In most small towns finding good clubs is hard. Since most investors prefer setting up clubs in cities because the profit margins are multiple times higher. However, Ruiru Town is different since it is within the Nairobi Metropolitan Area. Being right next to the biggest estates in Nairobi and along Thika Road, clubs here are easily accessible and therefore always full. So, I’ve made a list of the “Top Clubs in Ruiru” to help you out the next time you want to party there.
1. Klub Laviva & Lounge
Located in Spur Mall, Ruiru. This is one of my favourite clubs along Thika Road. It has a similar vibe to clubs in Parklands and Westlands and attracts a similar crowd. This makes it popular with celebrities such as Sauti Sol. Adekunle Gold did a surprise performance here in November 2021, and to be honest that was one of the best nights in clubbing history. This is why it’s first on my “Top Clubs in Ruiru” list.
2. The Velar Lounge
Velar Lounge is the newest club on Thika Road. Located inside an ultramodern building with a beautiful glass façade, this club has been attracting a lot of patrons on the weekends. It is located just a few meters from Kuzima Comrades. The interior is beautiful with an outdoor and indoor seating area. Each has its own VIP section. The music here is really good and the crowd is beautiful and always hyped. So make sure you check it out. DJ Grauchi also plays here often. This is why it makes it on my “Top Clubs in Ruiru” list.
3. Kuzima Comrades
This is the most popular and famous club along Thika Road. And arguably the longest surviving urban club on Thika Road. Most people assume it’s in Nairobi since it’s right at the Kiambu and Nairobi County border. But I checked the map, it’s in Ruiru. Lines are common outside this club since bouncers love freezing people, so make sure you are dressed to kill and remember to carry an id. The music here is loud and amazing since Dj Joe Mfalme, Dj Grauchi and pretty much every famous Dj play here weekly. Hence why it makes it to my “Top 10 Clubs in Ruiru list”. If you want to have a wild night, Kuzima Comrades is guaranteed to give you just that.
4. 1759 Spiral Lounge
Located along Thika Road, this is among the most popular clubs on Thika Road. It is always full and finding a seat here on Fridays is almost impossible. The DJs here are incredible, the décor amazing and the prices wonderful. Make sure you check it out the next time you are in Ruiru.
5. Burudani Square
This humungous club is located along Thika Road, right after Kenyatta Road. It’s a huge complex with two levels, and it’s a surprise how it manages to fill up on weekends. Inside the complex, there are multiple vendor stores selling a wide selection of clothes, food and art. I have only been here once before but I really enjoyed myself. This is why it makes it to my “Top Clubs in Ruiru” list.
