Their art collection is unlike any other.
What a gem this place is. It’s located some 30 minutes from Nairobi CBD and a cab cost about kes 700. The trip is all the way worth it. I hadn’t heard of the place before a friend of mine, who is an artist, invited me to go see it. The area surrounding the museum is lush. Lots of trees and plants. Luckily, the entrance is not far from the houses. It contains a number of houses with lots of pieces and books. I liked the main house. It’s huge and made of wood giving a rustic look that the art complements all so well. By the time I was through with the ground floor, my friend and I had already gotten separated. I spent hours looking and reading and moving to the next house then the next. However, I felt some discrimination because none of the staff had taken me through the tour as compared to the foreigners who were getting a lot of attention. Either way, it’s a place I’ll surely revisit.
