WEST AFRICAN CUISINE IN NAIROBI
I bet most if not all food lovers and spicy food lovers have West African Cuisine on their cultural cuisine exploration list. Personally, I would love to visit Ghana, watch them prepare their meals from scratch and eat everything I can possibly get my hands on. For now, the nearest I can get to West African food is Mama Ashanti. Mama Ashanti is located at Lavington Nairobi, nestled in a large pleasant garden setting, engulfed wholly in chilled family and corporate meeting vibes. They have a wide range of starters, soups and grills all which are prepared using imported West African ingredients and spices, so each meal is cooked to order and freshly prepared. Mama Ashanti prepare Nigerian and Ghanaian home cooked meals with a modern twist at an affordable and reasonable price. FOOD: – (Price range from Kshs. 250 – Kshs.2000) 1. Whole Grilled Fish boneless (Kshs.1750) Fresh boneless tilapia fish marinated in Ashanti Sauce, charcoal grilled and served with fresh kachumbari. This was well cooked, juicy and perfectly marinated. 2. Quarter grilled chicken (Kshs. 800) marinated in Ashanti sauce then charcoal grilled served with kachumbari. 3.
