Big Square Junction

At Junction Mall, the Phoenix Restaurant beside the Art Caffe’ at Junction Mall was replaced with a new fast food joint called the Big Square whose first branch was opened in 2014 last along Limuru Road by the UN headquarters. The décor is enticing and looks clean. The great thing about this place is that it is fast food. If you are craving McDonalds or Burger King this is the place for you in Kenya. They actually have more selection than you would think with gourmet burgers such as sweet onion and honeydew smoked beef. On top of burgers, they have other options such as chicken, salads, and ribs. You can have your burger any way you want – a wide choice of dressings or styles, a wide selection of sauces, different meats ie beef, veg, lamb, & chicken my favorite being the ribs. They also do breakfast. All at moderate prices. Sharp They also have bacon and egg sandwich options for breakfast. You order at the main counter and the food is delivered to your table. It never takes too long to get your food, however, on this particular day our order took some time. All at moderate prices. Sharp, modern furnishings nice and clean place, seats have big cushions to lounge in The ribs were heavenly, well cooked but not overdone. The barbeque sauce was just right – not too sticky, not too sweet, and with just the right amount of flavor. They had ketchup, mayo, and chili sauce. Unfortunately the two times we tried the chips, they were cold. The chips were not up to par for those of us who like the chunky and finger-long ones like the adverts. Why do I like Big Square? because it is a locally owned & managed fast food joint. Buy Kenya Build Kenya!

I came to Nairobi to visit my cousin and he ended up dragging me up to this place I’m a food lover so I didn’t mind And the place looks amazing I might say,they guys who did the decor out did themselves The service there was also great We were served by a male man but I can’t remember his name unfortunately I had the bubble blue milkshake if that was the name And I had it with the pizza that had the pineapple toppings And I must say that the pizza slapped like nothing else The best ribs, I love the ribs here, so perfect, we were served by a lovely expectant waitress. No complaints. My favorite ribs spot in Nairobi is to cure that protein craving after a workout and I love it. I loved the fries too they were giving what they were supposed to give And also the chicken that I had the size was what I wanted The long sausage tested so good And the salad wrapped things up Not forgetting the toppings the mayo,tomato sauce the rest I can’t remember but they make everything taste beautifully and I just loved it The ambience for me was a 10/10 And also the service that I got was top notch Definitely will be coming back again Cause I know that my dimes ain’t going down the drain Period!

This was my go to spot for burgers and ribs until other better competitors came in to town. They have 11 branches: 2 in CBD, Mombasa road,Junction,Mountain view,Lavington, Two rivers,Wilson, Adlife,Garden city and Mombasa-Nyali Cinemax. I frequent the waiyaki way one more coz its only 15min from home. They have an array of square burgers,juicy pork and beef ribs, shakes,cheesy pizzas, grilled chicken among other amazing delicious meals. To top up the experience, they also serve signature cocktails, fruity sangria and their own brew(square bru). In my opinion, their drinks are not their strongest suit,you can get better elsewhere….I would stick to their shakes. I find the food prices to be somewhat on the higher side considering the portions are small. And please note that what you see on their ad or menu is not what you get. Some of the food and drinks I’ve tried from their menu: 1. Fudge surprise (500/=)- this is a megashake incorporated with ice cream,mill,fudge sauce,chocolate sauce,top deck,chocolate and cream. This i highly recommend 👌 2. Oreo shake (380/=)- very rich and not too overly sweet 3.Bacon and cheese square burger- on its own it goes for 570/= as a meal 790/=. I love it because it’s very juicy and sometimes it’s well seasoned. They also have a double bacon&cheese (820/= plain 1040/= meal) which I would advise do not order for delivery. Bcz sometimes they actually don’t double the portions and yet you’ve paid…plus the inconvenience of waiting for them to bring the order back can really disappoint..it’s better as a dine-in meal. 4. Special grill platters -tender lamb chops with chips (900/=) and FIESTA (1550/=) which has 1 choma sausage, 1 borewores, ¼grilled chicken,3pork ribs and chips. Their meat is most definitely soft and juicy but I wish they would be consistent on the portions…aki sometimes unaweza Pata like 3small pieces. 5. Pizza- they range between Ksh.550-2000. I’ve tried the Magherita and meat lovers. I didn’t like their pizza at all….the flavors just didn’t hit it for me. I love the concept of creating your own pizza though..very thoughtful for guys who like being spontaneous. Overall, this space is perfect for all age groups. They have created a space that celebrates its 4 cornerstones: Food,Family, Friends and Fun.

This restaurant has many branches all over the city. I frequent the one at The Junction Mall since it is close to where I go to church. We usually go there after church with this friend of mine. The décor is very nice and modern. The spacing allows for privacy and is therefore suitable for dates and business meetings. The service was good and whenever there is a delay, the waiters are quick to calm people down. The food is definitely worth the wait. I have been here so many times that the staff know me. I get to the counter and they are like “The usually?” haha. I usually have the single pork ribs with a side of fries which was KES1240 while she gets the half grilled chicken with rice which was KES940. It’s like a ritual but the tastes are amazing. The balcony area has a nice breeze and quite the a view .
