Medina Palms – a brand new property setting a whole new benchmark for luxury and exclusivity on the Kenyan coast. Located on 7 acres of prime seafront land with its own private beach area, and leading onto the palm-fringed powder white sands and crystal clear waters of Watamu Beach and the surrounding protected Watamu Marine National Park, Medina Palms offers luxury accommodation in a 5 star setting.
Medina Palms’ architecture follows the lines of a Moroccan medina with a waterway running through the entire property from the entrance, through the Medina and Palmerie areas down towards the ocean. Accommodation is in a choice of 1 or 2 bedroomed suites, 2-bedroomed Penthouses or 3-bedroomed Ocean Lodges – all of which have separate living areas and kitchens. Penthouses and Ocean Lodges also have private rooftop terraces with plunge pools. Medina Palms also offers Luxury Beach Villas which are ideal for families or groups of friends ranging from 3 to 4 bedrooms including separate living area, kitchen and roof top terrace with plunge pool.
On site guest facilities include Amandina a’ la carte restaurant, a tapas bar, a tree-top star lounge, and a shady coffee garden. The Sakina Ocean Spa offers 4 treatment rooms and an aqua spa treatment room and our Medina Children’s Club is a welcome addition to our extensive facilities.
Activities on offer include paddle boarding, scuba diving, snorkelling, sailing and deep sea sport fishing (tag and release) as well as a kite surfing school, sunset dhow cruises, dolphin spotting and safaris to Tsavo East National Park.

There’s not enough words to describe how beautiful this place is….it is literally out of this world ❤ it’s a little slice of heaven on earth..so so magical…me and my family visited last year for my husband’s birthday. We had booked the flight 3months before bcz they can be costly..so one way was 14k (2adults 3 children). The flight is 2hrs long bcz they have to stop over Lamu then proceed to Malindi. From Malindi it’s a 30min drive to Watamu. We took a taxi that cost us 1800/= On arrival we were welcomed with refreshments and I love how fast check in was literally in 5min we were done and taken to our rooms. We had booked the penthouse suite on half board..which was very breathtaking with spectacular views and best part is that it comes with a plunge pool. Dinner was amazing..it was fresh, hot well seasoned food bcz they don’t do buffet it’s a’la carte menu( you order they make for you). Price range is ksh.800-3000 which was fair. All I would eat through out my stay was their grilled seafood platter served with roast potatoes and tartar sauce 😋juu i was fed up with all the meat I was eating in Nairobi 😁 plus it was sooooo good 🤤 I only ate lamb chops once.. the kids had many options on what to eat and they tried everything from their menu. Breakfast is the only time they offer buffet and let’s just say they have such a wide range of options you’d be confused on what to pick. I love that there’s so many activities one can do while in Medina..we went snokerling, dolphin watching, paddle boarding and the sunset dhow cruise. Activity fee ranges from 1k-4k. When we wanted our alone time with hubby, we would leave the kids at Nemos cave.(kids center). They had nanny’s and we paid 500/= for the 6hrs. This gave us time to get a massage at Sakina spa and visit the famous Lichthaus so we could at least take photos and enjoy sun downers. I would recommend you go early or call in advance so you can book a spot bcz the place gets very busy and take a tuk tuk (200/=)bcz the hotel taxi is very pricey. Did I mention they bake a cake on request..i had ordered a vanilla chocolate cake with caramel filling covered in coffee chocolate ganache and they delivered to a T. They even gave us a bottle to celebrate on the house🥳Overall the staff is very friendly, food is 10/10 Cleanliness 10/10. The only downside is you really have to save up to enjoy this luxurious 5-star hotel 😅 bcz it don’t come cheap 🙈 but I would do it all over again just to enjoy this prestigious beauty..the hotel is as exactly as you see it in the photos. I 1000% recommend 👌 dont forget to take countless photos and videos 😃carry enough mosquitoe repellent and sunscreen ❤
