MEDITERRANEO RISTORANTE

It is a restaurant located at Junction Mall. My friend and I visited Junction Mall and came across this fantastic Italian, and we are willing to try it out. At the entrance, we were accompanied by the waiter, given the menu, and showed us where to sit. After going through the menu, we are ready to order drinks (Sangria and Cocktail). The drink presentation was fantastic, and the taste was terrific. After a few minutes of enjoying our drinks, we ordered vegetable soup for a starter. It was fresh with a great aroma of different spices. Later we ordered our main meal. It was my wish to try Risotto for the first time. When I realized the restaurant had it on the menu, I decided to go for it. So we ordered prawn Risotto and poussin chicken wings with chips. I was happy and delighted with my food. It was very delicious with a fantastic combination of a different flavors. After finishing our meal and enjoying our drinks, my friend ordered dessert (Tiramisu and scopes of vanilla ice cream). We enjoyed the tiramisu, it was fresh, and the texture was great. It was the best dessert I have ever tasted. The experience we had at this Italian restaurant was beyond our expectations. The staff is very attentive and always available. I had a good time and will revisit the Italian restaurant.

This is the second time I have had the pleasure of eating at Mediterraneo located at the Junction. This time around my friends and I decided to take my sister to have a taste of homemade Italian pasta, we sat upstairs which typically is their rooftop! aah! the view is magnificent, you are able to see Ngong road from all corners, the breeze itself makes you want to stay longer as you watch people in the mall walking at the same time watch the variety of cars that drive-through. The service is fantastic – all staff is helpful, friendly and flexible – and they remember you from time to time. I adore seafood and decided to order the Seafood Starter. WOW! The presentation was amazing, the taste too! What a treat to eat Octopus in Nairobi! The smoked salmon stuffed with cream cheese and mango was an interesting flavor combination. We also ordered the Eggplant Parmigiana and the Beef Carpaccio as starters. Both delivered ample flavor and stayed true to what they are – Italian Classics. my sister since it was her first time I recommended Garlic Pasta in prawns, What a great choice I made for her as a beginner. As we waited for our orders we asked the waiter for fresh juice (be prepared to pay a lot of money if you are a wine person 🙂 their unique juice is made on order, I don’t know how they do it but there is something special about their tangerine Juice. It juggles your mouth like sparkling water, so fresh and so tasty. The service was good with the waiter responding promptly to our requests. All in all, we all had a great meal, which was well presented, tasty, and excellent value for money. Mediterraneo is what it says it is – An Italian Restaurant and a very good one at that! I’ll be back! I highly recommend this restaurant as it is friendly to families with kids.

I have come to understand why Italy is the home of pizza. I have tried several of their spots in Nairobi and the flavors are something else. Mediterraneo Ristorante is no exception. They might have the best pizza in town. They have 3 branches but the one I’ve been to is Gigiri because of its proximity to home. The decor takes you to a different place. The rustic looks with the photos and wine bottles on the walls come together perfectly. I took my lady for lunch. The staff was so welcoming. Offering us a glass of water beforehand then explaining the menu and giving some suggestions. It took some time to get ready but the wait was worth it. The smell tells you that you’re in for a treat. The pizza was so good. I didn’t like the olives which I ended up handpicking out of the pizza. The intimacy of the spot is like no other. Perfect spot for dates.

Meditteraneo is an Italian restaurant with around 3 branches in Nairobi. There’s one in Junction Mall,another one in Westlands 9west building and the last branch is located in Gigiri. It prides itself in allowing you to take a walk through several Italian delicacies,served with the utmost dedication. They also offer a variety of Italian wines and the cooking employs some of the native Italian cooking styles. The styling on the interior space is also tailored to give the perfect Italian dining experience. I went to the branch in Westlands 9 West and it has recently been renovated I’m yet to see how it looks now.I ordered one of their many Italian Pizzas called Quattro stagioni that was priced at 1,450kshs. It had tomato sauce, home made mozzarella cheese,cooked ham, fresh white mushrooms,artichokes and olives.My mouth was literally full of flavour and more flavour. It was exceptionally done.The only thing I didn’t like was the olives in it . We also ordered the Double calzone “Vesuvio” pizza .It was priced at 1,450kshs. It’s essentially a stuffed double pizza with tomato sauce, homemade mozzarella cheese, taleggio, artichokes and cooked ham. Italian cuisine became a favourite of mine because of Meditteraneo.I really want to try their pasta because I have a feeling I’d be so impressed I’d have to officially move my things and live there. I also had their cocktails and they were around 900kshs.If you love Italian, definitely a 5/5.
