Perfect pork but the rained ruined the day

This small restaurant on Limuru road makes the best pork in town hands down. The restaurant has a variety of pork recipes to choose from. Being a group we decided to try out several different meals. My favorite ones were the kochokocho which was KES570 for 500g, honey, and soy which was KES650 for 500g, and the pork choma which was KES500 for 500g. There was also a pork wrap that was going for KES300 that I loved. I have never eaten so much pork in my life. We had these with the side of chips masala, chips, and ugali. The food was really good. Best pork for sure. Their service was also great. However, the sitting space was crowded and when it rained we had to move spaces which slightly ruined the entire experience. I’d advise getting take out. Otherwise, 10/10 recommend their pork.

Best mouthwatering pork dishes

Roast N Chops Porkpit Ruaka has become a personal favorite when it comes to satisfying my pork cravings. It is located in the Ruaka CBD directly opposite Quickmart Ruaka. Porkpit is a bit off town so if you’re looking for a hangout joint out of town, this is definitely the place. If you’re using public transport, matatus (route 48) to Ruaka are taken at the Odeon stage and it takes around 25 to 30 minutes to get there. Their menu is budget friendly with their most expensive meal usually a platter for two going for Ksh 2800. The place isn’t thaaat huge but it is almost always packed. I have been there twice now and their food is so yummy, their pork wet fry which is a person favourite is a must try. Their pork alfredo, a dish I found quite unique is also a great choice and very tasty too. They also take orders for delivery for people outside town so you don’t have to worry about having to go all the way to Ruaka, you can actually enjoy their tasty food at the comfort of your home or office. The only downside about the place is the spacing inside , when packed I felt the place a bit crowded and their services an 8/10 since I had to wait for quite while before my order arrived. I do think they should open a branch in Nairobi for people who would like a dine-in experience and don’t can’t get a chance to go all the way to Ruaka because who wouldn’t flood there every weekend for just a crumb of their finger-licking pork.

Yummiest pork, fried to perfection!

The restaurant is located in Ruaka Town and is quite famous among Nairobi residents for its pork delicacy. It is certainly worth the half-hour drive from Nairobi, without traffic if lucky. The interior decor is simple and can easily pass for an ordinary fast-food place. The food certainly speaks for itself. The ambience is not all that but has great rustic decor. There is plenty of tap water and hand soap as well as paper towels around which is very reassuring that they uphold hygiene. Their Piri Piri pork and honey soy was extremely scrumptious . The pork was very well spiced with liberal chunks of onion which really brought out the flavor. The pork comes with several side options with the most popular one being ugali, a local delicacy. The service was fast- about 15-minute wait time. The payment options are varied; visa card, M-pesa or cash which is very convenient. The prices are pocket friendly and the joint is very close to Two Rivers shopping mall hence a cheaper option for shopping after lunch. I would absolutely recommend this joint for pork lovers.

Delicacies that are a must try!

I have been looking for a place with a variety of preparations of pork and this is the place if you love it like I do! The pork pit is a moderately small restaurant located in Ruaka on Limuru road that I was able to visit just before the lockdown with a few friends. The ambiance is just fine and well arranged. On arrival, we opted to sit and the lower end of the place which was more spacious. The menu is written on a board in different chalk colors…….I actually found it quite cute. We ordered for a variety of options! The pork is served according to grams or kilograms depending on what you would like to purchase and this is what determines the prices. We each ordered the 350gms because more than that seemed too much for us. I ordered for the honey soy and gosh it was really amazing. My friends ordered for the kochokocho, dry fry and the pork wrap all of which were accompanied with fries. But they have a variety of other accompaniments like ugali, mukimo, bhagia, plantains, etc. I loved that our orders were brought at the same time and the waitress was really nice at our service the whole time. Our whole order cost us ksh2000 which was really affordable and worth it. The pork was in adequate amounts that we got so satisfied. None of us left unsatisfied with their services and pork. I will definitely go back for the honey soy pork!! The pork pit also serves chicken so you should not leave behind that friend who doesn’t eat pork because they will have something to eat too. During this pandemic you can also order in since they also do deliveries. Trust me it is a must try. You can thank me later.
