Jomo Kenyatta University is among one of the top universities in Kenya and is located in the heart of Juja, Kiambu County. The university is well-known for offering high quality education and great contribution to the betterment of the country as a whole through its innovative research projects. Jkuat is a hub for research and gives its students opportunities to venture into their area of interest thus giving a chance for their young minds to be movers and shakers of the society intergrating learning from a problem solving and prevention approach. Jkuat University has great facilities including their huge library, huge olympic size pool , well equipped labs with up to date technology. The university hospital known as Jkuat hospital has qualified staff and offers a wide range of health services to both Jkuat students and residents of Juja town. The university is situated in a beautiful serene environment suitable for learning with parks within the school where students can do group discussions and personal reading in between classes. The benches here in the parks for instance Cherry Park have sockets so one can charge his or her phone/laptop. The parks are Wi-Fi enabled therefore a great place to just relax and do research on assignments too. A unique feature about Jkuat University is that it is one of the few universities that houses another university within its walls. Jomo Kenyatta University houses the well built campuses of the Pan Africa Union Institute of Basic Sciences Technology and Innovation (PAUSTI) which is a institute branch of the Pan Africa University. The convenient location of the KCB bank which is just near the school main entrance makes it easier for students to do money transactions and pay fees directly into the school account without the hustle of having to go search for bank agents. The great academic achievements of the university make it a great place to acquire higher learning for students both within and outside the country as it has numerous exchange programs even with its campus in Rwanda.

Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, popularly known as JKUAT is a public university located along Thika Road in Juja. A matatu from town is usually KES80. The university offers many courses but is renowned for Computer Science. It is a university that gets a lot of enrolments. The last time I was here, I took my friend to apply for their Engineering course. The school is well maintained with nicely manicured lawns. They have a mandatory security check before entering the school premises. They also have a number of guards doing patrol within the school. They offer hostels to students who prefer to stay within the school. Their graduates are highly sorted for due to the good quality of education they offer. . The secretaries at the front office were also quite friendly and helped in directing us to the required offices. The school sits on a huge parcel of land plus they have a huge library. The town around the school has numerous apartments that are affordable to most of the students. There are also many cafes and recreational centers around.

Quality and modern learning at this Kenyan University.

Currently being in my fourth year of study in JKUAT university, I must say my learning experience here has been nothing less than awesome and eye-opening and educative at the same time since i came here back in 2016. The learning environment here has given me a chance to open up my mind to new opportunities and experiences as I learn. The Jkuat University main campus is located along the Thika highway at a town called Juja, Kiambu County Kenya. Jkuat is a public university well-known for its quality education in technology and agriculture-related courses. However, the university has numerous colleges that offer diverse prestigious courses in Health Sciences, Agriculture and Natural Resources, Engineering and technology, Pure and Applied Sciences, Human Resource and Development. A unique feature about Jkuat University is the fact that it houses another university in its grounds, one of the five institutes of Pan Africa University known as Pan Africa Union Institute of Basic Sciences, Technology and Innovation (PAUSTI). The university is a research hub thus offers a great opportunity for interested parties or learners to venture into research thus it is therefore no surprise that JKUAT houses the Sino Africa Joint Research Centre (SAJOREC) that supports research in biomedicine, modern agriculture and sustainable conservation of natural resources. My favourite facilities in the university are the huge olympic size swimming pool and the huge campus library that towers over all the buildings with its unique open-book roof design. Being a reader and such a bookworm , I have spent most of life in the school library school buried in a book in the Maths section trying to master calculus probability and statistics concepts as the place offers a quiet student friendly environment to read. Inside, one can charge ones phone and laptops since the walls have sockets all round and the study desks/tables spaced out thus keeping interference at a minimum. The students centre is filled with food vendors who offer a wide variety of foods and a gaming centre for video game lovers. The gaming centre also has pool tables that are flooded with players on Friday evenings. The university also has a lot of parks with fixed benches and WiFi connection that give students a place to relax as they wait for the next class, do research and assignments. There is also a hospital located inside the university grounds well staffed with qualified medical personnel ready to aid both students and Juja residents. The workshops and labs are well equipped with the latest technology in order to provide modern and quality learning experience to students. Besides that, the university has exchange programs that allow students to study in other universities in other countries for a semester or two thus allowing exposure , they also offer exchange programs for students in Jkuat Rwanda to study in the Kenyan campuses. Graduates from Jomo Kenyatta University are always on demand due to their high level of skill amd efficiency therefore this should definitely be your university of choice.
