Taxify is now Bolt! I must admit I am a loyal Bolt customer. Taxify started five years ago with a mission to make urban transportation easier and faster. Their first product was a taxi dispatch platform, hence the name. My experience with Bolt has been pretty great, for some reason I always find very humble and polite drivers, just once I was driven by a lady… Because of their politeness, I always end up giving them a tip for their great customer care. Being a loyal customer has earned me great discounts that always come in handy. having used both services cars and motorbikes, I am happy to write that so far with my experience with motorbikes, I have been impressed… clean motorbike drivers that care about your safety.

Bolt also provides options for the rider to choose from that is boda boda , lite or bolt itself and even the women’s only option. My last ride using bolt was from upper hill till south b. I was in a rush so I opted for the bodaboda option. I confirmed my order and was matched with a rider in three minutes. The rider took around five minutes to get to the pick up point that was Madison insurance. His name was Patrick and he ensured I wore my helmet and was sitted comfortably before leaving. It took us around 20 minutes to navigate traffic till we got to our destination. I paid 130 shillings thanks to the offer on the app that discounted my bill from 180 to 130 saving my cash. The driver gave me a five star and once I got off the bike safely he left. I recommend using the app to navigate the city when you want to avoid the hassles of walking all the way to the nearest bus station and traffic issues.

I took Bolt from the Airport to Ngong road. The amount on the app was 1030 plus a promo code for 20%.Upon reaching my destination the amount doubled to 2110.i argued with the driver but In the end I paid him only to realize Upon scrolling to the end of the message my destination had been changed to Kiambu by the driver. This is the moment i realized I had been conned I called the driver Immediately but his phone was already off..I immediately reported the same to Bolt company shared all the documentation they required thinking i will be refunded!Instead i have been taken round in circles for the past 2 weeks !! I think this crooked drivers and In cahoots with the company to steal from innocent customers. I cannot recommend them as apart from old ,dirty crooked drivers the company is not interested in customer support but only defends their crooked drivers! TAKE BOLT AT YOUR OWN RISK!!

I love the discounts that are often given to me and I find using Bolt quite comfortable especially when we are like 3 of us because then it gets cheaper than using matatu to go to wherever you are going and in a shorter time too. Bolt has about 5 options each with a different price range and car size. These are lite, which is usually the cheapest option, but the car will be really small so its great for 1 or 2 people especially during the pandemic. The others are bolt, which has the medium car sizes, the boda boda, the plus, the XL, which is the biggest in size of the cars so can carry a number of people. Note that the bigger the car size, the higher the price estimates. However, on many occasions the drivers end up becoming rude whenever you are going to pay with a card. One driver once asked me to cancel the ride after I had waited for him for about 15 minutes just because I was going to paying with a card. So, make sure you have cash or MPESA if you’re going to use Bolt to avoid any inconvenience.

These are suited to specific needs of every user. I usually use this app to get about Nairobi. Especially during night outs to avoid driving. I also use bolt to get to school. Their security is good especially now that they have an SOS button during rides. You can also share your drive with your loved ones.
