Golden Tulip

This four-star restaurant was the place we chose to have my friend’s birthday dinner. Located on 65 Muthithi Rd, Nairobi, it’s easy to get a cab from Nairobi city center. It cost us no more than KES300. We got there at around 6 pm. We had made a reservation because it usually gets packed. The ambiance is great and the customer service even better. After taking it all in and settling down, we decided on what we were going to eat. It did not take more than 15 minutes to get served. We enjoyed some drinks while waiting for the food. The whole place is such a vibe. The food was very tasty and they have extra generous portions. We continued with a few drinks while we cut the birthday cake. They did not charge us for bringing the cake. Some places do. There were even some members of staff who helped with the birthday song. It is quite a lovely place.

From the décor, to the vicinity, customer service, pocket friendly prices, this hotel embodies everything you would be looking for in a hotel. We celebrated my best friend’s 24th birthday dinner here at a restaurant within the hotel called temptation. The ambience is nothing short of amazing. We got a warm reception from one of the staff members called Rachel. We chatted with her the entire time and from how comfortable she made us feel, she’s an invaluable asset to the hotel especially for people with families. The food was not only terrific, but the portions were also very substantial and they gave us ice cream for dessert on the house, as the hotel’s gift to the birthday girl. Whatever was left from what we didn’t finish was nicely packaged for us in tin foils and packed in branded bags. They allowed us to bring our own cake which is a plus since most hotels would require you to buy the cake from them. I also noticed that the bathrooms were well designed for use by the disabled which is something a lot of hotels don’t have. There are several aesthetically pleasing spots within the hotel that are very “instagrammable”so if you’re a photo junkie this is definitely the place to add glitter to your Instagram aesthetic. Food is about relaxation, friendship, conversations and a gathering place that promotes a sense of camaraderie and community and Golden tulip offers you just that and more. I would highly recommend for birthday dinner and family dinners.

This is a nice little four star hotel located in Westlands Nairobi .It is only a few minutes from Nairobi’s CBD so it’s easy to access in a few minutes by a car.I went to this hotel for an official meeting with a couple of my colleagues.I was doing a little part time job and we had chosen this place to have lunch. This place is mostly known for their accommodation services which are some of the best in Nairobi. We actually had our meals at the Tulip restaurant then we later went to sit at the rooftop restaurant that had a very beautiful view of the pool. On that day the office had fully funded our meal and we ordered our meals from their buffet menu and not the usual A’ la carte one.I had some beef,mashed potatoes ,lamb and vegetables from display.I also had dessert and what I picked was just different cakes.I do not particularly remember how much we spent as a group but when I glanced at the menu I felt like their prices are just slightly on the higher side.The food was also just fairly done.The taste was present but there was really nothing that stuck with me .The only thing to write home about was the ambiance that the whole place delivered especially from the rooftop.I also liked their cocktails and I felt like they hit right home. Their mixologist also contributed a lot to making my experience very memorable.He was so full of life and I can’t particularly remember his name because of how much the cocktails had hit but he was definitely the bomb.The service was also good and the food did not take a long time to get set up.The waiters were friendly and professional. They handled our whole group with so much care and with that to consider I’d definitely give them an A plus.
