Some KFC fun facts
The secret recipe of 11 herbs and spices was first developed in 1939. The same recipe is still used across the world today.

It really is a secret recipe, locked away in a vault in Louisville, Kentucky. Only a handful of people know the multi-million dollar recipe and they have signed strict confidentiality contracts. Not even the spice companies that mix the secret blend of 11 herbs & spices know the complete recipe.

Colonel Sanders’ first meals were served to hungry travelers visiting his service station in Corbin, Kentucky in 1930. He didn’t have a restaurant but served meals at his own dining table in the living quarters of the Corbin service station.

KFC was last year voted Number 1 in the People’s Choice category in the annual coveted Taste Awards while Kuku Foods East Africa the KFC franchise holder in EA was chosen franchisee of the year 2015 in the whole of Africa!

I love chicken, and every time my friend says she is hungry, all I can think about is the KFC. Times I usually go to KFC on Thika road around the drive-in area. During my time in college, I would go there and enjoy their juicy chicken, which made me want more and more. KFC has many branches in different parts of the country. The ambiance of the place is always great. The service providers are professional and well-dressed. The price is very affordable, ranging from 330 for one portion of chicken and fries370 for two pieces and 570 for three. The service gets slow when it’s busy, and you have to wait for some time for your order to be ready. The food in KFC is always outstanding. I like the location of KFC because easily accessible

Who else cried during the KFC chips shortage back In January?? 🥲 heh!! I was suffering alafu the replacement options they were giving us were just a no from me. I remember the first time I had a taste of KFC back in the UK in 2018…like it blew my taste buds away! So when they finally came to Kenya I was so excited…i was among those first people in line. I knew I had to lower my expectations because I noticed even soda za Kenya na huko doesn’t taste the same yet same brand. I have visited their Lavington, Waiyaki way, Westland’s square, Junction, The Hub, Village Market, and Nyali Msa branches. Some of the meals I’ve tried from their menu: 1. Wingman (ksh.590) -5 pieces of wings, regular chips, and 350ml soda. This is such a steal for me.

I love how sticky they are and the sauce has just the right balance of hot&sweet…it hits the spot every time 👌 I highly recommend this. I noticed that when you dine in the wings are not as big compared to when you get them via a drive-through. And, the branch I noticed that puts bigger pieces of wings is the one on waiyaki way. 2. Streetwise 2 or 3 (Ksh.350-550)- thank goodness they introduced these combos because buying them individually is more expensive 😅 I love the crunch in their chicken, perfectly cooked and moist! the fries are also well seasoned and the portions are good. Download the Jumia food app and get deals on KFC meals 3. Oreo krusher (ksh.290)- is made of ice-cold slush, oreo cookie, chocolate sauce…blended to make this delicious creamy drink. I literally get brain freeze every time I drink this 😏 perfect for those hot days in Nairobi 4. Burgers-without meals they go for Ksh.500 and with meals Ksh.750.

I have tried their Colonel and Zinger burgers. Let’s just say they are not my favorite because the 🍔 bun is plain and dry. I wish they would add some butter and grill or toast the bun to make it tastier. Plus the portions are small you better off getting their combo meals. 5. Ice cream- 250ml goes for 250/= and 750ml is 550/=. They come in 3 flavors; Vanilla, Salted caramel, and Cookies n cream. To me, there’s nothing extraordinary…tastes just like any other ice cream on the market. Overall, great experience with KFC staff, and food….no complaints from me

Great chicken but small portions

Being a great lover of chicken, ordering from KFC on Glovo or UberEats has become a habit I can’t seem to stop. Their streetwise 2 combo had been a personal favorite especially during the lockdown period . Currently, they have a discounted offer on it selling it at only 300 bob. My best experience with KFC was on 23rd December when my friend and I popped in to grab some take away at their newly opened branch on Langata Drive and we got Ksh 500 worth of fuel for spending Ksh1200 on our order! I actually had no idea that the first 100 customers who were going to spend over 1000 that day were to be gifted this. My favourite thing about KFC besides their crispy delicious chicken is their perfectly cut and well-salted fries. When I’m not ordering from home, I mostly eat from their Garden City branch. Their customer service here is great and have a nice spacious dining area facing the beautiful lawn in the mall. I however wish they would increase their fries portions especially when one buys the 9 piece chicken bucket combo without charging more for extra fries considering the fact that one has spent Ksh 1650 on the order. I highly recommend the KFC sliders for people who prefer hotdogs over chicken. In case you are caught up in traffic and quite hungry, their drivethru comes in handy especially on the ever busy Mombasa Rd. Eating here whether dine in or delivery is definitely a must try.

When you don't feel like cooking

Do you at time just not feel like cooking and you decide to get KFC? If you don’t, you’re missing out. I often choose to order KFC than cook. Or maybe I’m addicted to chicken. KFC has a chain of branches in all major town in Kenya. The one I frequent is at The Hub Karen. I like this one mostly because of the mall. Its architecture is quite different and allows for great ambience when having your chicken. A cab from Nairobi City Center costs KES600. You can also use public means which costs about KES100. You pay at the counter and take your seat for about 10 minutes then you go pick your order at the counter. When I’m really hungry, I get the streetwise 7 which goes for KES1500. At other occasions I just have friend and 2 pieces of chicken which goes for KES400. Their Krushers is also to die for. 10/10 recommend for all fat food lovers.

Crazy for chicken

Chicken!!! This chain of fast food restaurant, known for their great chicken, has branches in many towns in Kenya and numerous in Nairobi. Their ambience and decor are uniform across all their branches but I especially like the one at The Hub Karen. The have theme of white and red and very modern sitting arrangement with booths in some of their branches. The parking here is not free. They have a self service system where you pay for your food at the counter and given a receipt. You then wait for a few minutes to collect your food. This is your ideal fast food because you don’t need to wait for long. Their food is the best chicken I’ve had. I normally get either the streetwise 7 which goes for 1500KES or the bawa bucket that goes for 1600KES. These packages come with fries and soda. I always enjoy every last bit of it. They also sell different flavors of Krusher. I really like the Oreo or Kitkat one. They are so thick and the brain freeze!!! KFC is a place I go to or order in for my comfort food. It’s super easy to know what you want. I always get the same thing. I think I’ll get myself some now…

This place is great! Atmosphere is chill and cool but the staff is also really friendly. They know what they’re doing and what they’re talking about, and you can tell making the customers happy is their main priority. Food is pretty good, especially the burgers for me are classics and some twists, and for their prices, it’s 100% worth it.
