Kilimanjaro makes a point of impressing customers every time. We decided to go there one Monday afternoon, the restaurant was full, but we were happy to get a table. For me, I take it as a sign that it’s a great place. We decided to order liquids first as we waited for the meal, our order was delivered in record time, within two minutes our fresh juices order was on our table, we were eyeing the bacony made in a corner shape because of the view and fresh air, but unfortunately, we missed it. The first thing you notice as you enter is how spacious, refreshing, and clean the restaurant is. At the entrance a big smile awaits you… if you probably went there having a bad day, the big and warm smile totally corrects it. Their main meal is a lunch Somali style. otherwise, À la carte menu that is extensive, Their portion is massive, fresh, and affordable. Quantity versus the pricing is good because you get value for money! The staff is very friendly, and if it’s your first time trying out their menu, they go an extra mile of recommending some dishes plus their flavors, while at it they will request to know if by any chance you are allergic to anything just to make sure they are on point with their game! a well-thought plan NOT to waste a client’s time. We ordered everything on one plate and what stood out for us was the young goat meat., the portion was big, actually we got served the whole leg of the animal. It was really good food. We Watched the waiters serve other tables, and the portions were the same. I have enjoyed several delicacies there from Swahili Chicken Biriyani to Pilau with Goat Fry accompanied with a cocktail of fruit juice and other tasteful meals. I also once tried a bit of adventurous cuisine with camel tea (camel milk) and the main camel dish. Not an expert but it tasted good but a bit different from the normal tea. I’d recommend the arosto (goat meat) or chicken platter. It can feed 2-3 people as the portions are very generous and balanced. The interior is inviting and intricate with the designs having an Arab feel. A place where you can comfortably eat and even treat a group without denting your pockets. Quality service and amazing food.

If you one day need good Swahili food within the CBD then Kilimanjaro Jamia is the place to be. Just opposite Jamia Mosque you’ll find the restaurant. I’m a huge fan of chicken biryani and that’s what took me there but they serve a whole lot different types of food and drinks. I noticed that this place one thing they do is impress their customers. They waiters are quick and food doesn’t take long and when The food is brought on your table you’ll smile because it’s in quantity and when you try that chicken biryani you’ll feel the quality of that food. It’s finger licking sweeeeet. I don’t know if the lady named faith is still there because it’s been a while since I went back but if you do look for her. She served me well. I would love to go back for that chicken biryani.

have to say, I enjoyed every single bite of the meal in Kilimanjaro Jamia 🤩The service is unmatched. We were received warmly despite us not being Somali or Muslim….Guys anyone can visit Kilimanjaro you don’thave to be in a buibui to eat there.. Thier food is absolutely amazing and sweet and tasty. Guys please make sure. You try their guacamole, chicken biriyani, Arosto and Kilimanjaro special 🥰…… Thank me later…The ambience was also giving 🤗…viewing Nairobi city while having your meal…its magic🥰….The idea of you guys serving the portions in a Sinia 😍 . My work was just to ensure l had an empty stomach and clean hands. WEH! si tulichafua meza. . As you can see my sinia is empty. I Highly recommend ! You offer the best swahili dishes. I would like to come back here again and again.

Kilimanjaro Jamia, i could write a book! Talk about the ambience, talk about the friendly staff, good food. Whenever I visit Kilimanjaro Jamia, I like ordering the famous sinia. The sinia comprises of pilau, chicken biryani, arosto, chips, naan and the famous guacamole. I love that the portions are enough and the taste is to die for. I remember this one time I took my younger siblings for a treat at Kilimanjaro. I only had enough money to cater for the food and so we were going to eat the food without any drinks. The waiter who served us said that he could not afford to let us eat the meal dry. He went ahead and served us with water. I’ve never felt so ‘at home’. Would recommend the place anyday!

Kilimanjaro Jamia is located along Kimathi Street directly opposite Jamia mosque in Nairobi. The ambience is amazing, warm and cozy. It is spot on woithout being overbearing. There are seating options which are either inside the main resturant or outside overlooking Kimathi Street from the terrace streets.has The terrace is best as it has more conveniently placed booths therefore one is able to privately enjoy their meal. The menu is quite expansive and overwhelming for a first timer but we had a friendly and helpful waiter who happily helped us navigate it. I had there chicken curry that came along with a tandoori naan and I didn’t regret the choice. The food is great although it may feel quite tame on the spicy side of things. I also had their famous dawa which is a hot mixture of ginger lemon and honey. This helped me feel grat as I was a little bit under the weather on that day. Apart from hot drinks they also serve cold dricks such as mocktails and juices but they can sometimes feel artificial. All these cost men around Ksh 1000. The prices are quite friendly as one is good to go with between Ksh 500 and Ksh 800. Early mornings and Late evenings are the best time to go to Kilimanjaro as it is not as crowded compared to lunch hours. Morning hours you can treat yourself with the breakfast plan which is a killer especially their Somali breakfast combo. Although their waiters are quite friendly, time consciousness is a let down on their service as at times it can feel like the waiter takes forever to bring your order. I would recommend this venue for meetings with friends and family due to its vibrant but cosy nature.

For a single meals they have the bets fish fingers,chicken biryani , shakes, and goat meat I loved every bit of these foods. Not forgetting since we are heading into the cold season they have the perfect dawa concoction to unblock air way and keep you healthy. Just drop by for a quick concotion fix. Their environ is cool less noisy environment day and night with a cool breeze at the balcony sitting area. For warm sitting postion the ground floor does that perfectly. Their food is affordable especially when the economy favors you😅. Put this place in your bucket list and things to do list every day.

Kilimanjaro Jamia is one of the few well known halal restaurants in Nairobi. I personally love their newest branch that’s directly opposite Jamia mosque because their food here is more exceptional than in their other outlets still located around town. The ambience and surrounding here is also waaay better that in its other branches. I’ve been here a couple of times and their savory food has never disappointed one bit. I love eating upstairs since it’s quieter on most occasions and has more conveniently placed booths than the few downstairs therefore giving one a chance to enjoy their meals more privately. Their staff is always really friendly and head to ones table immediately one has a seat. They have staff on each floor so you never have to wait too long before you’re served even on busy days especially on Friday afternoons since most customers are usually from the nearby mosque. My best meal here is their fish curry. They make sooo well with just the right amount of spices and their portions are very satisfying. Their milkshakes and mango juice are also really nice. It is the perfect place to go for a family outing or hang out with friends because their platter usually is quite huge and has an assortment of many meals on their extensive menu. Their platter ranges from Ksh 1150 to Ksh 3150 depending on the food mixed and the number of people sharing when you order. If you live around Nairobi and haven’t tried a meal here I don’t know what you’ve been waiting for.

If you are ever looking for a place within Nairobi CBD with great food and value for your money, look no further than Kilimanjaro. It is located on Kimathi Street with a huge sign post on the restaurant making it hard to miss it. I was there the other day with my brother. He was in town and we decided to have lunch. He asked which place serves the most food haha. We got to the building and past the stair to the first floor. It was around 3pm and that’s great time because at lunch time, the place is full. This older guy welcomed us and directed us to the seats outside. This restaurant is not very big on ambience unless you are seated at the balcony. But its set up allows for family outings, dates and if you time it right, business meetings when its silent. We got the menu and the waiter was very eager to inform us about the days special. I took chicken biryani which cost KES950 and my brother beef biryani which costs KES800. The food was ready pretty fast and my bro was impressed with the servings. “You have to know your city” We both enjoyed the service and the meal. Would recommend 10/10.

This restaurant is located in the middle of the city. It’s on Kimathi street. This is a restaurant that is a popular among people who work in town. Their interior is very nice and simple. The moment you walk in you are assisted by one of the staff members in finding a table. It was around lunch time so it was pretty full. As soon as we were seated,a waiter approached us with menus to take our order. The staff are very polite and smiley. The food you order does not take more than 10 minutes to rich your table. The biryani ,which costs 950/=, was so yummy and the portions were so generous. I had it with a cold passion juice which cost 200/=. My friends ordered pilau which costs 650/= and I can say that they were equally satisfied. There is no parking allocated this this restaurant so you’ll have to park around at a fee charged by the county. Kilimanjaro restaurant is a great place to go to for quick business lunches . I recommend reserving if you’ll come by during lunch rush hour. I still can’t believe I got another biryani to go.

This is the go to place for the most delicious Swahili, Arabic, Indian and Somali cuisine. Located in the heart of Nairobi CBD, Kimathi Street. It is hard to pass that street and not notice the beauty that it is. I was there the other day with a friend who had recommended it. She also insisted that I came on an empty stomach. That should have alerted me on the quantities served. We arrive at around 3pm which was late enough to miss the lunch time rush. We went past the entrance then past a flight of stairs to the first floor where the restaurant is. We were warmly greeted by one of the waiter who directed us to available seats. We choose to seat at the balcony because of the ambience and some privacy. The menu offers an array of dishes. We settled on the Chicken Biryani special which costs 500/= The guy waiting on us asked whether we’d like chill and ukwaju which we were more than happy to oblige. The food took 15 minutes to be ready and I have to say, the serving is quite generous. Value for money is certain. They serve some of the food on a Swahili plate known as sinia which we were to share. The food was delicious. It was so tasty that at one point, I was full but I couldn’t resist adding more. We had to get the remaining food packed. I really had a great time. Definitely coming back.

Kilimanjaro is the restaurant that I go to when I want to have Swahili dishes made by Swahilis in the CBD. The restaurant is known for its generous portions and finger-licking dishes. Traditionally, Swahilis eat communally from one large plate and that is how they serve their food here if preffered. The first thing that got me awestruck about Kilimajaro jamia is it’s interior which by the way, you can see from right across the street because of it’s partially transparent glass walls. A couple of my friends and I went there on a Friday evening and I got to see the restaurant in all it’s glory with it’s well lit , beautifully accesorised lighting. They have these earth brown and golden yellow theme inside that makes the place look classy but still gives off this warm feeling at the same time. Their tables are usually set for two or four but you can opt for a booth on their upper floor in case you’d like a bit of privacy. I particularly loved the fact that their pricing is quite pocket friendly with a meal of biryani going for about 400KES. Their fish curry is to die for by the way, so if you do get there and not know what to order you can never go wrong with their curries or chicken strips. It is the perfect go-to place for those Sunday afternoon family outings since they give these awesome full ,quite delicious platters that go for sh2000. They have efficient customer service who patiently walk you through the menu options in case you need help. People ask how far would you go to keep your tastebuds happy and I say all the way…To Kimathi street .

I had lunch here with 3 friends. It’s quite a popular restaurant because the branch at banda street was full so we opted for the one on Kimathi Street which was not as populated. The covid sops were really observed so we felt safe. We were welcomed by a waiter who created space for us at the balcony. The interior is really beautiful but we opted for the balcony since it was quite a hot afternoon and he offered us the menu. This place has a variety of foods such as Indian dishes, Somali food, Arabic food, etc. We ordered for chicken biryani, chicken curry accompanied with rice, beef curry and butter chicken accompanied with naan. The food was mouthwatering and as delicious as it looked apart from the chicken biryani which disappointed us. We opted for sodas and one of us ordered for pineapple mint juice which she loved so it’s definitely worth your try. The downside however was that the order took longer than we had anticipated after being assured by the waiter that it’s soon coming on 2 occasions! But once we got it, the food was in huge quantity! We ate to our satisfaction and requested the surplus to be packed as takeaway. The prices of the food are pocket friendly around 500 to 800kshs depending on your preference on the menu and total of all we had was ksh 3000. It will definitely be worth your money!
