Boba Caffe

Having done research Bubble Tea also known as Boba seems to really be the only place in Nairobi to get boba tea. Boba Caffe is in the CBD of Koinange Street, Gigiri and Sarit Centre. I’ve tried out a lot of flavours since I first found out about boba and I can’t stress enough how delicious and comforting this cold drink is. I often have it with 0% sugar because I find the flavours sweet enough as is. I like my tea with an extra scoop of boba. We ordered mint green tea and strawberry black tea which was recommended by the attendant.We found the two flavors really nice since it was our firdt time trying them. since the caffe was not crouded the service is really really fast. Boba is made from tapioca starch, also known as cassava starch, which is why they’re often also labeled as tapioca pearls. They’re small spheres that are often simmered in a brown sugar syrup to give them a sweet taste and dark black color. Boba is practically tasteless, making it easy to pair with a variety of drinks. There are also popping boba varieties, which are often colorful and filled with fruit-flavored syrups. Here at Sarit their sitting area is very clean,actually you can even have a small meeting as you enjoy your tea.

My friend and I have been in this cafe a few times recently and are very impressed with the drinks and service, the drinks are perfectly done, and the service from the staff is excellent. We arrived at the cafe late in the day and were very hungry! We were very well treated. Thank you to all staff. I think there may be a wait at peak times, but this cafe is excellent overall.

My oh my!! If you haven’t tried any of their bubble tea and refreshers, I think it’s time you treat yourself. They are located in town Koinange street, same street as CJs just a block apart. It’s a tiny cute space…..nothing fancy, a mirror and 3 high stools for you to enjoy your drink there. Prices are very friendly ranging between Ksh.240-470. I’ve been here twice…..and this time I had to take photos so I could post here….I like to post directly in my insta stories. My favorite is the Passion fruit Ade (240/= regular 300/= large). So so refreshing, cold and it’s my go to whenever it’s hot in this Nairobi. They will ask you how you’d prefer it in terms of sweetness and how cold you want it to be. I like it at 40% sweet with kidogo ice cubes so my drink doesn’t get too watered down. I forgot the name of the lady who served me but she is very kind and friendly….she will assist you if you don’t know what to choose. Her recommendation is always on point. I’ve also tried their Caramel milk tea (350/= regular 430/= large). I asked them to warm it a bit since I don’t like cold milk 😅 If you like it cold, no problem, they will also sort you. The Tapioca Boba pearls at the bottom as so soft and chewy…kinda like eating gummy bears and they taste coffee/caramelish. I find myself finishing them faster than my drink😁. They provide a straw large enough for the pearls to pass through. Don’t go alone, bring a friend or two so you can enjoy the bubble tea
