Artistic dining experience.

The collective restaurant and art gallery is one of the most unique spaces I’ve been to. Having your dinner surrounded by art is a beautiful experience. This restaurant will definitely be a favorite of any art lover. I loved that most if not all of the artwork here were from Africa. The place is quite spacious and all the table arrangements are perfect for intimate dinners. The ambiance was the best part. I have never been surrounded by so much art in my life. The food was amazing. I had the chicken curry that was KES1350 and my partner had the slow-cooked beef ribs that were KES1500. I think the ambiance makes the food taste better. I had some beer to go with the food while she enjoyed some wine. We then had the tiramisu for dessert before we took some time to appreciate the art. It was a perfect evening.

Nairobi’s art scene is composed of very talented artists, especially on canvas. The collective restaurant showcases art from different artists in Nairobi, in their hallways and dining areas. When you walk in, you might think you might be lost at first because the restaurant looks exactly like an art gallery. Numerous paintings garnish their walls giving you a luxurious dining experience. The restaurant is a hub for creatives to meet other creative individuals while enjoying many forms of art such as stand up comedy and many canvas and oil paintings . I typically don’t know a lot about art but I enjoyed the lovely ambience and stunning decor. The restaurant’s dining area is dimly lit which is perfectly for a romantic dinner and conversation. Any new person visiting Nairobi would love it here as it is a good representation of local talent. The setting caters for everything, dinner dates, evening chills and meetings. I particularly loved their cocktails and the food was very delicious , would highly recommend their Hydrabad mutton biryani. If you love art and food you would definitely fall in love with The Collective! Their customer service is top notch and they make you really feel awesome. As for the price it’s moderately higher but totally worth it. I would definitely go back to this place.

Picture this, you walk into a random restaurant you looked up online and decided to give a try. On arrival, you’re confused as to whether you’re in the right place because it looks like an art gallery. Someone walks up to you and affirms that you are indeed in the right place and asks you if you have any personalized requests. You’re overwhelmed. You eventually sit down and order a cocktail and before you even take your first sip, someone introduces themselves as a stand up comedian and is absolutely hilarious. There is so much laughter in the room, you can almost miss a joke because it just won’t die down. You’re silently wondering whether this place is even real and if so where it has been all your life. This was my first time experience at the Collective. Such a mind blowing experience! A lot of warm energy, laughter and good vibes and as an artsy person, the diverse art pieces there made me feel like I had just discovered the coolest joint where art was alive. I was only there for happy hour and I can therefore not make a commentary on the food. The prices are however moderately high as I observed from the menu online. Perhaps the best place for a friendly drink up during happy hour if you’re not looking to spend a lot. But I will definitely be back.

This restaurant was a pleasant surprise for me . They are very few chic restaurants in Nairobi CBD and when I discovered this location I was very grateful. It’s located along utalii street and it took quite a while to locate it probably because it was my first time. I haven’t necessarily dined here but that one stop left me utterly impressed. I met a friend here to catch up after a long time over a cup of iced coffee. On entry the opening passage is not that appealing but the further you go, the better it becomes. This restaurant actually doubles as an art gallery and immediately you enter the main space what welcomes you is art and more art. The collection of the art from their gallery is mostly African. They feature different local artists for a period of time and showcase some of their best pieces. I don’t know much about art but from the way those paintings were looking I think the artist would say the brushwork was well done. Because I’m just a layman in my simple language I think they were quite beautiful. The presentation was so artistic and the soft lighting gave it a whole calm vibe. The different paintings added so much color and warmth I absolutely fell in love.Their ice coffee was really really good. It was perfectly chilled with just the right amount of coffee and milk. I had about three and I couldn’t get enough. Another thing I loved about this restaurant is the place is very quiet and spacious during the day making it perfect for official or general interactions that need a lot of conversations. The waiters were also friendly and the service was excellent. The only thing I ordered was iced coffee and this is generally cheap in all restaurants I can’t really talk extensively about the pricing.
