Garden City

The Garden City mall is among Kenya’s top five most visited malls. It is the county’s premier shopping, dining, and entertainment destination. The Mall is located between Exit 8 on Thika Road and is only 15 minutes drive from Nairobi’s CBD. It accommodates over 150 store outlets covering 20,000 square feet of office space and parking. Garden City is home to 215 homeowners and residential occupants enjoying private access to the fully equipped gym, heated swimming pool, and clubhouse, and the convenience of living alongside a booming mall with over 100 shops, a range of popular restaurants, bars, and cafes, and East Africa’s largest Imax cinema. I visited the Mall for a meeting and liked everything about it. The shop and the restaurant in the Mall are well kept and clean. The parking space is vast, giving you an easy way to park, the security system of the Mall is highly maintained and of a high standard with 24hr CCTV.

Nestled within a 47-acre mixed-use development between exit 7 and 8 along Thika Highway, a short drive from Nairobi’s central business district and with easy access to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Garden City, Kenya’s first integrated shopping, residential, and office space into one joint development ingeniously blending work, home, and leisure activities. Garden City officially opened in May 2015, and I remember I was among of the first visitors to enjoy all the goodies that come with a grand opening. Then there were few stores in operation Bata and Kfc being among them… at least then we were able to eat and shop for shoes. With more than 100 plus shops, including the first Game (South African) store in Kenya, Tile & Carpet, Victoria Courts, and a range of cafés and restaurants. Garden City Malll also We hosts hundreds of popular family events and activities each year. They are one of the only malls in Nairobi with a 3-acre central park, which is perfect for kids to run around, in and a Kid’s Playground and Water Playpark on tap!… this is one of the many reasons why I love Grden City,I know my kids can never be bored, while we are shopping we can leave them behind to enjoy themselves.

At IMAX on the first floor of the mall, I had a wonderful experience. The snacks are very much affordable.

The first time I visited Garden City Mall which is located along Thika road was when my brother dragged me from the house to go see a movie at IMAX on the first floor of the mall. The mall is huge with several businesses operating within such as Optica, Java, KFC, Art Caffe, Creamy Inn. The mall has ample parking space too. The mall is ideal for kids as well as there are a lot of gaming and outdoor activities like the bouncing castle. This place is a great place to visit with friends and explore different areas of the mall as well as try different food/snack options at the various cafes.

Garden city shopping mall is one of the best malls in the country. Starting from it’s services, communication, quality, premises and products. I love how the mall looks beatifull from just the view and also the services you get inside the mall. The playground is the best place where kids enjoy and have fun doing all kind of games.you should not miss visiting Garden city shopping mall if you need a good experience and services.

Garden City mall is one of the two famous malls among residents living anywhere between Thika and Nairobi since its convenient location saves people unnecessary trips into Nairobi town. The mall is quite huge and its attractive, colourful storey building visible from afar. The mall has two entrance points; one out front facing the highway and the other on the right wall end of the mall used by anyone coming in with a vehicle. At the gate entrance is a checkpoint where the guard at the gate requests one to remove ones bag or anything one could be carrying and place it on a counter and walkthrough a beeping machine to ensure one is eligible for entry. This happens twice since the same process is repeated again at the mall’s main entrance to ensure maximum safety. The building is well structured with huge store space for each store, at the centre of the mall on the the groundfloor is a blueprint 3D model of the Garden City Mall building and grounds surrounded by a glass casing. My best stores in the mall are Java who have their restaurant on the groundfloor, I often grab some coffee and a slice of their delicious salted caramel cake on Friday afternoons as I try beat deadlines and get my work done . Another all time fave of mine here is IMAX movies who have their movie stall up on the first floor. They give the best student deals on Thursdays where you can watch a 3D movie for only $5 inclusive of salted popcorn! The mall also houses other numerous businesses like Bata Kenya, the Game supermarket, Woolworths, Vivo women, Big Square, Chicken Inn, Creamy inn , KFC, Mac and Planet Yoghurt . The mall has very good facilities like washrooms and lifts designed specially for anyone physically disabled or on a wheelchair. The mall grounds have a beautiful lawn where one can just chill and enjoy sun in the beautiful breeze. However I was back there at the beginning of this year and its former lash green look has turned brown and eroded which is quite a bummer so one ends up sitting on the benches nearby. There is a great play area for kids therefore a great place for a fun day out with your kids since they even have a bouncing castle and water fountain play area. The mall also has ample safe parking space with no interferance which is a plus. There is something for everyone here so catch the next bus here on your way into the city and maybe the stop will save you a trip or two!

Garden City Mall is the second largest mall in Kenya after Two rivers. Having close to 100 stores, you’ll find all that you are looking for here. They have strict security checkpoints starting from the gate. They have ample parking at the grounds and on the rooftop at a fee of KES50. The stores here are very diversified. You’ll find numerous restaurants to choose from depending on your taste from Java to Galitos. There are also many clothing stores from Levis to Mr Price. You can also bring the kids to Toy world and Textbook center. There are also out door gaming activities for kids like slides and swings. My favorite part of the mall is the IMAX studios. The movie experience there is mind blowing. There also the only mall with Game shopping center and Shoprite. This is definitely that place you get all the thing you need done.

Garden City mall is home to more than 80 stores. With a variety of restaurants, supermarkets, pharmacies, clothing stores and outdoor activities for children. I usually frequent this mall because it’s in my area. I get everything under one roof. The stores are very diverse and you will always get what you are looking for. I really love their restaurants with my favourite being mambo italia. I also frequent the IMAX here. This one is a favourite of mine. Garden city is also home of shoprite and game. The stores are fully stocked. Their clothing stores are great too, I particularly like Mr. Price. Garden city mall also offers parking on the site at a fee. The place u
is quite large so you’ll never miss parking space even on a very busy day. The also have offices and apartments in the area. It is the first integrated mall in Kenya with both residential and retail.
