I love how it's thick and delicious. They make their shakes with a higher proportion of ice cream relative to milk and this is exactly the way to do it. This shake is usually 440/=. I find this relatively affordable. Their most expensive shake is only 460/=. The thing about this place is that sometimes it can get really crowded during the peak hours. One time I witnessed a family being made to wait for around fifteen minutes because there was no available seat. The staff are very professional and your order does not take a long time to get delivered. If you are in Kisumu and you are looking for a cafe to visit this would be the place.

A conducive Centre for learning all you want about Chinese Language.

After I finished my form four I wanted to do Chinese and I was looking for a place that could offer really good packages for their Chinese language lessons. A friend recommended Kenyatta University because of their Confucius institute. This institute was established in around 2008 and it upholds a high quality of learning when it comes to the Chinese language. I know several people who graduated from here. I first started with the beginners in Chinese language and culture package that basically has two semesters .I felt like the teaching was very good and for a beginner I didn't feel particularly pressured. The lectures were very accommodating and took their time to make sure I understood what was being taught. After I finished beginners course I went for their other program which is now a certificate in Chinese language and culture and this also had two semesters. This level was a little bit difficult but I pulled through. Their charges were relatively fair and I'd really recommended it if you want to learn this language. Generally about the architecture I feel like in some areas Kenyatta University is doing well in some areas. Some buildings are new so of course they look better and the older ones look a little too old .What I didn't like was the hygiene in some of the washrooms.I felt like it was really lacking in some areas of the school. This was essentially prominent in the older buildings that have poor plumbing. The cleanliness everywhere else is relatively good and this makes it very conducive for study.Their library is also one of the best in the country with a large collection of books and other reading materials. It also has several different study sections making it very convenient.

Serving a whole lot of ambiance

This is a recently opened restaurant. As soon as it opened everyone was talking about how beautiful the whole place was. Trust me when you get there you really don't get disappointed .Their motto is let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food and as a foodie am just gonna go ahead and say amen to that. It's located in One Africa Place next to delta towers along Waiyaki way. The place is very easy to find. I went here on date after a recommendation from a fellow foodie. As soon as I entered I fell in love. The colors and their tones, the lighting fixtures, the seats and the sitting arrangement,as well as the general decor made the place absolutely stunning. In short for ambiance I'm giving them all my money because it's on point. Not only the inside, but also the outside view of the city skyline is quite stunning. If you love good photos this place has a perfect backdrop. I hate to say that all they served is the ambiance. I felt that their food needed a little bit of more effort. With the ambiance I just expected a little bit better. This only applied to the food because the drinks were actually well done. When I went there( I don’t know about now )there was no happy hour deal on their cocktails and I felt like that was such a flop. I ordered a beef burger and the whole patty and the whole burger on its own was not that tasty. I just expected it to be a little bit juicer. It was 1050/= and it was served with a side potato mash. I also had their pepperoni pizza and it was just alright nothing grand to report about it. It was 1250/=. In short grand ambiance, great cocktails and fair food.

Personally anything adrenaline filled is a no go zone for me. Even with this said I still always find myself doing nature related things. I’m always dragged by my friends but I guess the end justifies the means. Oloolua nature trail is sort of a peaceful haven that is found in Nairobi concealed in the neighborhood of karen . It actually took me three visits to know that it is the home to institute of primate research in Kenya. Sometimes I use my private means to get there but on days when I not have access to that I use public transport. I take a matatu from town ,route number 24 and alight at a junction close to Karen blixen museum. I then walk a little bit before I arrive at the nature trail. They charge students 200/= and that's what I pay because I always go with my ID card. What I love about this place is the very dense plant life that extends over such a large piece of land. Everywhere you look is just a beautiful green. Right from the entrance the place is covered in different flora and fauna. Another thing that caught my eye was the underground caves that apparently used to house Maumau fighters during their hiding period(wild right?).This place has a picnic site,or rather you can choose to have a picnic wherever you find convenient. We had a nice little picnic with my friends. There was so much cheer and so much laughter in the wild. I also saw camp sites and if you want to spend a night in the wild without leaving Nairobi I'd recommend this place. Overalls it was a beautiful journey through nature.

A cosy restuarant offering a relatively casual dining experience

News cafe has several branches in Sarit center, Adlife plaza and in Rosslyn riviera mall. It's basically a cafe that combines a coffee bar, cocktail bar, restaurant and entertainment zone all under one roof. My favorite branch of course is the one in Sarit center because it offers convenience. It's quite close to where I stay. It used to be really satisfying but nowadays I feel like their quality of service has gone down quite a bit. The wait in time is unusually long one day in particular I went for burgers and had to wait a whole hour. The cocktails alone took around thirty minutes to get ready. The place was quite full and I get that maybe that would lead to a longer waiting time but I felt like an hour was too much. My favorite cocktail of course is the seven deadly sins and during happy hour I always get it for 600/= . During the other working hours it goes for 950/= . Their long island is also pretty good. I like their spring chicken. It's basically chicken that's flame grilled with lemon and herb spatchcock. It is served with your choice of side and it costs around 1500/=. It's quite tasty and I find it such a good deal for a quick lunch. I also like their fiery chicken burger. It's a burger made up of punko crumbled chicken fillet dipped in fiery hot sauce, topped with gherkins and blue cheese sauce on a bed of lettuce and tomato. It costs about 1300/=.Their freezos are also an absolute must.On a hot day ,you can definitely beat the scorching sun with just a sip of the cold and refreshing freezos. Their service, like I said initially,is quite disappointing .A very small waiter to customer ratio is the root of all the problems.

Luxury dining with a beautiful panoramic view

This is a luxury property with very beautifully decorated quarters that offers the celebrated revolving restaurant and open air swimming pool in Nairobi. What made me go here was the whole buzz around the rotating restaurant and the beautiful views. It is located in Westlands and is pretty easy to find. This place is very chic and the ambiance is very pleasant. The decor is African themed and you could tell they took their time. The waiting service at this place gets a rating of 10/5 from me. I remember I was served by two beautiful women who were so gentle making my heart melt. In those few hours we interacted we practically became best friends (hahaha). The pricing is definitely on the higher side and when visiting this place you need to go prepared to dive into your pocket a little bit. I went here for the Nairobi burger festival and dined at the Baluba restaurant the burgers were really huge and quite tasty . I had the famous `Big Moments burger 'and I promise you when I say value for your money I mean it one hundred percent .It was so huge and filling. The patty was also so tasty and my mouth was in heaven for a few minutes. My partner however had a problem with a burger saying it was too bland and they actually took it back and made another chef prepare a whole other juicy burger at absolutely no cost. Talk about great customer service. Their mocktails were good and we spent around 6000/= by the end of the night. Just from the dining experience I think a night or two in this high end restaurant would be such a bliss.

I am very tall . All my life (ok after my growth spurt happened),I was always compared to a Giraffes . When I finally got here, I could really feel like the giraffes here considered me one of their own. They were so friendly and feeding them was absolutely blissful. Giraffe center is a wildlife conservation that doubles as sanctuary for a species of giraffes that was going extinct. It's located in Langata quite a distance from the central business district of Nairobi. We went here on a quiet Monday afternoon and it took us around an hour from town. We paid 400/= per person but the price varies with age and residency. In my opinion it's pretty small with all the people tending to cramp up in a tiny hut like structure that offers the perfect location If you want to feed the Giraffes. There is also only so much you can do here because if you are not feeding girrafes, you are looking at girrafes and if you are not looking a girrafes you are probably talking about girrafes. There is a nature trail that is also part of the center and the only impressive thing you can see is a bird. I genuinely enjoyed feeding them and I feel like the guide who was handing out the feeds was very close to reporting me to the management for overfeeding. I could feel the rough tongues of the girrafes brush across my hands every time I fed them. This whole experience gave me mixed feelings ; a little gross but at the same time very thrilling. This place is very family friendly and little kids seemed to be enjoying so much. If I had been reported for overfeeding, majority of the people in the cell with me would probably have been toddlers.

Fun filled family brunch over amazing food.

I went to Brew Bistro with my family for brunch during this quarantine period. Brew Bistro is a lounge that serves really good food and at night it qualifies for a night club. It has two branches, one is in Ngong road and the other one is in Westlands. We went to the branch along Ngong road and it was quite a distance from CBD. The good thing is that it's right along the road so the location was pretty easy to find. Because we visited here during the pandemic, I feel like their was much about this restaurant that I did not get to experience. We had made a reservation earlier so the sitting arrangement was pretty cosy for me and my family. The only thing I didn't like was the lighting inside the restaurant was pretty dark and considering it was during the day it made the whole mood sombre. Their brunch menu is normally very extensive from what I've heard because it was initially a highly recommended brunch location . When we got there this of course was true the only catch was that only about three or two meals from the menu were ready due to the corona restrictions. You had to wait for around twenty minutes for the meal you wanted from their menu to be prepared and I didn't mind it too much because I understood it was the whole pandemic. I ate so much food and it was so filling. My favorite food from that day would definitely be the beef and chicken curry. Some of the best curry I've had my whole life. The beef and the lamb chops were too fatty for my liking and a little bland if I’m being honest. The waffles and the pancakes were pretty good. Their fruit selection was very lacking with only about four to five fruits to choose from. We got there at around 11:30am and the place was relatively quiet till about 4:30pm you couldn't even talk too loud because the person on the other end of the restaurant would feel like your stories were for the whole place and they deserved a right to comment. At 4:30 with no warning whatsoever the place became instantly full and even the music became livelier for some reason. It took alot of discipline for us to leave. Definitely recommend.

Home to my favourite cute little designs.

Finding my favourite outfit in a store is always a dream come true.Ninety percent of the time when I make random pop ups in this store, it's never to buy anything but purposely to window shop. It's funny because every time,I end up seeing such cute outfits that just perfectly work. When faced with such a scenario the mind is strong but the body is always weak:few minutes later I'm holding a basket full of several outfits ready to rock and roll with absolutely no second thoughts. That's what this store does to you.LC Waikiki is basically a clothing store. It has several branches worldwide and it purposely serves to provide a range of ready to wear clothing and accessories to suit the different tastes and preferences of different individuals. The branches in Kenya just opened recently .I didn't know about this store growing up and it's definitely my loss.So far I have visited about three branches .The branch in Sarit Centre, the other one in two rivers and the final branch is the one in the Hub Karen. I visit this LC Waikiki severally because they sell high quality fabrics at a relatively affordable price. The range of outfits you can make a selection from is so so wide and I promise their prices are fair. They also have so many designs that incorporate some of the latest fashion trends on the market allowing you to dress to impress. LC Waikiki caters for all genders and all ages : an all round inclusivity that makes it a perfect spot for families to go shopping together. They also recently came up with the option of instantly shopping via Whatsapp .With this, you just send the outfit you want ,make the relevant payment and bam your order arrives right at your doorstep. So much convenience!

Does eating authentic mexican food enough times from here make you mexican at heart?Absolutely Yes!

This is a Mexican bar and kitchen. I think this place is pretty gorgeous. All the colors, all the lighting fixtures, the decor and generally the whole design is pretty exquisite. Before I got the food the only thing that left me baffled and not in a nice way was the shared toilet space for both men and women. I had a not so nice encounter with a stranger here and it left me quite shaken. I think that's an important thing to note. They specialized in serving Mexican cuisine and even more their drinks are tailored that way. I find their food very tasty especially their quesadilla and their chicken .Quite savory. I prefer their chicken tonga quesadilla which was 1050/=. It's basically grilled wheat tortillas with pulled chicken breast that has been cooked in chipotle chicken chilli. The quesadilla was pretty tiny and if you eat a lot either order several plates or just don't do it. To me it was like a snack They used classic Mexican ingredients and you an taste the authenticity just from one bite. I ordered a pitcher of their Cancun pina colada and it was 4200/=. It's basically Malibu rum blended with pineapple infused milk topped with coconut cream an cinnamon. A glass goes for around 800/= if you don't want a pitcher. We were just two and we downed the whole thing. I'd like to say that by the time I was done am pretty sure there were four bartenders who looked exactly alike no lie. One thing that stood out for me is that their menu is all inclusive with gluten free, vegetarians and vegan options. Their menu is relatively pricey and a filling meal plus a drink should cost around 3000/= per person. If you are looking for first date ideas this is definitely one of the places you should consider.

Just vibes on vibes over drinks and good food.

This is a typical idle zone for random hang outs. K1 will always have something for you to do and whenever my friends and I are bored the unanimous alternative to being at home is let's all go to K1. Basically it's a club house that's located along Ojijo road, Parklands. It's the entertainment joint where I guarantee you'll meet this one friend of yours you last talked to two years ago and don't really know what has been going on with them. In short what am trying to say is that if you want to catch up and chill as you enjoy diverse food then K1 is the place. To be honest, it's more of a place you go more for the vibes and energy and less for the food. They have really good drinks though and they always leave you feeling a little bit tipsy probably the way you intended them to. My favorite day to visit K1 is on Wednesday's they have this really insane program called open mic. It's hosted by the beautiful Patricia Kihoro and you get to watch very exciting performances .It also provides an incredible opportunity for talented people to come and showcase what they can really do. The venue where this happens usually has a nice rustic vibe to it and the dim lighting crates a whole mood. You get to enjoy their happy hour deals on cocktails and beers at such an affordable price. I found their customer service really good and the waiter could not stand seeing my table empty. As soon as my drinks ran out she would appear from nowhere almost like she had a sixth sense. I still find this pretty mysterious. On Sundays, this place usually gets ten times livelier. There is always something happening and the best part is vendors join in all the fun .If you're not into open mic, I'd recommend visiting it on a Sunday and I promise you definitely won't regret it.

One of the most convenient little cafes ever!

This restaurant is lovely. I feel like all the branches are crafted so simply and perfectly. The decor is always on the minimal side and the ambiance very chill but at the same time sort of official. In Nairobi this is one of my favorite restaurants to dine in. Sometimes when I'm bored at home I drop by to read a book or two especially during the day before it gets crowded during the peak hours . From around 4pm it gets kind of noisy and it becomes difficult to concentrate. I think this is because of their happy hour deal which basically says come one come all. For me from their menu I think what I love the most is their pasta. Their other meals to me are pretty standard with nothing especially overwhelming . Their mushroom penne which costs around 1190/= is the pasta that's closest to my heart. Basically it's pasta that's served with a creamy mushroom onion and garlic sauce with parmesan cheese and sugar snaps added on top. I occasionally add a serving or two of grilled chicken at about 100/=each. I kid you not if you love pasta this is a real babe. When it comes to drinks my favorite selection off their happy hour menu is their strawberry daiquiri. It used to be 700/=but the price went up it's now 950/= to be honest, I love it cause it's such a beautiful cocktail especially when it's frozen over it looks like a nice tiny gorgeous mountain with cherry on top. I also find their coffee very well done. Their salted caramel cake that costs 390/= does wonders for my mouth it's baked so well with just the right amount of sweetness;so much goodness.Their service is pretty fast but during the peak hours you can wait for quite a while.Overally , I love this place. In regards to convenience and pasta , they have my heart.

Any activity that involves work or actually requires me to use any amount of energy is generally a no for me.I prefer to stay indoors or when I go out sit somewhere probably a nice little restaurant and just dine. This activity located in the heart of Village market is for people who like adrenaline filled experiences. Personally I felt I over exerted myself when I visited (okay not really ).I went here with my friends for their student Thursday deal and we got to save 100/= off which as pretty fair. It actually wasn't my first time because I'd already been to the village bowl before it was closed for renovation. When we entered it was such a vibrant and lively space perfect for friends and families to hang out. The decor made the background very beautiful and the whole vibe on entry instantly gives you a shot of energy. They gave us shoes which were quite fitting and for the 400/=we paid we got to play one round. My friends who were there like looked like they had such a thrill out of it and you could hear the loud laughing and mocking of those who lost several rounds . Personally I sat down on their little couches(which are perfect btw) after one round. I ordered food and drinks from their menu as I lazed around.Other people kept themselves busy by playing a game or two of pool. This place gets really full on some occasions and you have to wait for a while before any of the bowling alleys can be free.Even with this, you'd probably not feel inconvenienced because Village market on it's own is full of so many activities. The attendants are really friendly and I remember on one occasion they saw me losing so much and decided to add supporting rails just to give me some face . Overally,a very fun filled activity.
