Kenyatta University is one of the top universities in Kenya and has since time immemorial had a good academic reputation that precedes it making it known to be one of the best universities in Kenya academic-wise. The highly qualified lecturers here do their best to give quality education and skills. The school has great facilities such as its huge library with a vast collection of books that cut across all courses. It also has computers to guide you directly to the particular shelves of the book you require and the book number. Kenyatta University offers a lot of different courses and offers learning of foreign languages like Chinese to any interested students. It also gives you the chance to specialize and continue with further studies from undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate degrees. The grounds here are beautiful and the environment quite serene therefore providing the perfect learning environment. Kenyatta University has great infrastructure, like the Campanile, a huge tower surrounded by a small beautiful park. The tower holds a huge bell that rings at every hour turn and also holds some history of Kenyatta university. The school has a theater called the Amphitheatre that the school holds important events in a enclosed indoor space while any event outdoors is held at the huge graduation square. The school also has a nice beautiful park called the arboretum where students choose to chill, pray, and have photography sessions whenever they wish. The school is fully tarmacked all the way round the school and has workers who ensure the school is clean and tidy. The school also has good networking opportunities. This is the perfect place to gain some network with different people from all over Kenya and abroad with different ideas and personalities. For example it holds career weeks which people get to show off their skills and share ideas, it has some master classes for every coursezit also has cultural weeks where it holds singing competition, fashion shows, concerts and showing the different cultures and tribes of Kenya. In order to ensure maximum safety, at the gate all sudents pass through metal detectors and frisked for security reasons. The guards also take your temperature for health and safety reasons due to the prevailing Covid-19 pandemic then a few meters from there you’ll find some sinks with soap to wash your hands before heading to class. In most courses the school will provide any equipment needed for you to study and also it has a computer room block with WiFi running on every computer to assist the students who need the computer for research and learning purposes. Registering for units and receiving grades are all done online at the schools cite to hasten the process instead of handing out results to individuals one at a time. The cons of the school is one has to walk for long distances to for some processes like applying to join the school, going to the school bank and hostels. There is no convenient transportation to different places and the application process takes a lot of time to do.

A great university

This is one of the top public universities in Kenya offering a variety of courses to study! It occupies a large area with modern infrastructure and a serene environment suitable for studies. I’ve been here in medical school for 4years now and it’s a great institution! There are shuttles one can use to get from one place to another especially for long distances if you don’t have a car. No boda bodas are allowed in the institution unless they’ve been registered with the university and also taxis, ubers, bolt, etc are not let in past 10pm. The lecturers easily relate with the students which is great for our studies! The lecture schedules are given in the first week of every semester which helps you plan for your reading. However the number of students in the lecture halls is usually greater than the hall itself but due to the pandemic majority of the courses are having lectures online which creates more space for those doing physical learning. Every student has an online portal which helps to navigate for all requirements like tuition invoice, academic performance tracking, etc which is so reliable and convenient plus an e-learning portal where study material is uploaded. The library is made of 5floors and is fully stocked! The accommodation currently available does not accommodate the big number of students so majority have to find it elsewhere depending on preference and affordability. The hostels however require renovation because their state is wanting. The security in the university is top notch so it is very safe while in it. The university has got dining areas that serve breakfast, lunch and dinner at student friendly prices but unfortunately the food is not of great taste! However there are about 4 restuarants within campus where one can purchase food too. There are hardly any operating canteens around the university so you might have to carry your own snacks or move out to a market outside the school to buy something. Kenyatta university is also a home for international students and embraces different cultures through the annual culture week that’s very fun and colorful.

Good quality education

3.67/ 5

Known to be one of the best universities in Kenya. The main campus is located along Thika road. This university is on about 1000 acres. This university is well known for producing competent graduates due to the good quality of education. The environment is quite good with neatly mowed grass and no litter in sight. There are other satellite campuses in Nakuru, Nairobi CBD, Kitui, Mombasa and Nyeri among others. The also offer online or digital schooling to those who choose but for specific courses. The school is quite large so getting lost is super easy especially if you are new. This university has great facilities such as the Post Modern Library that is 5 floors. This allows huge reading areas and also numerous discussion rooms. Kenyatta university also has many fields designated to different sports e.g football, netball, volleyball and tennis. It also has many other co-curricular activities like drama club and art. The security in the school is quite okay with a mandatory security check at the gate and guards walking around. This school is also well situated as there is affordable housing to students who choose to stay outside school just 10 minutes’ walk from the school. There is also a small area behind the school where there is cheap hostels. This area is well known for its numerous printing areas and the eating joints. The service in Kenyatta university offices is not quite good as its slow and sometimes you encounter rude staff at the finance office. This university however produces very qualified graduates ready to enter the job market.

A conducive Centre for learning all you want about Chinese Language.

4/ 5

After I finished my form four I wanted to do Chinese and I was looking for a place that could offer really good packages for their Chinese language lessons. A friend recommended Kenyatta University because of their Confucius institute. This institute was established in around 2008 and it upholds a high quality of learning when it comes to the Chinese language. I know several people who graduated from here. I first started with the beginners in Chinese language and culture package that basically has two semesters .I felt like the teaching was very good and for a beginner I didn’t feel particularly pressured. The lectures were very accommodating and took their time to make sure I understood what was being taught. After I finished beginners course I went for their other program which is now a certificate in Chinese language and culture and this also had two semesters. This level was a little bit difficult but I pulled through. Their charges were relatively fair and I’d really recommended it if you want to learn this language. Generally about the architecture I feel like in some areas Kenyatta University is doing well in some areas. Some buildings are new so of course they look better and the older ones look a little too old .What I didn’t like was the hygiene in some of the washrooms.I felt like it was really lacking in some areas of the school. This was essentially prominent in the older buildings that have poor plumbing. The cleanliness everywhere else is relatively good and this makes it very conducive for study.Their library is also one of the best in the country with a large collection of books and other reading materials. It also has several different study sections making it very convenient.

World-class learning

4.5/ 5

I am currently in my fifth year of study at Kenyatta University and I have loved every single minute of it! Kenyatta University in located in Kiambu County, along Thika Road. The university offers a lot of courses in Science and Arts as well as language programs such as Korean and Chinese. The school occupies a large area with colleges located in different areas of the school. It would certainly help if you own a scooter, bicycle or car to help you move about campus although there are shuttles that facilitate this. My favourite place is the library – yes I’m a nerd. I have spent most evenings at this facility. The library had five floors and vast reading space. They have a modern system for borrowing books and it is very well-stocked for all undergraduate and post-graduate students. The school also has a lot of food vendors and a school cafeteria for meals. There is also a pool, badminton court, football pitch and rugby field on the premises. I live outside campus but the school provides accommodation to students who opt to live on-campus. The school is eco-friendly and prioritizes a clean environment and preservation on trees. As such, the school is evergreen and you can opt to sit on the benches in between classes in the school parks. Adjacent to the school is a small town, which I like to think of as Hogwart’s Hogsmeade. Here, some students reside but it is a popular place for students to have lunch and get their printing done. The lecture halls are located all over campus and allocated according to colleges. Exams results are given to us through our online portal accounts, which I find efficient and modern.

Public university .

This is a public Ùniversity in Kenya with it’s main branch in both Nairobi and Kiambu County. It has so many other branches around the country. I’ve never really visited the other branches of the university but I go to the one along Thika Road next to Kahawa Sukari. It is one of the most developed universities in Nairobi in terms of infrastructure with well maintained facilities (well some of them). It offers quite a variety of undergraduate, postgraduate and diploma courses.I also like that it offers online learning, part time learning for students who need to work and also full time learning. The fees structure varies depending on the course you are taking if you are a self sponsored student but for those who are government sponsored ,the rates are usually pretty standard .There is accomodation offered for government sponsored students .Self sponsored students can also apply although to be honest they rarely get assigned. There are however other accomodation options around the school in the neighbouring residential areas .The hostels are not really at per , having issues here and there ,but the price is usually very cheap so that’s a plus if you want to save money. What I don’t like about this university is that it is prone to alot of strikes .I find this very draining and time consuming especially if the degree you want to acquire like for instance a medical one takes about 6years ,you end up spending even up to 8 or 9.
