Cleanshelf Supermarket

This is the most recent supermarket in Nakuru. I thought it was totally new, but after some research, I found out that they’ve had stores in Nairobi and this is just their first branch in Nakuru. The store is located within the CBD (next to Woolmatt) where Naivas was before they moved to Westside mall. Being in the CBD, parking is a big issue and most of the time, you’ll have to circle the area a few times or park some distance from the store. This can be an issue if you’re shopping is bulky. A hack you can try is to park on the street behind the main entrance. They have two entrances, one at the front and the other at the back. The two entrances and exits also come in handy in reducing congestion at whichever counter you choose. As the name suggests, their setup is simple and clean. You know the feeling of shopping at a new store and everything looks clean, that’s how Cleanshelf is. It feels like a breath of fresh air from the norm of the existing supermarkets. I had a chance to try a donut from their bakery and I was mind blown. Just the right amount of sugar and chocolate. I hope it doesn’t change over time. I’ve seen in many supermarkets that when the number of customers increases, the quality suffers. They have all the necessities on the ground floor while electronics, furniture, and clothes are on the first floor. The staff is very helpful especially since it’s a new space and you don’t know where most things are. I like that new stores are coming up in Nakuru. I hope to see more of that.
