OUR HISTORY
Fly540 Kenya was established in 2005 by Don Smith (CEO) and Nixon Ooko (Operations Director) who between them share over 50 years of commercial regional and international aviation experience.
Fly540 took to the skies in November 2006. The company’s first flights were between Nairobi and Mombasa using a 48-seat ATR 42-320 turbo prop aircraft. The destination network was soon increased with more domestic routes and extra airplanes were added to the existing fleet. The value for money flights won instant popularity among passengers as this was the first time they could affordably and conveniently travel by air.
In 2010, Fly540 Kenya expanded its operations internationally with services flying to Tanzania and South Sudan.
In 2011, Fly540 Kenya was honoured at the East African Community Conference in Kampala for its contribution to economic growth in Africa based on the rapid expansion of its air services in the region.
