Sunday afternoons are for their nyama choma.
This is a favorite spot for travelers considering it’s among the first restaurant you meet when you get to Nakuru. It’s right next to the highway which adds to its convenience. For the residents of Nakuru, it offers some of the best nyama choma around. It’s is located some 20 minutes from Nakuru CBD and a cab costs about kes 400. I have been there a couple of times with my folks on Sunday afternoon after church. It’s usually packed at that time but it’s because of their nyama choma. The prices are fair and they serve huge portions. The meat is soft and well marinated served with kachumbari and either ugali or fries. I find the staff very pleasant and they are keen to know how your food tastes or whether you need water. They are always moving around so you get helped almost immediately. It’s a great spot.
