Tasty chicken wrap with avocado

4.8/ 5

This small artistic cafe is in Nakuru CBD along Kenyatta Avenue. The art on the entrance is quite catchy. This coffee house is small, cosy and the decor is a bit rustic. It has a nice vibe. I normally frequent this joint because of its convenient location(being in the CBD) and great meals. The service here is top notch and the waiters are so polite and friendly. I’ve had a few meals here; their chicken wrap which goes for KES350 is really good and it has avocado! I also get cakes and coffee from here. The cakes range from KES250 and coffee goes for around the same. This place is ideal for even solo dates when you need to get some work done, they have reliable Wi-Fi and sockets around the restaurant. It is also ideal to bring someone you are courting. The also sell occasional cakes such as for birthdays and weddings. There is parking in the area that will be paid (KES100) separately to town council. I like the vibe. Would recommend 8/10

Coffee house with the most tasty shawarma

4.2/ 5

Located in Nakuru, 159km from Nairobi CBD, Mainstreet Coffee House offers a break from the hustle of the busy Kenyatta Avenue where it is located. I went there for a date with my boyfriend on a Saturday afternoon. We took a cab from Milimani which cost us 150/= and dropped us off at the entrance. The entrance is quite artistic with the name written is this beautiful graffiti. On entering, I first notice they have a chalk board where they have written their day’s special. Then I noticed how the blend of brown on the walls and the tables and chairs is synonymous to it being a coffee house. The have art pieces on the wall which blend so well with the décor. The main counter is at the far end from the entrance and it also has graffiti of the cafe’s name. We decided to go sit up stair, for some privacy of course. There they have some table for two and booths. As soon as we settled in, a waitress approached us with the warmest smile and offered us the menu. I had the chicken shawarma for 350/= with vanilla milkshake for 200/= while my boyfriend had the chips masala for 200/= and a coke for 100/=. Their service is a bit slow but the food is mind blowing. I had to take another shawarma as take out. I liked the whole vide but the food was my favorite part.

It’s coffee o’clock☕️

A little cafe at the corner is how I would describe this place. The kind of place you read about in books. Its located right in the middle of town on Kenyatta Avenue. Once you enter you’ll forget that you are in town. Its quiet and you are always welcomed with the smell of good coffee. The decor has a rustic wood feeling. I’ve been here couple of times. The service is good with the staff very friendly. They are also clearly well trained and quick to assist. It’s quite small but very cozy. Especially in the mornings….grab a coffee while you read the newspaper or a book.  What keeps me coming is the food. I like trying different things on the menu but I mostly get the wrap and the masala. The chicken wrap goes for 350KES and comes with a side of fries. Value for money if you ask me to be honest. It’s also quite tasty. The masala here has just the right amount of chilli. Not too spicy but not mild either. Their milkshake is the truth!! I always have a baileys shake going with their muffins or cakes. Yes!! They have boozy shakes. On Friday’s they have 30% off on all coffee, tea and cakes. On Wednesday’s they have a wing it offer for 850KES. In this package you get 18 pieces of wings, some fries and two milkshakes. The wings are crazy good and so saucy. Knowing Nakuru you’ll know there aren’t many joints like this. So this is my go to place for a chilled date or even a meeting (good wifi).
