Java House, commonly referred to as ‘Nairobi Java’, opened its first store in 1999 at Adam’s Arcade in Nairobi. With the aim of introducing gourmet coffee drinking culture in Kenya, the first outlet was a coffee shop and later the brand evolved to an American diner style restaurant to its present-day status as a 3 -day part coffee-led, casual dining concept.

Java House is now one of the leading coffee brands in Africa and has grown to have outlets in 14 cities across 3 countries in East Africa (Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda). It has also birthed two sister brands Planet Yoghurt, a healthy, tasty and fun frozen yogurt store and 360 Degrees Pizza, a casual dining restaurant.

“Welcome to Java. A home away from home”

Our coffee houses would not be what they are without the effort, commitment, and passion of the Java House team who make sure each branch is a place where everyone feels at home. Quality and professionalism are deeply rooted in our culture and we ensure that every cup poured and every plate served is a reflection of our promise of offering only the best.

Great Customer Service

5/ 5

Java House is one of Kenya’s most visited coffee houses, having numerous branches in Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, Naivasha, Nakuru, and Nanyuki. I have been to the one in koinange, and it’s great. This charming place is located at Uniafric House CBD, Nairobi, Kenya. We came here on a Sunday and had a lovely experience. The staff was friendly and kind, and the coffee and milkshake were delicious. The place is nicely decorated and has a calm vibe here. I tried the mocha shake, and it was thick and mouthwatering. I’d come back here.

When you hear the word Java you might think it’s just about coffee and breakfast things but no., Java has a variety of things on their menu . You can have breakfast at Java you can have lunch there and you can also have dinner at Java so you see it’s not all about Espresso, chocolate or tea. This specific Java I had my espresso for breakfast and burritos I was trying out new things I loved it there. My breakfast burrito was egg and cheese it had my favorite avocado in it and it was yummy. Because I enjoyed the breakfast I went for lunch pia the same day. I love chicken wings and ordered those spicy wings and fries. The good thing you is that the attendants or staff are there when you need them. Java again is well spaced it’s neat. You can pick your corner in the evening order some tea and just chill and vibe to the ambience. I love the color they choose for Java. I’d love to go back and get that espresso it was good

Good food and budged friendly

Java is what one may describe as a diner. They know what they are and they do it well. The food is consistent in all the brunches I have been to Westgate Mall, Junction, Adams Arwing Khodhk, Mama Ngina, Upperhill Yaya Centre, Kimathi Street, Galeria Mall Abc Place. and good with proper portions. The service is what one would expect at a diner, friendly but somewhat slow. The coffee continues to be excellent and they have now added Rwandan coffee to the menu. The staff continues to be kind and friendly. Java has always been my good place to catch up with friends and to have short meetings. I have been privileged to try everything in their menu of course not at a go, but in different branches. The ambiance and the smell of brewed coffee are what I love anytime I am walking into Java. Most recently I had the vanilla latte with the chocolate chip cookie I never regret it! I like it when you order a Double cappuccino, it’s accompanied by loved heart-shaped biscuits, something you don’t find anywhere else but in Java! Unfortunately, the news of people stealing bags at Java is surprisingly very common, my friends and I have been warned by Java staff in different branches not to hang our bangs on the side of the chair, instead keep it where we can see. An overall good place to be with my friends!

Coffee house with great customer service

Java House is one of the most frequented coffee houses in Kenya having numerous branches in not only Nairobi but also other towns like Naivasha, Nakuru, Kisumu, Nanyuki and Mombasa. Being one of the oldest coffee houses in Kenya marking around 21 years now, Java has earned the trust and popularity among many Kenyan citizens. So far, I have gotten a chance to visit their Garden City Mall, Koinange Street, Lavington and Naivasha town branch but really like the Lavington one most. Their Koinange Street branch is bit tiny and more squeezed than the rest so having ample space and distance between tables is minimal. Also, due to the crammed up space therefore less tables, one has to share tables with strangers at this Koinange branch making privacy impossible. This is why its my least favorite Java branch. The common thing about the Java outlets I’ve visited so far is the art-themed interior with African paintings and artistic portraits on their walls making the place look more beautiful and lively. My best thing about Java house is their lovely delicious milkshakes and fresh pastries. Their croissants and strawberry mirror cake are a must try. Besides coffee and breakfast, Java also has a great lunch/dinner menu. Their salads, grilled chicken burger and BBQ chicken are my personal favourites. Their staff is really friendly and really efficient so customer service here is really great. It is a great place to just chill on evenings as you sip a cup of their really good coffee and maybe get work done especially their Garden City branch which even on a busy say is reasonably quiet and gives me a chance to beat my end-week deadlines with minimal disturbance.

The first time I went to java was a long time ago. This has been a local joint to have business meetings, dates or group of friends chilling. Their ambience is beautiful with all the branches all over east africa looking the same. The standard of food is also the same everywhere. Their service is very good and you will not wait for more than 15 minutes for your food. Their waiters are very polite too. I mostly have the mushroom fillet steak with a side of fries that costs 1100KES with a lemonade which is 210KES. Their chocolate fudge cake is the truth!! I’ve gotten this cake for my birthday numerous times and it doesn’t disappoint. Their shakes are also really good with my friends favorite being the salted caramel milkshake. The food is very tasty. The prices are quite affordable. You can order in from home

For the lovers of quality coffee

Java House is arguably the most famous coffee house in Kenya, with branches all over the country, and in almost every mall. Their coffee houses are always a short drive away. And for lovers of this brand the convenience is one of their major allures. Recently when I was in Naivasha on holiday, I was happy to find one at a local mall, Buffalo Mall Naivasha. I was frankly surprised, since I hadn’t known they had expanded into smaller towns. So, I decided to try it out since I hadn’t had any of their smoothies in a while, and seeing the shop gave me a craving. I was happy that the quality of the smoothie was the same as in their shops around Nairobi. Consistency is important in any restaurant chain and am glad Java have it. The coffee shop was also clean and the décor was really good, which is consistent with all other Javas around Nairobi. Java haven’t dropped their quality just because they have expanded, and I commend them for that. Their prices were the same with other branches. I ordered two smoothies, Strawberry Splash and Tropical Mix, each at KSh380, and chips masala at KSh370. Their prices are usually high, but since they have good service, fast Wi-Fi and a really good atmosphere, their prices are justifiable. Their customer service is also always top notch. I highly recommend this brand.

Cute Café. Great meals and even greater ambiance.

It’s a nice little cafe. It has so many branches all around the country and I’ve visited a few branches. To me Java is mostly a quick drop by location when my friends randomly wanna meet up or I want to have a random impromptu official meeting, this is my go to place. It’s either because the food is relatively affordable or because the locations are usually so convenient;make your pick. I promise you wherever you are there is probably a Java around. Their space is nice and cosy with very simple decor. I like how most of their branches have very neutral and calm colours. It gives off a whole homey feeling. It essentially gives life to their mantra when you come to Java you come home.I’ve had alot of meals here and like I said it’s always grab and go.Their coffee which is one of their specialties is always perfect.Never disappoints me any time. They also have really good milkshakes which are usually so creamy and yummy.Yummy all the way to my tummy. Their prices are very very affordable and for a filling meal here you don’t have spend so much money. Around 2000/=is enough for you to eat to your fill. Their portions are very fair and I’ve never once complained about being served too little. I’ve had their beef burger twice and I didn’t like them that much . Filling they were but there was barely any taste I’m grateful I was very hungry . Both times it was the beef bacon cheeseburger and it was 900/=. Another one of my favorite things about java is that for three years in a row now they’ve had a 50% off deal on their cakes and ice creams on Valentines day; something I’m always looking forward to.On occasions when I don’t have a date, it’s nice little treat for myself and when I do have a date’ it’s a nice little end to a perfect day.

Always a goodtime at java

If you have ever wanted to have a business meeting, a date, some silence to do some work or meeting a friend, then you most likely have gone to java. This branch in particular is at a very busy street but guess what, once you walk into java, all the noise dies off and you are welcomed by such ambience and delicious smells. The decor is similar among all java branches but it never gets old. The rustic look, paintings on all the walls, standalone tables and booths. Whatever you taste is, best believe java has already met it beforehand. I usually sit in the booths. The feel more private and if I have a date, the booth feels accommodating. It’s usually super cozy. Now, when it comes to the menu, you need to try a number of things to know what you like. The good news is, you might like a lot of things. Personally, I like the chocolate fudge cake which goes for 370/= and croissant which goes for 220/= whenever I’m having coffee. When I want a heavy meal, I go for the fries with grilled chicken which goes for about 800/=. I also normally get the mushroom steak which never disappoints. The waiters are always smiling and the service is top notch. I frequent this particular brunch right before a night out. Java prides itself in being the same wherever you go and I think this is why I like it. It feels familiar no matter where I am.
