Nakuru has become one of my favourite weekend getaways this year. Its popularity among Nairobians grew during covid due to travel restrictions to more popular getaways, such as Mombasa and Kisumu. Naturally, this led to a boom in the nightlife industry in Kenya’s newest city. Some new clubs popped up that managed to unseat the top clubs of the previous years. This is my updated list of the Top 10 nightclubs and pubs in Nakuru.
1) Chili’s
Chili’s is one of Nakuru City’s newest clubs and my personal favourite. Popular among celebrities visiting Nakuru, the energy and ambience at Chili’s is hard to find in any other club in the city. Famous DJs often play here, with world-renowned Dj, Joe Mfalme, having played here several times. The music at Chili’s is amazing and you are guaranteed to have a fun weekend whenever you party here. Chili’s is located on Oginga Odinga Ave, next to Naivas Downtown. Next time you party in Nakuru make sure to check it out.
2) Platinum 7D club
Platinum 7D is one of the most popular clubs in Nakuru Town. Hence, always making it in all my top 10 clubs in Nakuru lists. Nairobians often flock to this club on weekends to enjoy the good music and have drinks with their friends. Its location along the Old Nairobi Rd makes it easy to find and accessible if you travelling from Nairobi. The alcohol prices in this club are similar to other clubs in Nairobi.
3) Culture Mambo Lounge
Culture Mambo is a beautiful lounge and restaurant located along Government Road, Opposite Vicmark Trading Centre. Its beautiful interior decor and lighting have made Culture Mambo a favourite party venue for both revellers and locals. Unfortunately, Culture Mambo isn’t as famous among Nairobians as other clubs on this list. But once you go to this club you won’t party anywhere else. Culture Mambo has a bright future in the Nakuru Partying scene.
4) Moca Loca Lounge
After a day of touring Nakuru, Moca Loca Lounge is the perfect place to unwind and dance the night away. The lounge, located along Kenyatta Avenue, offers a wide range of meals from salads to pizzas and fries. The cocktails here are also extremely good and you will be tempted to return here for more. Moca Loca also has really good music with deejays, karaoke, and live bands performing on different days of the week.
5) The Leather Bar
The Leather Bar is located inside Sarova Woodlands Hotel & Spa. It is a luxury bar and the décor in it reflects just that. The bar is furnished with leather and wood creating an executive look. It is the perfect atmosphere to enjoy your expensive cognac, and money spent here never feels wasted. The Leather Bar also serves cocktails, beer and wines. The bar is usually frequented by tourists, hotel guests and businessmen. However, it never has a lot of young people; even young hotel guests rarely go there. This is because it is not a place that will provide the wild fun that young people enjoy. However, if you want to enjoy your expensive drink in peace, The Leather Bar is the perfect place to do it. I’ve added it to my Top 10 Clubs in Nakuru list for the people who enjoy that type of drinking atmosphere.
6) Club Dimples
Club Dimples is located along Kenyatta Avenue right in the heart of Nakuru. Dimples is probably the oldest club in Nakuru, and I’ve known it since I was a child. However, the old age hasn’t deterred people from coming here. This club is still popular among the youth and attracts large crowds every weekend. The ambience in Club Dimples is really good, and they play awesome music often inviting local musicians and popular DJs. Hence, making it into my Top 10 Clubs in Nakuru list.
7) Taidy’s
If you want to have a chill conversation with your friends over a drink. Then Taidy’s along Oginga Odinga Avenue is the perfect place to do it. Taidy’s has both a restaurant and a sports bar, with the sports bar being on the first floor. The service here is very good and the meals enjoyable. The music is not usually too loud, making a conversation with your friends possible.
8) Sans Chic Bar and Restaurant
Sans Chic is a really beautiful restaurant located along Kenyatta Avenue in the business district of Nakuru Town. The bar has a really good atmosphere that is perfect for parties. The food here is really good and drinks are sold at affordable prices. The venue also has ample parking, so you can arrive here late at night without fear of missing parking space.

Please update this article, Xcape Grill & Lounge closed recently. Sebs has been closed for almost a year due to a water tank damaging the roof and Moca Loca has changed name and ownership but still open.
