Of the many restaurants that serve good food in Westgate Mall, The Grill Shack is one of them and is smack in the middle of the ground floor, it’s known for its amazing burgers and retro ambiance. Many times the restaurant can be fully packed, making it a little congested which is a good thing for them, but this time we were happy it wasn’t overly packed. Being in the middle of the mall, one can pop in for a quick snack or sit down for a three-course dinner. The Grill shack has an open-style kitchen that allows diners to feast their eyes and enjoy the theatre of the kitchen. I like the fact that the staff is very friendly and is open to inquiries without making you feel like you’re wasting their time. We then had Lamb chops. Trust me won’t find anything that compares to their Lamb chops in Nairobi… I give them 10/10. While at it if you can, make a point of trying out their burgers, I mean The Grill is known for its mouth-watering and cheesy burgers. Being in a restaurant where everyone is there for the burgers and no one cares about a salad and calories is something, unless you are not a burger person. Juices and soft drinks were also available. Halfway through the meal, we were served a strong ginger drink, that came with a stick of sugarcane to stir it with. Looking forward to going back and trying different meals.

The Grill Shack is a restaurant offering a mainly meaty menu of steaks, ribs, and burgers. The restaurant is located On the ground floor at Westgate shopping mall, Westland, Nairobi. The restaurant has an open-style kitchen that presents something only one of its kind. Its food court setting allows guests to watch as the food is prepared. I went there for a quick lunch, and I really enjoyed every bit of it. I ordered grilled steak with house salad. The food was well marinated, and the presentation was impressive. The steak was nicely done and was very soft, which I enjoyed. The price is also affordable. Anyone visiting the mall might need to try the grill shack restaurant. We received exceptional service, and we will definitely be back again. They made us feel welcomed and gave us a fantastic experience.

This is an amazing spot in Westgate shopping mall. It’s also recently opened making it a great place to experience something new. Westgate is about 30 minutes from Nairobi CBD and a cab costs kes 300. I was at The Grill Shack recently with my partner. I didn’t know what to expect but it was a wonderful surprise. The place is so well designed. It has an urban feel. So much light and the decor is rustic. It’s one of those places you want to go on dates over and over again. What I was eager for were their pork ribs which I’ve heard a lot of praises about. The cost kes 1400 and I had that with a beer. To be honest, it wasn’t the best I’ve had but I have to hand it to them for the great service and the food presentation. A must-visit.

If you love meat , highly endowed in flavour: welcome to your paradise . It’s a modern restuarant recently opened in Westgate shopping mall.The decor is very aesthetically pleasing and somewhat rustic: absolutely perfect for a first date. It’s a restuarant which judging from the name alone majorly focuses on all things meat: steaks, ribs ,burgers you just name it. Personally I’m not usually heavy on meat or rather anything meaty but I still felt some of what we ate was exceptionally done. First we had chicken wings for a starter and my answer in YES! Make sure you try these on your visit. An absolute must. We then ordered the Pork ribs – Kshs 1,400.These pork ribs were amazing . It was well done for me but if you prefer medium or rare you could also get that .The sauce which was a sweet vinegar barbeque sauce made the ribs so tasty I couldn’t get enough.But you have to know eating delicious ribs is never pretty and occasionally messy but I still ordered another serving for take away . We also ordered burgers which came with a side of fries.I have to admit the burger was just alright not exactly exceptionally done.We also had mocktails which were around 700 shillings and they were an absolute bliss. Some of the favourite mocktails I’ve had in Nairobi. Definitely rate it 4/5.
