Really good outpatient services
Accessibility to health services is one of the things I look for whenever I move into a new neighbourhood, since you never know when your life might depend on them. So, am really happy that in the past few years the major hospitals in Kenya have been opening up branches all over the country to provide outpatient services. One of these hospitals is Mater hospital which opened a branch at Thika Road Mall, about a 12-minute drive from the Nairobi CBD. This branch offers a wide variety of medical services. Including laboratory services and a pharmacy. So, I was really happy when I was able to have all my medical needs met under one roof, when I recently fell sick and I was in need of all these services. A lot of clinics around don’t offer laboratory services and you often have to seek these services elsewhere and then return to the clinic to finish up on your medical consultation. This can become cumbersome, especially when you are sick. This branch accepts insurance which is really good. As some drugs and laboratory tests are quite expensive. The consultation fee is also quite affordable when compared to other major hospitals. When I was there, the line was long. However, I didn’t wait too long to see the doctor since the doctor and nurses were quite efficient at their jobs and worked quickly. The pharmacy was also well stocked and I got the medication I needed. I highly recommend this clinic if you are in need of outpatient medical services.
