Jiweke Tavern

Asa parent one of the things I look out for when searching for a place to do with family is a kids-friendly restaurant, where my kids can play and have fun and at the same time enjoy delicious meals. Hubby and I settled for Jiweke Tavern because we had been there previously and they serve amazing food at an affordable price Jiweke Tavern is located Off Ngong Rd Behind China Centre. Jiweke caters to the children as they have a trampoline, bouncing castle, and a large play area for your children so if you have a family don’t fret about what your children will be doing as you await your Choma or fry. We were craving dry fry and within minutes it was brought to our table with a friendly staff, perfectly done nyama that was so soft and tender that the kids were diving in. Can’t say enough about Jiweke Tavern! Very good and affordable food. The easiest restaurant to plan an event in. They allow cake without a corkage fee, lots of parking, Affordable drinks, and the food is tastefully prepared & served. The music policy is also great with themed nights throughout the week. If you want to enjoy this place with your family I recommend the morning hours or early afternoon when it’s not packed.

One of the most serene restaurants/clubs in Nairobi. It is located along Ngong road some 15 minutes from Nairobi CBD. A cab costs about kes 300. I was there some time back for late lunch with my partner. The space is amazing. The outside sitting area has well-manicured lawns and the air is fresh as compared to the busy city. That’s where we decided to sit and a waiter was on us before we even took our seats. Talk about fast service. I had fried rice with chicken biryani. It’s not the best I’ve had but decent. What we didn’t expect is how the place transforms at night. The party is too lit at jiweke. It gets packed at night so it’s better to come early. Even after finishing one bottle, I didn’t feel like leaving. One of the best places to party in Nairobi.
